ksmbd: scope conn->binding slowpath to bound sessions only

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: scope conn->binding slowpath to bound sessions only When the binding SESSION_SETUP sets conn->binding = true, the flag stays set after the call so that the global session lookup in ksmbd_session_lookup_all() can find the session, which was not added to conn->sessions. Because the flag is connection-wide, the global lookup path will also resolve any other session by id if asked. Tighten the global lookup so that the returned session must have this connection registered in its channel xarray (sess->ksmbd_chann_list). The channel entry is installed by the existing bind

bpf: Free reuseport cBPF prog after RCU grace period.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Free reuseport cBPF prog after RCU grace period. Eulgyu Kim reported the splat below with a repro. [0] The repro sets up a UDP reuseport group with a cBPF prog and replaces it with a new one while another thread is sending a UDP packet to the group. The reuseport prog is freed by sk_reuseport_prog_free(). bpf_prog_put() is called for "e"BPF prog to destruct through multiple stages while cBPF prog is freed immediately by bpf_release_orig_filter() and bpf_prog_free(). If a reuseport prog is detached from the setsockopt() path (reuseport_attach_prog() or reuseport_deta

ip6_vti: set netns_immutable on the fallback device.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ip6_vti: set netns_immutable on the fallback device. john1988 and Noam Rathaus reported that vti6_init_net() does not set the netns_immutable flag on the per-netns fallback tunnel device (ip6_vti0). Other similar tunnel drivers (like ip6_tunnel, sit, ip6_gre, and ip_tunnel) correctly set this flag during their fallback device initialization to prevent them from being moved to another network namespace.

net/sched: fix pedit partial COW leading to page cache corruption

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: fix pedit partial COW leading to page cache corruption tcf_pedit_act() computes the COW range for skb_ensure_writable() once before the key loop using tcfp_off_max_hint, but the hint does not account for the runtime header offset added by typed keys. This can leave part of the write region un-COW'd. Fix by moving skb_ensure_writable() inside the per-key loop where the actual write offset is known, and add overflow checking on the offset arithmetic. For negative offsets (e.g. Ethernet header edits at ingress), use skb_cow() to COW the headroom instead. Guard offs

Revert "net/smc: Introduce TCP ULP support"

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Revert "net/smc: Introduce TCP ULP support" This reverts commit d7cd421da9da2cc7b4d25b8537f66db5c8331c40. As reported by Al Viro, the TCP ULP support for SMC is fundamentally broken. The implementation attempts to convert an active TCP socket into an SMC socket by modifying the underlying `struct file`, dentry, and inode in-place, which violates core VFS invariants that assume these structures are immutable for an open file, creating a risk of use after free errors and general system instability. Given the severity of this design flaw and the fact that cleaner alternative

net: gro: don't merge zcopy skbs

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: gro: don't merge zcopy skbs skb_gro_receive() can currently copy frags between the source and GRO skb, without checking the zerocopy status, and in particular the SKBFL_MANAGED_FRAG_REFS flag. When SKBFL_MANAGED_FRAG_REFS is set, the skb doesn't hold a reference on the pages in shinfo->frags. Appending those frags to another skb's frags without fixing up the page refcount can lead to UAF. When either the last skb in the GRO chain (the one we would append frags to) or the source skb is zerocopy, don't merge the skbs.

tun: free page on build_skb failure in tun_xdp_one()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tun: free page on build_skb failure in tun_xdp_one() When build_skb() fails in tun_xdp_one(), the function sets ret to -ENOMEM and jumps to the out label, which returns without freeing the page that vhost_net_build_xdp() allocated for the frame. As with the short-frame rejection path, tun_sendmsg() discards the per-buffer error and still returns total_len, so vhost_tx_batch() takes the success path and never frees the page. Each build_skb() failure in a batch leaks one page-frag chunk. Free the page before taking the error path, matching the put_page() the other error exit

tun: free page on short-frame rejection in tun_xdp_one()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tun: free page on short-frame rejection in tun_xdp_one() tun_xdp_one() returns -EINVAL on a frame shorter than ETH_HLEN without freeing the page that vhost_net_build_xdp() allocated for it. tun_sendmsg() discards that -EINVAL and still returns total_len, so vhost_tx_batch() takes the success path and never frees the page; each short frame in a batch leaks one page-frag chunk. A local process that can open /dev/net/tun and /dev/vhost-net can hit this path: it attaches a tun/tap device as the vhost-net backend and feeds TX descriptors whose length minus the virtio-net header

tap: free page on error paths in tap_get_user_xdp()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tap: free page on error paths in tap_get_user_xdp() tap_get_user_xdp() rejects a frame shorter than ETH_HLEN with -EINVAL, and returns -ENOMEM when build_skb() fails. Both paths jump to the err label without freeing the page that vhost_net_build_xdp() allocated for the frame. tap_sendmsg() discards the per-buffer return value and always returns 0, so vhost_tx_batch() takes the success path and never frees the page; each rejected frame in a batch leaks one page-frag chunk. Free the page on both error paths, before the skb is built. This is the tap counterpart of the same le

net/sched: act_ct: Only release RCU read lock after ct_ft

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: act_ct: Only release RCU read lock after ct_ft When looking up a flow table in act_ct in tcf_ct_flow_table_get(), rhashtable_lookup_fast() internally opens and closes an RCU read critical section before returning ct_ft. The tcf_ct_flow_table_cleanup_work() can complete before refcount_inc_not_zero() is invoked on the returned ct_ft resulting in a UAF on the already freed ct_ft object. This vulnerability can lead to privilege escalation. Analysis from [email protected]: When initializing act_ct, tcf_ct_init() is called, which internally triggers tcf_

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/v3d: Reject empty multisync extension to prevent infinite loop v3d_get_extensions() walks a userspace-provided singly-linked list of ioctl extensions without any bound on the chain length. A local user can craft a self-referential extension (ext->next == &ext) with zero in_sync_count and out_sync_count, which bypasses the existing duplicate- extension guard: if (se->in_sync_count || se->out_sync_count) return -EINVAL; The guard never fires because v3d_get_multisync_post_deps() returns immediately when count is zero, leaving both fields at zero on every

flow_dissector: do not dissect PPPoE PFC frames

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: flow_dissector: do not dissect PPPoE PFC frames RFC 2516 Section 7 states that Protocol Field Compression (PFC) is NOT RECOMMENDED for PPPoE. In practice, pppd does not support negotiating PFC for PPPoE sessions, and the flow dissector driver has assumed an uncompressed frame until the blamed commit. During the review process of that commit [1], support for PFC is suggested. However, having a compressed (1-byte) protocol field means the subsequent PPP payload is shifted by one byte, causing 4-byte misalignment for the network header and an unaligned access exception on som

selinux: allow multiple opens of /sys/fs/selinux/policy

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: selinux: allow multiple opens of /sys/fs/selinux/policy Currently there can only be a single open of /sys/fs/selinux/policy at any time. This allows any process to block any other process from reading the kernel policy. The original motivation seems to have been a mix of preventing an inconsistent view of the policy size and preventing userspace from allocating kernel memory without bound, but this is arguably equally bad. Eliminate the policy_opened flag and shrink the critical section that the policy mutex is held. While we are making changes here, drop a couple of extran
