vc_screen: move load of struct vc_data pointer in vcs_read() to avoid UAF

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vc_screen: move load of struct vc_data pointer in vcs_read() to avoid UAF After a call to console_unlock() in vcs_read() the vc_data struct can be freed by vc_deallocate(). Because of that, the struct vc_data pointer load must be done at the top of while loop in vcs_read() to avoid a UAF when vcs_size() is called. Syzkaller reported a UAF in vcs_size(). BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in vcs_size (drivers/tty/vt/vc_screen.c:215) Read of size 4 at addr ffff8881137479a8 by task 4a005ed81e27e65/1537 CPU: 0 PID: 1537 Comm: 4a005ed81e27e65 Not tainted 6.2.0-rc5 #1 Hardware name: R

btrfs: always report error in run_one_delayed_ref()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: always report error in run_one_delayed_ref() Currently we have a btrfs_debug() for run_one_delayed_ref() failure, but if end users hit such problem, there will be no chance that btrfs_debug() is enabled. This can lead to very little useful info for debugging. This patch will: - Add extra info for error reporting Including: * logical bytenr * num_bytes * type * action * ref_mod - Replace the btrfs_debug() with btrfs_err() - Move the error reporting into run_one_delayed_ref() This is to avoid use-after-free, the @node can be freed in the caller. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: EDAC/highbank: Fix memory leak in highbank_mc_probe() When devres_open_group() fails, it returns -ENOMEM without freeing memory allocated by edac_mc_alloc(). Call edac_mc_free() on the error handling path to avoid a memory leak. [ bp: Massage commit message. ]

usb: gadget: f_fs: Prevent race during ffs_ep0_queue_wait

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: gadget: f_fs: Prevent race during ffs_ep0_queue_wait While performing fast composition switch, there is a possibility that the process of ffs_ep0_write/ffs_ep0_read get into a race condition due to ep0req being freed up from functionfs_unbind. Consider the scenario that the ffs_ep0_write calls the ffs_ep0_queue_wait by taking a lock &ffs->ev.waitq.lock. However, the functionfs_unbind isn't bounded so it can go ahead and mark the ep0req to NULL, and since there is no NULL check in ffs_ep0_queue_wait we will end up in use-after-free. Fix this by making a serialized exe

dmaengine: Fix double increment of client_count in dma_chan_get()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dmaengine: Fix double increment of client_count in dma_chan_get() The first time dma_chan_get() is called for a channel the channel client_count is incorrectly incremented twice for public channels, first in balance_ref_count(), and again prior to returning. This results in an incorrect client count which will lead to the channel resources not being freed when they should be. A simple test of repeated module load and unload of async_tx on a Dell Power Edge R7425 also shows this resulting in a kref underflow warning. [ 124.329662] async_tx: api initialized (async) [ 12

i2c: designware: use casting of u64 in clock multiplication to avoid overflow

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i2c: designware: use casting of u64 in clock multiplication to avoid overflow In functions i2c_dw_scl_lcnt() and i2c_dw_scl_hcnt() may have overflow by depending on the values of the given parameters including the ic_clk. For example in our use case where ic_clk is larger than one million, multiplication of ic_clk * 4700 will result in 32 bit overflow. Add cast of u64 to the calculation to avoid multiplication overflow, and use the corresponding define for divide.

perf/x86/amd: fix potential integer overflow on shift of a int

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/x86/amd: fix potential integer overflow on shift of a int The left shift of int 32 bit integer constant 1 is evaluated using 32 bit arithmetic and then passed as a 64 bit function argument. In the case where i is 32 or more this can lead to an overflow. Avoid this by shifting using the BIT_ULL macro instead.

wifi: brcmfmac: Check the count value of channel spec to prevent out-of-bounds reads

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: brcmfmac: Check the count value of channel spec to prevent out-of-bounds reads This patch fixes slab-out-of-bounds reads in brcmfmac that occur in brcmf_construct_chaninfo() and brcmf_enable_bw40_2g() when the count value of channel specifications provided by the device is greater than the length of 'list->element[]', decided by the size of the 'list' allocated with kzalloc(). The patch adds checks that make the functions free the buffer and return -EINVAL if that is the case. Note that the negative return is handled by the caller, brcmf_setup_wiphybands() or brcmf_cf

gfs2: Always check inode size of inline inodes

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gfs2: Always check inode size of inline inodes Check if the inode size of stuffed (inline) inodes is within the allowed range when reading inodes from disk (gfs2_dinode_in()). This prevents us from on-disk corruption. The two checks in stuffed_readpage() and gfs2_unstuffer_page() that just truncate inline data to the maximum allowed size don't actually make sense, and they can be removed now as well.
