regmap: set debugfs_name to NULL after it is freed

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: regmap: set debugfs_name to NULL after it is freed There is a upstream commit cffa4b2122f5("regmap:debugfs: Fix a memory leak when calling regmap_attach_dev") that adds a if condition when create name for debugfs_name. With below function invoking logical, debugfs_name is freed in regmap_debugfs_exit(), but it is not created again because of the if condition introduced by above commit. regmap_reinit_cache() regmap_debugfs_exit() ... regmap_debugfs_init() So, set debugfs_name to NULL after it is freed.

crypto: qat - ADF_STATUS_PF_RUNNING should be set after adf_dev_init

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: qat - ADF_STATUS_PF_RUNNING should be set after adf_dev_init ADF_STATUS_PF_RUNNING is (only) used and checked by adf_vf2pf_shutdown() before calling adf_iov_putmsg()->mutex_lock(vf2pf_lock), however the vf2pf_lock is initialized in adf_dev_init(), which can fail and when it fail, the vf2pf_lock is either not initialized or destroyed, a subsequent use of vf2pf_lock will cause issue. To fix this issue, only set this flag if adf_dev_init() returns 0. [ 7.178404] BUG: KASAN: user-memory-access in __mutex_lock.isra.0+0x1ac/0x7c0 [ 7.180345] Call Trace: [ 7.1825

mtd: require write permissions for locking and badblock ioctls

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mtd: require write permissions for locking and badblock ioctls MEMLOCK, MEMUNLOCK and OTPLOCK modify protection bits. Thus require write permission. Depending on the hardware MEMLOCK might even be write-once, e.g. for SPI-NOR flashes with their WP# tied to GND. OTPLOCK is always write-once. MEMSETBADBLOCK modifies the bad block table.

bus: qcom: Put child node before return

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bus: qcom: Put child node before return Put child node before return to fix potential reference count leak. Generally, the reference count of child is incremented and decremented automatically in the macro for_each_available_child_of_node() and should be decremented manually if the loop is broken in loop body.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: m68k: mvme147,mvme16x: Don't wipe PCC timer config bits Don't clear the timer 1 configuration bits when clearing the interrupt flag and counter overflow. As Michael reported, "This results in no timer interrupts being delivered after the first. Initialization then hangs in calibrate_delay as the jiffies counter is not updated." On mvme16x, enable the timer after requesting the irq, consistent with mvme147.

PM: sleep: Fix possible deadlocks in core system-wide PM code

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: PM: sleep: Fix possible deadlocks in core system-wide PM code It is reported that in low-memory situations the system-wide resume core code deadlocks, because async_schedule_dev() executes its argument function synchronously if it cannot allocate memory (and not only in that case) and that function attempts to acquire a mutex that is already held. Executing the argument function synchronously from within dpm_async_fn() may also be problematic for ordering reasons (it may cause a consumer device's resume callback to be invoked before a requisite supplier device's one, for e

However, like most simple LZ77 algorithms, LZ4 expects the compressed data is arranged at the end of the decompressed buffer and it explicitly uses memmove() to handle overlapping: __________________________________________________________ |_ direction of decompression --> ____ |_ compressed data _| Although EROFS arranges compressed data like this, it typica

serial: sc16is7xx: convert from _raw_ to _noinc_ regmap functions for FIFO

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: serial: sc16is7xx: convert from _raw_ to _noinc_ regmap functions for FIFO The SC16IS7XX IC supports a burst mode to access the FIFOs where the initial register address is sent ($00), followed by all the FIFO data without having to resend the register address each time. In this mode, the IC doesn't increment the register address for each R/W byte. The regmap_raw_read() and regmap_raw_write() are functions which can perform IO over multiple registers. They are currently used to read/write from/to the FIFO, and although they operate correctly in this burst mode on the SPI bu

drm: Don't unref the same fb many times by mistake due to deadlock handling

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm: Don't unref the same fb many times by mistake due to deadlock handling If we get a deadlock after the fb lookup in drm_mode_page_flip_ioctl() we proceed to unref the fb and then retry the whole thing from the top. But we forget to reset the fb pointer back to NULL, and so if we then get another error during the retry, before the fb lookup, we proceed the unref the same fb again without having gotten another reference. The end result is that the fb will (eventually) end up being freed while it's still in use. Reset fb to NULL once we've unreffed it to avoid doing it ag

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: powermate - fix use-after-free in powermate_config_complete syzbot has found a use-after-free bug [1] in the powermate driver. This happens when the device is disconnected, which leads to a memory free from the powermate_device struct. When an asynchronous control message completes after the kfree and its callback is invoked, the lock does not exist anymore and hence the bug. Use usb_kill_urb() on pm->config to cancel any in-progress requests upon device disconnection. [1] https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?extid=0434ac83f907a1dbdd1e

powerpc/64s: Fix pte update for kernel memory on radix

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: powerpc/64s: Fix pte update for kernel memory on radix When adding a PTE a ptesync is needed to order the update of the PTE with subsequent accesses otherwise a spurious fault may be raised. radix__set_pte_at() does not do this for performance gains. For non-kernel memory this is not an issue as any faults of this kind are corrected by the page fault handler. For kernel memory these faults are not handled. The current solution is that there is a ptesync in flush_cache_vmap() which should be called when mapping from the vmalloc region. However, map_kernel_page() does not c
