In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/vmscan: don't try to reclaim hwpoison folio Syzkaller reports a bug as follows: Injecting memory failure for pfn 0x18b00e at process virtual address 0x20ffd000 Memory failure: 0x18b00e: dirty swapcache page still referenced by 2 users Memory failure: 0x18b00e: recovery action for dirty swapcache page: Failed page: refcount:2 mapcount:0 mapping:0000000000000000 index:0x20ffd pfn:0x18b00e memcg:ffff0000dd6d9000 anon flags: 0x5ffffe00482011(locked|dirty|arch_1|swapbacked|hwpoison|node=0|zone=2|lastcpupid=0xfffff) raw: 005ffffe00482011 dead000000000100 dead000000000122 ffff
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/niu: Niu requires MSIX ENTRY_DATA fields touch before entry reads Fix niu_try_msix() to not cause a fatal trap on sparc systems. Set PCI_DEV_FLAGS_MSIX_TOUCH_ENTRY_DATA_FIRST on the struct pci_dev to work around a bug in the hardware or firmware. For each vector entry in the msix table, niu chips will cause a fatal trap if any registers in that entry are read before that entries' ENTRY_DATA register is written to. Testing indicates writes to other registers are not sufficient to prevent the fatal trap, however the value does not appear to matter. This only needs to ha
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net_sched: hfsc: Fix a potential UAF in hfsc_dequeue() too Similarly to the previous patch, we need to safe guard hfsc_dequeue() too. But for this one, we don't have a reliable reproducer.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: irqchip/gic-v2m: Prevent use after free of gicv2m_get_fwnode() With ACPI in place, gicv2m_get_fwnode() is registered with the pci subsystem as pci_msi_get_fwnode_cb(), which may get invoked at runtime during a PCI host bridge probe. But, the call back is wrongly marked as __init, causing it to be freed, while being registered with the PCI subsystem and could trigger: Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address ffff8000816c0400 gicv2m_get_fwnode+0x0/0x58 (P) pci_set_bus_msi_domain+0x74/0x88 pci_register_host_bridge+0x194/0x548 This is easily reproducib
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mcb: fix a double free bug in chameleon_parse_gdd() In chameleon_parse_gdd(), if mcb_device_register() fails, 'mdev' would be released in mcb_device_register() via put_device(). Thus, goto 'err' label and free 'mdev' again causes a double free. Just return if mcb_device_register() fails.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: dwc3: gadget: check that event count does not exceed event buffer length The event count is read from register DWC3_GEVNTCOUNT. There is a check for the count being zero, but not for exceeding the event buffer length. Check that event count does not exceed event buffer length, avoiding an out-of-bounds access when memcpy'ing the event. Crash log: Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address ffffffc0129be000 pc : __memcpy+0x114/0x180 lr : dwc3_check_event_buf+0xec/0x348 x3 : 0000000000000030 x2 : 000000000000dfc4 x1 : ffffffc0129be000 x0 : ffffff87aad60080
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: null - Use spin lock instead of mutex As the null algorithm may be freed in softirq context through af_alg, use spin locks instead of mutexes to protect the default null algorithm.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix kmemleak warning for percpu hashmap Vlad Poenaru reported the following kmemleak issue: unreferenced object 0x606fd7c44ac8 (size 32): backtrace (crc 0): pcpu_alloc_noprof+0x730/0xeb0 bpf_map_alloc_percpu+0x69/0xc0 prealloc_init+0x9d/0x1b0 htab_map_alloc+0x363/0x510 map_create+0x215/0x3a0 __sys_bpf+0x16b/0x3e0 __x64_sys_bpf+0x18/0x20 do_syscall_64+0x7b/0x150 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x4b/0x53 Further investigation shows the reason is due to not 8-byte aligned store of percpu pointer in htab_elem_set
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: driver core: fix potential NULL pointer dereference in dev_uevent() If userspace reads "uevent" device attribute at the same time as another threads unbinds the device from its driver, change to dev->driver from a valid pointer to NULL may result in crash. Fix this by using READ_ONCE() when fetching the pointer, and take bus' drivers klist lock to make sure driver instance will not disappear while we access it. Use WRITE_ONCE() when setting the driver pointer to ensure there is no tearing.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: target: Fix WRITE_SAME No Data Buffer crash In newer version of the SBC specs, we have a NDOB bit that indicates there is no data buffer that gets written out. If this bit is set using commands like "sg_write_same --ndob" we will crash in target_core_iblock/file's execute_write_same handlers when we go to access the se_cmd->t_data_sg because its NULL. This patch adds a check for the NDOB bit in the common WRITE SAME code because we don't support it. And, it adds a check for zero SG elements in each handler in case the initiator tries to send a normal WRITE SAME with
