    audit: fix possible soft lockup in __audit_inode_child()

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: audit: fix possible soft lockup in __audit_inode_child() Tracefs or debugfs maybe cause hundreds to thousands of PATH records, too many PATH records maybe cause soft lockup. For example: 1. CONFIG_KASAN=y && CONFIG_PREEMPTION=n 2. auditctl -a exit,always -S open -k key 3. sysctl -w kernel.watchdog_thresh=5 4. mkdir /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/instances/test There may be a soft lockup as follows: watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#45 stuck for 7s! [mkdir:15498] Kernel panic - not syncing: softlockup: hung tasks Call trace: dump_backtrace+0x0/0x30c show_stac

    spmi: Add a check for remove callback when removing a SPMI driver

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: spmi: Add a check for remove callback when removing a SPMI driver When removing a SPMI driver, there can be a crash due to NULL pointer dereference if it does not have a remove callback defined. This is one such call trace observed when removing the QCOM SPMI PMIC driver: dump_backtrace.cfi_jt+0x0/0x8 dump_stack_lvl+0xd8/0x16c panic+0x188/0x498 __cfi_slowpath+0x0/0x214 __cfi_slowpath+0x1dc/0x214 spmi_drv_remove+0x16c/0x1e0 device_release_driver_internal+0x468/0x79c driver_detach+0x11c/0x1a0 bus_remove_driver+0xc4/0x124 driver_unregister+0x58/0x84 cleanup_module+

    RDMA/siw: Fix immediate work request flush to completion queue

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/siw: Fix immediate work request flush to completion queue Correctly set send queue element opcode during immediate work request flushing in post sendqueue operation, if the QP is in ERROR state. An undefined ocode value results in out-of-bounds access to an array for mapping the opcode between siw internal and RDMA core representation in work completion generation. It resulted in a KASAN BUG report of type 'global-out-of-bounds' during NFSoRDMA testing. This patch further fixes a potential case of a malicious user which may write undefined values for completion queue

    usb: idmouse: fix an uninit-value in idmouse_open

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: idmouse: fix an uninit-value in idmouse_open In idmouse_create_image, if any ftip_command fails, it will go to the reset label. However, this leads to the data in bulk_in_buffer[HEADER..IMGSIZE] uninitialized. And the check for valid image incurs an uninitialized dereference. Fix this by moving the check before reset label since this check only be valid if the data after bulk_in_buffer[HEADER] has concrete data. Note that this is found by KMSAN, so only kernel compilation is tested.

    crypto: akcipher - default implementation for setting a private key

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: akcipher - default implementation for setting a private key Changes from v1: * removed the default implementation from set_pub_key: it is assumed that an implementation must always have this callback defined as there are no use case for an algorithm, which doesn't need a public key Many akcipher implementations (like ECDSA) support only signature verifications, so they don't have all callbacks defined. Commit 78a0324f4a53 ("crypto: akcipher - default implementations for request callbacks") introduced default callbacks for sign/verify operations, which ju

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/lcs: Fix return type of lcs_start_xmit() With clang's kernel control flow integrity (kCFI, CONFIG_CFI_CLANG), indirect call targets are validated against the expected function pointer prototype to make sure the call target is valid to help mitigate ROP attacks. If they are not identical, there is a failure at run time, which manifests as either a kernel panic or thread getting killed. A proposed warning in clang aims to catch these at compile time, which reveals: drivers/s390/net/lcs.c:2090:21: error: incompatible function pointer types initializing 'netdev_tx_t (*)

    net/mlx5: Fix possible use-after-free in async command interface

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5: Fix possible use-after-free in async command interface mlx5_cmd_cleanup_async_ctx should return only after all its callback handlers were completed. Before this patch, the below race between mlx5_cmd_cleanup_async_ctx and mlx5_cmd_exec_cb_handler was possible and lead to a use-after-free: 1. mlx5_cmd_cleanup_async_ctx is called while num_inflight is 2 (i.e. elevated by 1, a single inflight callback). 2. mlx5_cmd_cleanup_async_ctx decreases num_inflight to 1. 3. mlx5_cmd_exec_cb_handler is called, decreases num_inflight to 0 and is about to call wake_up(). 4

    can: j1939: j1939_tp_tx_dat_new(): fix out-of-bounds memory access

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: j1939: j1939_tp_tx_dat_new(): fix out-of-bounds memory access In the j1939_tp_tx_dat_new() function, an out-of-bounds memory access could occur during the memcpy() operation if the size of skb->cb is larger than the size of struct j1939_sk_buff_cb. This is because the memcpy() operation uses the size of skb->cb, leading to a read beyond the struct j1939_sk_buff_cb. Updated the memcpy() operation to use the size of struct j1939_sk_buff_cb instead of the size of skb->cb. This ensures that the memcpy() operation only reads the memory within the bounds of struct j1939_sk_

    btrfs: fix race when deleting quota root from the dirty cow roots list

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: fix race when deleting quota root from the dirty cow roots list When disabling quotas we are deleting the quota root from the list fs_info->dirty_cowonly_roots without taking the lock that protects it, which is struct btrfs_fs_info::trans_lock. This unsynchronized list manipulation may cause chaos if there's another concurrent manipulation of this list, such as when adding a root to it with ctree.c:add_root_to_dirty_list(). This can result in all sorts of weird failures caused by a race, such as the following crash: [337571.278245] general protection fault, proba
