team: prevent adding a device which is already a team device lower

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: team: prevent adding a device which is already a team device lower Prevent adding a device which is already a team device lower, e.g. adding veth0 if vlan1 was already added and veth0 is a lower of vlan1. This is not useful in practice and can lead to recursive locking: $ ip link add veth0 type veth peer name veth1 $ ip link set veth0 up $ ip link set veth1 up $ ip link add link veth0 name veth0.1 type vlan protocol 802.1Q id 1 $ ip link add team0 type team $ ip link set veth0.1 down $ ip link set veth0.1 master team0 team0: Port device veth0.1 added $ ip link set veth0 d

rtc: pcf85063: fix potential OOB write in PCF85063 NVMEM read

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rtc: pcf85063: fix potential OOB write in PCF85063 NVMEM read The nvmem interface supports variable buffer sizes, while the regmap interface operates with fixed-size storage. If an nvmem client uses a buffer size less than 4 bytes, regmap_read will write out of bounds as it expects the buffer to point at an unsigned int. Fix this by using an intermediary unsigned int to hold the value.

wifi: rtlwifi: fix memory leaks and invalid access at probe error path

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: rtlwifi: fix memory leaks and invalid access at probe error path Deinitialize at reverse order when probe fails. When init_sw_vars fails, rtl_deinit_core should not be called, specially now that it destroys the rtl_wq workqueue. And call rtl_pci_deinit and deinit_sw_vars, otherwise, memory will be leaked. Remove pci_set_drvdata call as it will already be cleaned up by the core driver code and could lead to memory leaks too. cf. commit 8d450935ae7f ("wireless: rtlwifi: remove unnecessary pci_set_drvdata()") and commit 3d86b93064c7 ("rtlwifi: Fix PCI probe error path

ubifs: skip dumping tnc tree when zroot is null

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ubifs: skip dumping tnc tree when zroot is null Clearing slab cache will free all znode in memory and make c->zroot.znode = NULL, then dumping tnc tree will access c->zroot.znode which cause null pointer dereference.

drm/amdgpu: Fix potential NULL pointer dereference in atomctrl_get_smc_sclk_range_table

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: Fix potential NULL pointer dereference in atomctrl_get_smc_sclk_range_table The function atomctrl_get_smc_sclk_range_table() does not check the return value of smu_atom_get_data_table(). If smu_atom_get_data_table() fails to retrieve SMU_Info table, it returns NULL which is later dereferenced. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE. In practice this should never happen as this code only gets called on polaris chips and the vbios data table will always be present on those chips.

ALSA: pcm: oss: Fix race at SNDCTL_DSP_SYNC

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: pcm: oss: Fix race at SNDCTL_DSP_SYNC There is a small race window at snd_pcm_oss_sync() that is called from OSS PCM SNDCTL_DSP_SYNC ioctl; namely the function calls snd_pcm_oss_make_ready() at first, then takes the params_lock mutex for the rest. When the stream is set up again by another thread between them, it leads to inconsistency, and may result in unexpected results such as NULL dereference of OSS buffer as a fuzzer spotted recently. The fix is simply to cover snd_pcm_oss_make_ready() call into the same params_lock mutex with snd_pcm_oss_make_ready_locked() v

batman-adv: Drop unmanaged ELP metric worker

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: batman-adv: Drop unmanaged ELP metric worker The ELP worker needs to calculate new metric values for all neighbors "reachable" over an interface. Some of the used metric sources require locks which might need to sleep. This sleep is incompatible with the RCU list iterator used for the recorded neighbors. The initial approach to work around of this problem was to queue another work item per neighbor and then run this in a new context. Even when this solved the RCU vs might_sleep() conflict, it has a major problems: Nothing was stopping the work item in case it is not needed

ptp: Ensure info->enable callback is always set

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ptp: Ensure info->enable callback is always set The ioctl and sysfs handlers unconditionally call the ->enable callback. Not all drivers implement that callback, leading to NULL dereferences. Example of affected drivers: ptp_s390.c, ptp_vclock.c and ptp_mock.c. Instead use a dummy callback if no better was specified by the driver.

For data cache, nilfs_clear_folio_dirty() may be called asynchronously when the file system degenerates to read only, so nilfs_lookup_dirty_data_buffers() still has the potential to cause use after free issues when buffers lose the protection of their dirty state midway due to this asynchronous clearing and are unintentionally freed by try_to_fre

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: PCI: rcar-ep: Fix incorrect variable used when calling devm_request_mem_region() The rcar_pcie_parse_outbound_ranges() uses the devm_request_mem_region() macro to request a needed resource. A string variable that lives on the stack is then used to store a dynamically computed resource name, which is then passed on as one of the macro arguments. This can lead to undefined behavior. Depending on the current contents of the memory, the manifestations of errors may vary. One possible output may be as follows: $ cat /proc/iomem 30000000-37ffffff : 38000000-3fffffff : So

net: hns3: fix oops when unload drivers paralleling

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: hns3: fix oops when unload drivers paralleling When unload hclge driver, it tries to disable sriov first for each ae_dev node from hnae3_ae_dev_list. If user unloads hns3 driver at the time, because it removes all the ae_dev nodes, and it may cause oops. But we can't simply use hnae3_common_lock for this. Because in the process flow of pci_disable_sriov(), it will trigger the remove flow of VF, which will also take hnae3_common_lock. To fixes it, introduce a new mutex to protect the unload process.

According to the bindings and the in-tree DTS files, the "emc-tables" node is always device's child node with the property "nvidia,use-ram-code", and the "lpddr2" node is a child of the "emc-tables" node. Thus utilize the for_each_child_of_node() macro and of_get_child_by_name() instead of of_find_node_by_

    NFSD: fix hang in nfsd4_shutdown_callback

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSD: fix hang in nfsd4_shutdown_callback If nfs4_client is in courtesy state then there is no point to send the callback. This causes nfsd4_shutdown_callback to hang since cl_cb_inflight is not 0. This hang lasts about 15 minutes until TCP notifies NFSD that the connection was dropped. This patch modifies nfsd4_run_cb_work to skip the RPC call if nfs4_client is in courtesy state.
