    wifi: iwlegacy: Clear stale interrupts before resuming device

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlegacy: Clear stale interrupts before resuming device iwl4965 fails upon resume from hibernation on my laptop. The reason seems to be a stale interrupt which isn't being cleared out before interrupts are enabled. We end up with a race beween the resume trying to bring things back up, and the restart work (queued form the interrupt handler) trying to bring things down. Eventually the whole thing blows up. Fix the problem by clearing out any stale interrupts before interrupts get enabled during resume. Here's a debug log of the indicent: [ 12.042589] ieee80211 phy

    staging: iio: frequency: ad9832: fix division by zero in ad9832_calc_freqreg()

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: iio: frequency: ad9832: fix division by zero in ad9832_calc_freqreg() In the ad9832_write_frequency() function, clk_get_rate() might return 0. This can lead to a division by zero when calling ad9832_calc_freqreg(). The check if (fout > (clk_get_rate(st->mclk) / 2)) does not protect against the case when fout is 0. The ad9832_write_frequency() function is called from ad9832_write(), and fout is derived from a text buffer, which can contain any value.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: adc: ad7124: fix division by zero in ad7124_set_channel_odr() In the ad7124_write_raw() function, parameter val can potentially be zero. This may lead to a division by zero when DIV_ROUND_CLOSEST() is called within ad7124_set_channel_odr(). The ad7124_write_raw() function is invoked through the sequence: iio_write_channel_raw() -> iio_write_channel_attribute() -> iio_channel_write(), with no checks in place to ensure val is non-zero.

    nilfs2: fix kernel bug due to missing clearing of checked flag

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nilfs2: fix kernel bug due to missing clearing of checked flag Syzbot reported that in directory operations after nilfs2 detects filesystem corruption and degrades to read-only, __block_write_begin_int(), which is called to prepare block writes, may fail the BUG_ON check for accesses exceeding the folio/page size, triggering a kernel bug. This was found to be because the "checked" flag of a page/folio was not cleared when it was discarded by nilfs2's own routine, which causes the sanity check of directory entries to be skipped when the directory page/folio is reloaded. So

    nilfs2: fix potential deadlock with newly created symlinks

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nilfs2: fix potential deadlock with newly created symlinks Syzbot reported that page_symlink(), called by nilfs_symlink(), triggers memory reclamation involving the filesystem layer, which can result in circular lock dependencies among the reader/writer semaphore nilfs->ns_segctor_sem, s_writers percpu_rwsem (intwrite) and the fs_reclaim pseudo lock. This is because after commit 21fc61c73c39 ("don't put symlink bodies in pagecache into highmem"), the gfp flags of the page cache for symbolic links are overwritten to GFP_KERNEL via inode_nohighmem(). This is not a problem f

    ocfs2: pass u64 to ocfs2_truncate_inline maybe overflow

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: pass u64 to ocfs2_truncate_inline maybe overflow Syzbot reported a kernel BUG in ocfs2_truncate_inline. There are two reasons for this: first, the parameter value passed is greater than ocfs2_max_inline_data_with_xattr, second, the start and end parameters of ocfs2_truncate_inline are "unsigned int". So, we need to add a sanity check for byte_start and byte_len right before ocfs2_truncate_inline() in ocfs2_remove_inode_range(), if they are greater than ocfs2_max_inline_data_with_xattr return -EINVAL.

There will be a single PDE page address (contiguous pages in the case of > PAGE_SIZE), but, current logic assumes multiple pages, leading to invalid memory access after 256K PBL entries in the PDE.

    ALSA: firewire-lib: Avoid division by zero in apply_constraint_to_size()

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: firewire-lib: Avoid division by zero in apply_constraint_to_size() The step variable is initialized to zero. It is changed in the loop, but if it's not changed it will remain zero. Add a variable check before the division. The observed behavior was introduced by commit 826b5de90c0b ("ALSA: firewire-lib: fix insufficient PCM rule for period/buffer size"), and it is difficult to show that any of the interval parameters will satisfy the snd_interval_test() condition with data from the amdtp_rate_table[] table. nilfs2: propagate directory read errors from nilfs_find_entry()

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nilfs2: propagate directory read errors from nilfs_find_entry() Syzbot reported that a task hang occurs in vcs_open() during a fuzzing test for nilfs2. The root cause of this problem is that in nilfs_find_entry(), which searches for directory entries, ignores errors when loading a directory page/folio via nilfs_get_folio() fails. If the filesystem images is corrupted, and the i_size of the directory inode is large, and the directory page/folio is successfully read but fails the sanity check, for example when it is zero-filled, nilfs_check_folio() may continue to spit out

    drm/radeon: Fix encoder->possible_clones

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/radeon: Fix encoder->possible_clones Include the encoder itself in its possible_clones bitmask. In the past nothing validated that drivers were populating possible_clones correctly, but that changed in commit 74d2aacbe840 ("drm: Validate encoder->possible_clones"). Looks like radeon never got the memo and is still not following the rules 100% correctly. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/swapfile: skip HugeTLB pages for unuse_vma I got a bad pud error and lost a 1GB HugeTLB when calling swapoff. The problem can be reproduced by the following steps: 1. Allocate an anonymous 1GB HugeTLB and some other anonymous memory. 2. Swapout the above anonymous memory. 3. run swapoff and we will get a bad pud error in kernel message: mm/pgtable-generic.c:42: bad pud 00000000743d215d(84000001400000e7) We can tell that pud_clear_bad is called by pud_none_or_clear_bad in unuse_pud_range() by ftrace. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: light: veml6030: fix IIO device retrieval from embedded device The dev pointer that is received as an argument in the in_illuminance_period_available_show function references the device embedded in the IIO device, not in the i2c client. dev_to_iio_dev() must be used to accessthe right data. The current implementation leads to a segmentation fault on every attempt to read the attribute because indio_dev gets a NULL assignment. This bug has been present since the first appearance of the driver, apparently since the last version (V6) before getting applied. A constant a

    pinctrl: ocelot: fix system hang on level based interrupts

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pinctrl: ocelot: fix system hang on level based interrupts The current implementation only calls chained_irq_enter() and chained_irq_exit() if it detects pending interrupts. ``` for (i = 0; i < info->stride; i++) { uregmap_read(info->map, id_reg + 4 * i, &reg); if (!reg) continue; chained_irq_enter(parent_chip, desc); ``` However, in case of GPIO pin configured in level mode and the parent controller configured in edge mode, GPIO interrupt might be lowered by the hardware. In the result, if the interrupt is short enough, the parent interrupt is still pending while t

    posix-clock: Fix missing timespec64 check in pc_clock_settime()

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: posix-clock: Fix missing timespec64 check in pc_clock_settime() As Andrew pointed out, it will make sense that the PTP core checked timespec64 struct's tv_sec and tv_nsec range before calling ptp->info->settime64(). As the man manual of clock_settime() said, if tp.tv_sec is negative or tp.tv_nsec is outside the range [0..999,999,999], it should return EINVAL, which include dynamic clocks which handles PTP clock, and the condition is consistent with timespec64_valid(). As Thomas suggested, timespec64_valid() only check the timespec is valid, but not ensure that the time is
