RDMA/cxgb4: Added NULL check for lookup_atid

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/cxgb4: Added NULL check for lookup_atid The lookup_atid() function can return NULL if the ATID is invalid or does not exist in the identifier table, which could lead to dereferencing a null pointer without a check in the `act_establish()` and `act_open_rpl()` functions. Add a NULL check to prevent null pointer dereferencing. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.

vhost_vdpa: assign irq bypass producer token correctly

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vhost_vdpa: assign irq bypass producer token correctly We used to call irq_bypass_unregister_producer() in vhost_vdpa_setup_vq_irq() which is problematic as we don't know if the token pointer is still valid or not. Actually, we use the eventfd_ctx as the token so the life cycle of the token should be bound to the VHOST_SET_VRING_CALL instead of vhost_vdpa_setup_vq_irq() which could be called by set_status(). Fixing this by setting up irq bypass producer's token when handling VHOST_SET_VRING_CALL and un-registering the producer before calling vhost_vring_ioctl() to prevent

net: seeq: Fix use after free vulnerability in ether3 Driver Due to Race Condition

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: seeq: Fix use after free vulnerability in ether3 Driver Due to Race Condition In the ether3_probe function, a timer is initialized with a callback function ether3_ledoff, bound to &prev(dev)->timer. Once the timer is started, there is a risk of a race condition if the module or device is removed, triggering the ether3_remove function to perform cleanup. The sequence of operations that may lead to a UAF bug is as follows: CPU0 CPU1 | ether3_ledoff ether3_remove | free_netdev(dev); | put_devic

    firmware_loader: Block path traversal

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: firmware_loader: Block path traversal Most firmware names are hardcoded strings, or are constructed from fairly constrained format strings where the dynamic parts are just some hex numbers or such. However, there are a couple codepaths in the kernel where firmware file names contain string components that are passed through from a device or semi-privileged userspace; the ones I could find (not counting interfaces that require root privileges) are: - lpfc_sli4_request_firmware_update() seems to construct the firmware filename from "ModelName", a string that was previou

f2fs: Require FMODE_WRITE for atomic write ioctls

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: f2fs: Require FMODE_WRITE for atomic write ioctls The F2FS ioctls for starting and committing atomic writes check for inode_owner_or_capable(), but this does not give LSMs like SELinux or Landlock an opportunity to deny the write access - if the caller's FSUID matches the inode's UID, inode_owner_or_capable() immediately returns true. There are scenarios where LSMs want to deny a process the ability to write particular files, even files that the FSUID of the process owns; but this can currently partially be bypassed using atomic write ioctls in two ways: - F2FS_IOC_START

padata: use integer wrap around to prevent deadlock on seq_nr overflow

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: padata: use integer wrap around to prevent deadlock on seq_nr overflow When submitting more than 2^32 padata objects to padata_do_serial, the current sorting implementation incorrectly sorts padata objects with overflowed seq_nr, causing them to be placed before existing objects in the reorder list. This leads to a deadlock in the serialization process as padata_find_next cannot match padata->seq_nr and pd->processed because the padata instance with overflowed seq_nr will be selected next. To fix this, we use an unsigned integer wrap around to correctly sort padata objects

Then we missed to call cache_put here which pairs with cache_get. Reviwed-by: Jeff Layton <[email protected]>

bonding: Fix unnecessary warnings and logs from bond_xdp_get_xmit_slave()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bonding: Fix unnecessary warnings and logs from bond_xdp_get_xmit_slave() syzbot reported a WARNING in bond_xdp_get_xmit_slave. To reproduce this[1], one bond device (bond1) has xdpdrv, which increases bpf_master_redirect_enabled_key. Another bond device (bond0) which is unsupported by XDP but its slave (veth3) has xdpgeneric that returns XDP_TX. This triggers WARN_ON_ONCE() from the xdp_master_redirect(). To reduce unnecessary warnings and improve log management, we need to delete the WARN_ON_ONCE() and add ratelimit to the netdev_err(). [1] Steps to reproduce: # Need

jfs: fix out-of-bounds in dbNextAG() and diAlloc()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: jfs: fix out-of-bounds in dbNextAG() and diAlloc() In dbNextAG() , there is no check for the case where bmp->db_numag is greater or same than MAXAG due to a polluted image, which causes an out-of-bounds. Therefore, a bounds check should be added in dbMount(). And in dbNextAG(), a check for the case where agpref is greater than bmp->db_numag should be added, so an out-of-bounds exception should be prevented. Additionally, a check for the case where agno is greater or same than MAXAG should be added in diAlloc() to prevent out-of-bounds.

drm/amd/display: Add null check for set_output_gamma in dcn30_set_output_transfer_func

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Add null check for set_output_gamma in dcn30_set_output_transfer_func This commit adds a null check for the set_output_gamma function pointer in the dcn30_set_output_transfer_func function. Previously, set_output_gamma was being checked for nullity at line 386, but then it was being dereferenced without any nullity check at line 401. This could potentially lead to a null pointer dereference error if set_output_gamma is indeed null. To fix this, we now ensure that set_output_gamma is not null before dereferencing it. We do this by adding a nullity check fo

wifi: wilc1000: fix potential RCU dereference issue in wilc_parse_join_bss_param

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: wilc1000: fix potential RCU dereference issue in wilc_parse_join_bss_param In the `wilc_parse_join_bss_param` function, the TSF field of the `ies` structure is accessed after the RCU read-side critical section is unlocked. According to RCU usage rules, this is illegal. Reusing this pointer can lead to unpredictable behavior, including accessing memory that has been updated or causing use-after-free issues. This possible bug was identified using a static analysis tool developed by myself, specifically designed to detect RCU-related issues. To address this, the TSF va

block: fix potential invalid pointer dereference in blk_add_partition

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block: fix potential invalid pointer dereference in blk_add_partition The blk_add_partition() function initially used a single if-condition (IS_ERR(part)) to check for errors when adding a partition. This was modified to handle the specific case of -ENXIO separately, allowing the function to proceed without logging the error in this case. However, this change unintentionally left a path where md_autodetect_dev() could be called without confirming that part is a valid pointer. This commit separates the error handling logic by splitting the initial if-condition, improving co

drivers: media: dvb-frontends/rtl2832: fix an out-of-bounds write error

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drivers: media: dvb-frontends/rtl2832: fix an out-of-bounds write error Ensure index in rtl2832_pid_filter does not exceed 31 to prevent out-of-bounds access. dev->filters is a 32-bit value, so set_bit and clear_bit functions should only operate on indices from 0 to 31. If index is 32, it will attempt to access a non-existent 33rd bit, leading to out-of-bounds access. Change the boundary check from index > 32 to index >= 32 to resolve this issue.
