netfilter: nfnetlink_log: initialize nfgenmsg in NLMSG_DONE terminator

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nfnetlink_log: initialize nfgenmsg in NLMSG_DONE terminator When batching multiple NFLOG messages (inst->qlen > 1), __nfulnl_send() appends an NLMSG_DONE terminator with sizeof(struct nfgenmsg) payload via nlmsg_put(), but never initializes the nfgenmsg bytes. The nlmsg_put() helper only zeroes alignment padding after the payload, not the payload itself, so four bytes of stale kernel heap data are leaked to userspace in the NLMSG_DONE message body. Use nfnl_msg_put() to build the NLMSG_DONE terminator, which initializes the nfgenmsg payload via nfnl_fill_hdr(),

l2tp: Drop large packets with UDP encap

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: l2tp: Drop large packets with UDP encap syzbot reported a WARN on my patch series [1]. The actual issue is an overflow of 16-bit UDP length field, and it exists in the upstream code. My series added a debug WARN with an overflow check that exposed the issue, that's why syzbot tripped on my patches, rather than on upstream code. syzbot's repro: r0 = socket$pppl2tp(0x18, 0x1, 0x1) r1 = socket$inet6_udp(0xa, 0x2, 0x0) connect$inet6(r1, &(0x7f00000000c0)={0xa, 0x0, 0x0, @loopback, 0xfffffffc}, 0x1c) connect$pppl2tp(r0, &(0x7f0000000240)=@pppol2tpin6={0x18, 0x1, {0x0, r1, 0x4,

perf/x86/intel/uncore: Skip discovery table for offline dies

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/x86/intel/uncore: Skip discovery table for offline dies This warning can be triggered if NUMA is disabled and the system boots with fewer CPUs than the number of CPUs in die 0. WARNING: CPU: 9 PID: 7257 at uncore.c:1157 uncore_pci_pmu_register+0x136/0x160 [intel_uncore] Currently, the discovery table continues to be parsed even if all CPUs in the associated die are offline. This can lead to an array overflow at "pmu->boxes[die] = box" in uncore_pci_pmu_register(), which may trigger the warning above or cause other issues.

ocfs2: validate inline data i_size during inode read

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: validate inline data i_size during inode read When reading an inode from disk, ocfs2_validate_inode_block() performs various sanity checks but does not validate the size of inline data. If the filesystem is corrupted, an inode's i_size can exceed the actual inline data capacity (id_count). This causes ocfs2_dir_foreach_blk_id() to iterate beyond the inline data buffer, triggering a use-after-free when accessing directory entries from freed memory. In the syzbot report: - i_size was 1099511627576 bytes (~1TB) - Actual inline data capacity (id_count) is typicall

    ocfs2: fix out-of-bounds write in ocfs2_write_end_inline

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: fix out-of-bounds write in ocfs2_write_end_inline KASAN reports a use-after-free write of 4086 bytes in ocfs2_write_end_inline, called from ocfs2_write_end_nolock during a copy_file_range splice fallback on a corrupted ocfs2 filesystem mounted on a loop device. The actual bug is an out-of-bounds write past the inode block buffer, not a true use-after-free. The write overflows into an adjacent freed page, which KASAN reports as UAF. The root cause is that ocfs2_try_to_write_inline_data trusts the on-disk id_count field to determine whether a write fits in inline da

x86-64: rename misleadingly named '__copy_user_nocache()' function

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86-64: rename misleadingly named '__copy_user_nocache()' function This function was a masterclass in bad naming, for various historical reasons. It claimed to be a non-cached user copy. It is literally _neither_ of those things. It's a specialty memory copy routine that uses non-temporal stores for the destination (but not the source), and that does exception handling for both source and destination accesses. Also note that while it works for unaligned targets, any unaligned parts (whether at beginning or end) will not use non-temporal stores, since only words and quad

ext4: handle wraparound when searching for blocks for indirect mapped blocks

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: handle wraparound when searching for blocks for indirect mapped blocks Commit 4865c768b563 ("ext4: always allocate blocks only from groups inode can use") restricts what blocks will be allocated for indirect block based files to block numbers that fit within 32-bit block numbers. However, when using a review bot running on the latest Gemini LLM to check this commit when backporting into an LTS based kernel, it raised this concern: If ac->ac_g_ex.fe_group is >= ngroups (for instance, if the goal group was populated via stream allocation from s_mb_last_groups),

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: fix iloc.bh leak in ext4_fc_replay_inode() error paths During code review, Joseph found that ext4_fc_replay_inode() calls ext4_get_fc_inode_loc() to get the inode location, which holds a reference to iloc.bh that must be released via brelse(). In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: L2CAP: Fix type confusion in l2cap_ecred_reconf_rsp() l2cap_ecred_reconf_rsp() casts the incoming data to struct l2cap_ecred_conn_rsp (the ECRED *connection* response, 8 bytes with result at offset 6) instead of struct l2cap_ecred_reconf_rsp (2 bytes with result at offset 0). This causes two problems: - The sizeof(*rsp) length check requires 8 bytes instead of the correct 2, so valid L2CAP_ECRED_RECONF_RSP packets are rejected with -EPROTO. - rsp->result reads from offset 6 instead of offset 0, returning wrong data when the packet is large enough to

serial: 8250: Fix TX deadlock when using DMA

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: serial: 8250: Fix TX deadlock when using DMA `dmaengine_terminate_async` does not guarantee that the `__dma_tx_complete` callback will run. The callback is currently the only place where `dma->tx_running` gets cleared. If the transaction is canceled and the callback never runs, then `dma->tx_running` will never get cleared and we will never schedule new TX DMA transactions again. This change makes it so we clear `dma->tx_running` after we terminate the DMA transaction. This is "safe" because `serial8250_tx_dma_flush` is holding the UART port lock. The first thing the callb

netfilter: nft_ct: drop pending enqueued packets on removal

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nft_ct: drop pending enqueued packets on removal Packets sitting in nfqueue might hold a reference to: - templates that specify the conntrack zone, because a percpu area is used and module removal is possible. - conntrack timeout policies and helper, where object removal leave a stale reference. Since these objects can just go away, drop enqueued packets to avoid stale reference to them. If there is a need for finer grain removal, this logic can be revisited to make selective packet drop upon dependencies.

media: vidtv: fix pass-by-value structs causing MSAN warnings

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: vidtv: fix pass-by-value structs causing MSAN warnings vidtv_ts_null_write_into() and vidtv_ts_pcr_write_into() take their argument structs by value, causing MSAN to report uninit-value warnings. While only vidtv_ts_null_write_into() has triggered a report so far, both functions share the same issue. Fix by passing both structs by const pointer instead, avoiding the stack copy of the struct along with its MSAN shadow and origin metadata. The functions do not modify the structs, which is enforced by the const qualifier.

net: mana: fix use-after-free in add_adev() error path

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: mana: fix use-after-free in add_adev() error path If auxiliary_device_add() fails, add_adev() jumps to add_fail and calls auxiliary_device_uninit(adev). The auxiliary device has its release callback set to adev_release(), which frees the containing struct mana_adev. Since adev is embedded in struct mana_adev, the subsequent fall-through to init_fail and access to adev->id may result in a use-after-free. Fix this by saving the allocated auxiliary device id in a local variable before calling auxiliary_device_add(), and use that saved id in the cleanup path after auxili
