KVM: SVM: Add missing save/restore handling of LBR MSRs

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: SVM: Add missing save/restore handling of LBR MSRs MSR_IA32_DEBUGCTLMSR and LBR MSRs are currently not enumerated by KVM_GET_MSR_INDEX_LIST, and LBR MSRs cannot be set with KVM_SET_MSRS. So save/restore is completely broken. Fix it by adding the MSRs to msrs_to_save_base, and allowing writes to LBR MSRs from userspace only (as they are read-only MSRs) if LBR virtualization is enabled. Additionally, to correctly restore L1's LBRs while L2 is running, make sure the LBRs are copied from the captured VMCB01 save area in svm_copy_vmrun_state(). Note, for VMX, this also f

drm/nouveau: fix u32 overflow in pushbuf reloc bounds check

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/nouveau: fix u32 overflow in pushbuf reloc bounds check nouveau_gem_pushbuf_reloc_apply() validates each relocation with if (r->reloc_bo_offset + 4 > nvbo->bo.base.size) but reloc_bo_offset is __u32 (uapi/drm/nouveau_drm.h) and the integer literal 4 promotes to unsigned int, so the addition is performed in 32 bits and wraps before the comparison against the size_t bo size. Cast to u64 so the addition happens in 64-bit arithmetic. [ Add Fixes: tag. - Danilo ]

ALSA: caiaq: Handle probe errors properly

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: caiaq: Handle probe errors properly The probe procedure of setup_card() in caiaq driver doesn't treat the error cases gracefully, e.g. the error from snd_card_register() calls snd_card_free() but continues. This would lead to a UAF for the further calls like snd_usb_caiaq_control_init(), as Berk suggested in another patch in the link below. However, the problem is not only that; in general, this function drops the all error handlings (as it's a void function) although its caller can propagate an error to snd_probe(), which eventually calls snd_card_free() as a prope

ext2: reject inodes with zero i_nlink and valid mode in ext2_iget()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext2: reject inodes with zero i_nlink and valid mode in ext2_iget() ext2_iget() already rejects inodes with i_nlink == 0 when i_mode is zero or i_dtime is set, treating them as deleted. However, the case of i_nlink == 0 with a non-zero mode and zero dtime slips through. Since ext2 has no orphan list, such a combination can only result from filesystem corruption - a legitimate inode deletion always sets either i_dtime or clears i_mode before freeing the inode. A crafted image can exploit this gap to present such an inode to the VFS, which then triggers WARN_ON inside drop_n

rxrpc: Fix conn-level packet handling to unshare RESPONSE packets

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rxrpc: Fix conn-level packet handling to unshare RESPONSE packets The security operations that verify the RESPONSE packets decrypt bits of it in place - however, the sk_buff may be shared with a packet sniffer, which would lead to the sniffer seeing an apparently corrupt packet (actually decrypted). Fix this by handing a copy of the packet off to the specific security handler if the packet was cloned.

scsi: sd: fix missing put_disk() when device_add(&disk_dev) fails

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: sd: fix missing put_disk() when device_add(&disk_dev) fails If device_add(&sdkp->disk_dev) fails, put_device() runs scsi_disk_release(), which frees the scsi_disk but leaves the gendisk referenced. The device_add_disk() error path in sd_probe() calls put_disk(gd); call put_disk(gd) here to mirror that cleanup.

ibmasm: fix OOB reads in command_file_write due to missing size checks

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ibmasm: fix OOB reads in command_file_write due to missing size checks The command_file_write() handler allocates a kernel buffer of exactly count bytes and copies user data into it, but does not validate the buffer against the dot command protocol before passing it to get_dot_command_size() and get_dot_command_timeout(). Since both the allocation size (count) and the header fields (command_size, data_size) are independently user-controlled, an attacker can cause get_dot_command_size() to return a value exceeding the allocation, triggering OOB reads in get_dot_command_time

udf: fix partition descriptor append bookkeeping

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: udf: fix partition descriptor append bookkeeping Mounting a crafted UDF image with repeated partition descriptors can trigger a heap out-of-bounds write in part_descs_loc[]. handle_partition_descriptor() deduplicates entries by partition number, but appended slots never record partnum. As a result duplicate Partition Descriptors are appended repeatedly and num_part_descs keeps growing. Once the table is full, the growth path still sizes the allocation from partnum even though inserts are indexed by num_part_descs. If partnum is already aligned to PART_DESC_ALLOC_STEP, ALI

rxrpc: Fix re-decryption of RESPONSE packets

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rxrpc: Fix re-decryption of RESPONSE packets If a RESPONSE packet gets a temporary failure during processing, it may end up in a partially decrypted state - and then get requeued for a retry. Fix this by just discarding the packet; we will send another CHALLENGE packet and thereby elicit a further response. Similarly, discard an incoming CHALLENGE packet if we get an error whilst generating a RESPONSE; the server will send another CHALLENGE.

gfs2: Fix use-after-free in iomap inline data write path

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gfs2: Fix use-after-free in iomap inline data write path The inline data buffer head (dibh) is being released prematurely in gfs2_iomap_begin() via release_metapath() while iomap->inline_data still points to dibh->b_data. This causes a use-after-free when iomap_write_end_inline() later attempts to write to the inline data area. The bug sequence: 1. gfs2_iomap_begin() calls gfs2_meta_inode_buffer() to read inode metadata into dibh 2. Sets iomap->inline_data = dibh->b_data + sizeof(struct gfs2_dinode) 3. Calls release_metapath() which calls brelse(dibh), dropping refcount

nfsd: never defer requests during idmap lookup

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: never defer requests during idmap lookup During v4 request compound arg decoding, some ops (e.g. SETATTR) can trigger idmap lookup upcalls. When those upcall responses get delayed beyond the allowed time limit, cache_check() will mark the request for deferral and cause it to be dropped. This prevents nfs4svc_encode_compoundres from being executed, and thus the session slot flag NFSD4_SLOT_INUSE never gets cleared. Subsequent client requests will fail with NFSERR_JUKEBOX, given that the slot will be marked as in-use, making the SEQUENCE op fail. Fix this by making su

s390/cio: Fix device lifecycle handling in css_alloc_subchannel()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/cio: Fix device lifecycle handling in css_alloc_subchannel() `css_alloc_subchannel()` calls `device_initialize()` before setting up the DMA masks. If `dma_set_coherent_mask()` or `dma_set_mask()` fails, the error path frees the subchannel structure directly, bypassing the device model reference counting. Once `device_initialize()` has been called, the embedded struct device must be released via `put_device()`, allowing the release callback to free the container structure. Fix the error path by dropping the initial device reference with `put_device()` instead of calli

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: greybus: lights: avoid NULL deref gb_lights_light_config() stores channel_count before allocating the channels array. If kcalloc() fails, gb_lights_release() iterates the non-zero count and dereferences light->channels, which is NULL. bonding: alb: fix UAF in rlb_arp_recv during bond up/down

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bonding: alb: fix UAF in rlb_arp_recv during bond up/down The ALB RX path may access rx_hashtbl concurrently with bond teardown. During rapid bond up/down cycles, rlb_deinitialize() frees rx_hashtbl while RX handlers are still running, leading to a null pointer dereference detected by KASAN. However, the root cause is that rlb_arp_recv() can still be accessed after setting recv_probe to NULL, which is actually a use-after-free (UAF) issue. That is the reason for using the referenced commit in the Fixes tag. [ 214.174138] Oops: general protection fault, probably for non-c

cpuidle: Skip governor when only one idle state is available

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cpuidle: Skip governor when only one idle state is available On certain platforms (PowerNV systems without a power-mgt DT node), cpuidle may register only a single idle state. In cases where that single state is a polling state (state 0), the ladder governor may incorrectly treat state 1 as the first usable state and pass an out-of-bounds index. This can lead to a NULL enter callback being invoked, ultimately resulting in a system crash.
