btrfs: fix deadlock in wait_current_trans() due to ignored transaction type

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: fix deadlock in wait_current_trans() due to ignored transaction type When wait_current_trans() is called during start_transaction(), it currently waits for a blocked transaction without considering whether the given transaction type actually needs to wait for that particular transaction state. The btrfs_blocked_trans_types[] array already defines which transaction types should wait for which transaction states, but this check was missing in wait_current_trans(). This can lead to a deadlock scenario involving two transactions and pending ordered extents: 1. Transa

libceph: make calc_target() set t->paused, not just clear it

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libceph: make calc_target() set t->paused, not just clear it Currently calc_target() clears t->paused if the request shouldn't be paused anymore, but doesn't ever set t->paused even though it's able to determine when the request should be paused. Setting t->paused is left to __submit_request() which is fine for regular requests but doesn't work for linger requests -- since __submit_request() doesn't operate on linger requests, there is nowhere for lreq->t.paused to be set. One consequence of this is that watches don't get reestablished on paused -> unpaused transitions in

pnfs/flexfiles: Fix memory leak in nfs4_ff_alloc_deviceid_node()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pnfs/flexfiles: Fix memory leak in nfs4_ff_alloc_deviceid_node() In nfs4_ff_alloc_deviceid_node(), if the allocation for ds_versions fails, the function jumps to the out_scratch label without freeing the already allocated dsaddrs list, leading to a memory leak. Fix this by jumping to the out_err_drain_dsaddrs label, which properly frees the dsaddrs list before cleaning up other resources.

dmaengine: omap-dma: fix dma_pool resource leak in error paths

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dmaengine: omap-dma: fix dma_pool resource leak in error paths The dma_pool created by dma_pool_create() is not destroyed when dma_async_device_register() or of_dma_controller_register() fails, causing a resource leak in the probe error paths. Add dma_pool_destroy() in both error paths to properly release the allocated dma_pool resource.

can: gs_usb: gs_usb_receive_bulk_callback(): fix URB memory leak

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: gs_usb: gs_usb_receive_bulk_callback(): fix URB memory leak In gs_can_open(), the URBs for USB-in transfers are allocated, added to the parent->rx_submitted anchor and submitted. In the complete callback gs_usb_receive_bulk_callback(), the URB is processed and resubmitted. In gs_can_close() the URBs are freed by calling usb_kill_anchored_urbs(parent->rx_submitted). However, this does not take into account that the USB framework unanchors the URB before the complete function is called. This means that once an in-URB has been completed, it is no longer anchored and is u

dmaengine: at_hdmac: fix device leak on of_dma_xlate()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dmaengine: at_hdmac: fix device leak on of_dma_xlate() Make sure to drop the reference taken when looking up the DMA platform device during of_dma_xlate() when releasing channel resources. Note that commit 3832b78b3ec2 ("dmaengine: at_hdmac: add missing put_device() call in at_dma_xlate()") fixed the leak in a couple of error paths but the reference is still leaking on successful allocation.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dmaengine: lpc18xx-dmamux: fix device leak on route allocation Make sure to drop the reference taken when looking up the DMA mux platform device during route allocation. Note that holding a reference to a device does not prevent its driver data from going away so there is no point in keeping the reference.

btrfs: fix NULL dereference on root when tracing inode eviction

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: fix NULL dereference on root when tracing inode eviction When evicting an inode the first thing we do is to setup tracing for it, which implies fetching the root's id. But in btrfs_evict_inode() the root might be NULL, as implied in the next check that we do in btrfs_evict_inode(). Hence, we either should set the ->root_objectid to 0 in case the root is NULL, or we move tracing setup after checking that the root is not NULL. Setting the rootid to 0 at least gives us the possibility to trace this call even in the case when the root is NULL, so that's the solution tak

btrfs: always detect conflicting inodes when logging inode refs

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: always detect conflicting inodes when logging inode refs After rename exchanging (either with the rename exchange operation or regular renames in multiple non-atomic steps) two inodes and at least one of them is a directory, we can end up with a log tree that contains only of the inodes and after a power failure that can result in an attempt to delete the other inode when it should not because it was not deleted before the power failure. In some case that delete attempt fails when the target inode is a directory that contains a subvolume inside it, since the log repl

Usage count = 2 even after commit 93a27b5891b8 ("can: j1939: add missing calls in NETDEV_UNREGISTER notification handler") was added. A debug printk() patch found that j1939_session_activate() can succeed even after j1939_cancel_active_session() from j1939_netdev_notify(NETDEV_UNREGISTER) has completed. ipv4: ip_gre: make ipgre_header() robust

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv4: ip_gre: make ipgre_header() robust Analog to commit db5b4e39c4e6 ("ip6_gre: make ip6gre_header() robust") Over the years, syzbot found many ways to crash the kernel in ipgre_header() [1]. This involves team or bonding drivers ability to dynamically change their dev->needed_headroom and/or dev->hard_header_len In this particular crash mld_newpack() allocated an skb with a too small reserve/headroom, and by the time mld_sendpack() was called, syzbot managed to attach an ipgre device. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: macvlan: fix possible UAF in macvlan_forward_source() Add RCU protection on (struct macvlan_source_entry)->vlan. Whenever macvlan_hash_del_source() is called, we must clear entry->vlan pointer before RCU grace period starts. This allows macvlan_forward_source() to skip over entries queued for freeing. libceph: make free_choose_arg_map() resilient to partial allocation

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libceph: make free_choose_arg_map() resilient to partial allocation free_choose_arg_map() may dereference a NULL pointer if its caller fails after a partial allocation. For example, in decode_choose_args(), if allocation of arg_map->args fails, execution jumps to the fail label and free_choose_arg_map() is called. Since arg_map->size is updated to a non-zero value before memory allocation, free_choose_arg_map() will iterate over arg_map->args and dereference a NULL pointer. To prevent this potential NULL pointer dereference and make free_choose_arg_map() more resilient, a

    nfsd: provide locking for v4_end_grace

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: provide locking for v4_end_grace Writing to v4_end_grace can race with server shutdown and result in memory being accessed after it was freed - reclaim_str_hashtbl in particularly. We cannot hold nfsd_mutex across the nfsd4_end_grace() call as that is held while client_tracking_op->init() is called and that can wait for an upcall to nfsdcltrack which can write to v4_end_grace, resulting in a deadlock. nfsd4_end_grace() is also called by the landromat work queue and this doesn't require locking as server shutdown will stop the work and wait for it before freeing anyt
