iommu/vt-d: Avoid NULL pointer dereference or refcount corruption

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/vt-d: Avoid NULL pointer dereference or refcount corruption Commit 60f030f7418d ("iommu/vt-d: Avoid use of NULL after WARN_ON_ONCE") fixed a NULL pointer dereference in an unlikely situation partly. If dev_pasid is not found in the dev_pasids list, it remains NULL. However, the teardown operations are executed unconditionally, this lead to a NULL pointer dereference or refcount corruption. If the domain was never attached to this IOMMU, info will be NULL, which would cause an immediate dereference when checking --info->refcnt. Even if info is not NULL, decrementing

    erofs: fix use-after-free on sbi->sync_decompress

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: erofs: fix use-after-free on sbi->sync_decompress z_erofs_decompress_kickoff() can race with filesystem unmount, causing a use-after-free on sbi->sync_decompress. When I/O completes, z_erofs_endio() calls z_erofs_decompress_kickoff() to queue z_erofs_decompressqueue_work() asynchronously. Then, after all folios are unlocked, unmount workflow can proceed and sbi will be freed before accessing to sbi->sync_decompress. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: fix leak if split 6 GHz scanning fails rdev->int_scan_req is leaked if cfg80211_scan() fails. Note that it's supposed to be released at ___cfg80211_scan_done() but this doesn't happen as rdev->scan_req is NULL at that point, too, leading to the early return from the freeing function. unreferenced object 0xffff8881161d0800 (size 512): comm "wpa_supplicant", pid 379, jiffies 4294749765 hex dump (first 32 bytes): 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 f0 81 13 16 81 88 ff ff ................ backtrace (c

mm/huge_memory: update file PMD counter before folio_put()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/huge_memory: update file PMD counter before folio_put() __split_huge_pmd_locked() updates the file/shmem RSS counter after dropping the PMD mapping's folio reference. If folio_put() drops the last reference, mm_counter_file() can later read freed folio state via folio_test_swapbacked(). Move the counter update before folio_put().

drm/xe/display: fix oops in suspend/shutdown without display

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe/display: fix oops in suspend/shutdown without display The xe driver keeps track of whether to probe display, and whether display hardware is there, using xe->info.probe_display. It gets set to false if there's no display after intel_display_device_probe(). However, the display may also be disabled via fuses, detected at a later time in intel_display_device_info_runtime_init(). In this case, the xe driver does for_each_intel_crtc() on uninitialized mode config in xe_display_flush_cleanup_work(), leading to a NULL pointer dereference, and generally calls display code

drm/v3d: Skip CSD when it has zeroed workgroups

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/v3d: Skip CSD when it has zeroed workgroups A compute shader dispatch encodes its workgroup counts in the CFG0..CFG2 registers. Kicking off a dispatch with a zero count in any of the three dimensions is invalid. First, the hardware will process 0 as 65536, while the user-space driver exposes a maximum of 65535. Over that, a submission with a zeroed workgroup dimension should be a no-op. These zeroed counts can reach the dispatch path through an indirect CSD job, whose workgroup counts are only known once the indirect buffer is read and may legitimately be zero, but suc

fs/mbcache: cancel shrink work before destroying the cache

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs/mbcache: cancel shrink work before destroying the cache mb_cache_destroy() calls shrinker_free() and then frees all cache entries and the cache itself, but it does not cancel the pending c_shrink_work work item first. If mb_cache_entry_create() schedules c_shrink_work via schedule_work() and the work item is still pending or running when mb_cache_destroy() runs, mb_cache_shrink_worker() will access the cache after its memory has been freed, causing a use-after-free. This is only reachable by a privileged user (root or CAP_SYS_ADMIN) who can trigger the last put of a mo

    PCI: use generic driver_override infrastructure

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: PCI: use generic driver_override infrastructure When a driver is probed through __driver_attach(), the bus' match() callback is called without the device lock held, thus accessing the driver_override field without a lock, which can cause a UAF. Fix this by using the driver-core driver_override infrastructure taking care of proper locking internally. Note that calling match() from __driver_attach() without the device lock held is intentional. [1]

powerpc/64s: Fix unmap race with PMD migration entries

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: powerpc/64s: Fix unmap race with PMD migration entries The following race is possible with migration swap entries or device-private THP entries. e.g. when move_pages is called on a PMD THP page, then there maybe an intermediate state, where PMD entry acts as a migration swap entry (pmd_present() is true). Then if an munmap happens at the same time, then this VM_BUG_ON() can happen in pmdp_huge_get_and_clear_full(). This patch fixes that. wifi: libertas: don't kill URBs in interrupt context

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: libertas: don't kill URBs in interrupt context Serialization for the TX path was enforced by calling usb_kill_urb()/usb_kill_anchored_urbs(), to prevent transmission before a previous URB was completed. usb_tx_block() can be called from interrupt context (e.g. in the HCD giveback path), so we can't always use it to kill in-flight URBs. Prevent sleeping during interrupt context by checking the tx_submitted anchor for existing URBs. We now return -EBUSY, to indicate there's a pending request.

bpf: Do not allow deleting local storage in NMI

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Do not allow deleting local storage in NMI Currently, local storage may deadlock when deferring freeing selem or local storage through kfree_rcu(), call_rcu() or call_rcu_tasks_trace() in NMI or reentrant. Since deleting selem in NMI is an unlikely use case, partially mitigate it by returning error when calling from bpf_xxx_storage_delete() helpers in NMI. Note that, it is still possible to deadlock through reentrant. A full mitigation requires returning error when irqs_disabled() is true, which, however is too heavy-handed for bpf_xxx_storage_delete(). The long-term

If the caller already owns the same mutex, both sides block and no progress is possible. This deadlock can occur during station removal when mt76_sta_state() -> mt76_sta_remove() -> mt7925_mac_sta_remove_link() -> mt7925_mac_link_sta_remove() -> mt7925_roc_abort_sync() invokes cancel_work_sync() while roc_work() is still running and holding dev->mt76.mutex. net: pull headers in qdisc_pkt_len_segs_init()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: pull headers in qdisc_pkt_len_segs_init() Most ndo_start_xmit() methods expects headers of gso packets to be already in skb->head. net/core/tso.c users are particularly at risk, because tso_build_hdr() does a memcpy(hdr, skb->data, hdr_len); qdisc_pkt_len_segs_init() already does a dissection of gso packets. Use pskb_may_pull() instead of skb_header_pointer() to make sure drivers do not have to reimplement this. Some malicious packets could be fed, detect them so that we can drop them sooner with a new SKB_DROP_REASON_SKB_BAD_GSO drop_reason.
