ksmbd: fix out of bounds read in smb2_sess_setup

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix out of bounds read in smb2_sess_setup ksmbd does not consider the case of that smb2 session setup is in compound request. If this is the second payload of the compound, OOB read issue occurs while processing the first payload in the smb2_sess_setup().

ksmbd: fix wrong next length validation of ea buffer in smb2_set_ea()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix wrong next length validation of ea buffer in smb2_set_ea() There are multiple smb2_ea_info buffers in FILE_FULL_EA_INFORMATION request from client. ksmbd find next smb2_ea_info using ->NextEntryOffset of current smb2_ea_info. ksmbd need to validate buffer length Before accessing the next ea. ksmbd should check buffer length using buf_len, not next variable. next is the start offset of current ea that got from previous ea.

ksmbd: validate session id and tree id in the compound request

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: validate session id and tree id in the compound request This patch validate session id and tree id in compound request. If first operation in the compound is SMB2 ECHO request, ksmbd bypass session and tree validation. So work->sess and work->tcon could be NULL. If secound request in the compound access work->sess or tcon, It cause NULL pointer dereferecing error.

ksmbd: fix out-of-bound read in smb2_write

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix out-of-bound read in smb2_write ksmbd_smb2_check_message doesn't validate hdr->NextCommand. If ->NextCommand is bigger than Offset + Length of smb2 write, It will allow oversized smb2 write length. It will cause OOB read in smb2_write.

    ksmbd: validate command request size

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: validate command request size In commit 2b9b8f3b68ed ("ksmbd: validate command payload size"), except for SMB2_OPLOCK_BREAK_HE command, the request size of other commands is not checked, it's not expected. Fix it by add check for request size of other commands.

    ksmbd: call rcu_barrier() in ksmbd_server_exit()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: call rcu_barrier() in ksmbd_server_exit() racy issue is triggered the bug by racing between closing a connection and rmmod. In ksmbd, rcu_barrier() is not called at module unload time, so nothing prevents ksmbd from getting unloaded while it still has RCU callbacks pending. It leads to trigger unintended execution of kernel code locally and use to defeat protections such as Kernel Lockdown

Kernel: memory leak via ksmbd session setup request with unknown ntlmssp message type

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's ksmbd component. A memory leak can occur if a client sends a session setup request with an unknown NTLMSSP message type, potentially leading to resource exhaustion.

Kernel: ksmbd race issue from smb2 close and logoff with multichannel

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's ksmbd component. A race condition between smb2 close operation and logoff in multichannel connections could result in a use-after-free issue.

Kernel: ksmbd brute force delay bypass via asynchronous requests

A vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel's ksmbd component (kernel SMB/CIFS server). A security control designed to prevent dictionary attacks, which introduces a 5-second delay during session setup, can be bypassed through the use of asynchronous requests. This bypass negates the intended anti-brute-force protection, potentially allowing attackers to conduct dictionary attacks more efficiently against user credentials or other authentication mechanisms.

ext4: block range must be validated before use in ext4_mb_clear_bb()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: block range must be validated before use in ext4_mb_clear_bb() Block range to free is validated in ext4_free_blocks() using ext4_inode_block_valid() and then it's passed to ext4_mb_clear_bb(). However in some situations on bigalloc file system the range might be adjusted after the validation in ext4_free_blocks() which can lead to troubles on corrupted file systems such as one found by syzkaller that resulted in the following BUG kernel BUG at fs/ext4/ext4.h:3319! media: dw2102: Fix null-ptr-deref in dw2102_i2c_transfer()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: dw2102: Fix null-ptr-deref in dw2102_i2c_transfer() In dw2102_i2c_transfer, msg is controlled by user. When msg[i].buf is null and msg[i].len is zero, former checks on msg[i].buf would be passed. Malicious data finally reach dw2102_i2c_transfer. If accessing msg[i].buf[0] without sanity check, null ptr deref would happen. We add check on msg[i].len to prevent crash. Similar commit: commit 950e252cb469 ("[media] dw2102: limit messages to buffer size")

Bluetooth: btsdio: fix use after free bug in btsdio_remove due to race condition

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btsdio: fix use after free bug in btsdio_remove due to race condition In btsdio_probe, the data->work is bound with btsdio_work. It will be started in btsdio_send_frame. If the btsdio_remove runs with a unfinished work, there may be a race condition that hdev is freed but used in btsdio_work. Fix it by canceling the work before do cleanup in btsdio_remove.

ice: copy last block omitted in ice_get_module_eeprom()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ice: copy last block omitted in ice_get_module_eeprom() ice_get_module_eeprom() is broken since commit e9c9692c8a81 ("ice: Reimplement module reads used by ethtool") In this refactor, ice_get_module_eeprom() reads the eeprom in blocks of size 8. But the condition that should protect the buffer overflow ignores the last block. The last block always contains zeros. Bug uncovered by ethtool upstream commit 9538f384b535 ("netlink: eeprom: Defer page requests to individual parsers") After this commit, ethtool reads a block with length = 1; to read the SFF-8024 identifier value.
