tcp: secure_seq: add back ports to TS offset

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tcp: secure_seq: add back ports to TS offset This reverts 28ee1b746f49 ("secure_seq: downgrade to per-host timestamp offsets") tcp_tw_recycle went away in 2017. Zhouyan Deng reported off-path TCP source port leakage via SYN cookie side-channel that can be fixed in multiple ways. One of them is to bring back TCP ports in TS offset randomization. As a bonus, we perform a single siphash() computation to provide both an ISN and a TS offset.

tls: Fix race condition in tls_sw_cancel_work_tx()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tls: Fix race condition in tls_sw_cancel_work_tx() This issue was discovered during a code audit. After cancel_delayed_work_sync() is called from tls_sk_proto_close(), tx_work_handler() can still be scheduled from paths such as the Delayed ACK handler or ksoftirqd. As a result, the tx_work_handler() worker may dereference a freed TLS object. xattr: switch to CLASS(fd)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs/xattr: missing fdput() in fremovexattr error path In the Linux kernel, the fremovexattr() syscall calls fdget() to acquire a file reference but returns early without calling fdput() when strncpy_from_user() fails on the name argument. In multi-threaded processes where fdget() takes the slow path, this permanently leaks one file reference per call, pinning the struct file and associated kernel objects in memory. An unprivileged local user can exploit this to cause kernel memory exhaustion. The issue was inadvertently fixed by commit a71874379ec8 ("xattr: switch to CLASS(f

    Nfs-utils: rpc.mountd in the nfs-utils privilege escalation

A vulnerability was recently discovered in the rpc.mountd daemon in the nfs-utils package for Linux, that allows a NFSv3 client to escalate the privileges assigned to it in the /etc/exports file at mount time. In particular, it allows the client to access any subdirectory or subtree of an exported directory, regardless of the set file permissions, and regardless of any 'root_squash' or 'all_squash' attributes that would normally be expected to apply to that client.

Kernel: secure boot does not automatically enable kernel lockdown

The Linux Kernel lockdown mode for kernel versions starting on 6.12 and above for Fedora Linux has the lockdown mode disabled without any warning. This may allow an attacker to gain access to sensitive information such kernel memory mappings, I/O ports, BPF and kprobes. Additionally unsigned modules can be loaded, leading to execution of untrusted code breaking breaking any Secure Boot protection. This vulnerability affects only Fedora Linux.

riscv: trace: fix snapshot deadlock with sbi ecall

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: riscv: trace: fix snapshot deadlock with sbi ecall If sbi_ecall.c's functions are traceable, echo "__sbi_ecall:snapshot" > /sys/kernel/tracing/set_ftrace_filter may get the kernel into a deadlock. (Functions in sbi_ecall.c are excluded from tracing if CONFIG_RISCV_ALTERNATIVE_EARLY is set.) __sbi_ecall triggers a snapshot of the ringbuffer. The snapshot code raises an IPI interrupt, which results in another call to __sbi_ecall and another snapshot... All it takes to get into this endless loop is one initial __sbi_ecall. wifi: mac80211: don't WARN for connections on invalid channels

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: don't WARN for connections on invalid channels It's not clear (to me) how exactly syzbot managed to hit this, but it seems conceivable that e.g. regulatory changed and has disabled a channel between scanning (channel is checked to be usable by cfg80211_get_ies_channel_number) and connecting on the channel later. With one scenario that isn't covered elsewhere described above, the warning isn't good, replace it with a (more informative) error message.

ALSA: usb-audio: Prevent excessive number of frames

The buffer size for each data URB is maxpacksize * packets, which in this example is 40 * 6 = 240; When the user performs a write operation to send audio data into the ALSA PCM playback stream, the calculated number of frames is packsize[0] * packets = 264, which exceeds the allocated URB buffer size, triggering the out-of-bounds (OOB) issue reported by syzbot [1]. wifi: mac80211: correctly decode TTLM with default link map

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: correctly decode TTLM with default link map TID-To-Link Mapping (TTLM) elements do not contain any link mapping presence indicator if a default mapping is used and parsing needs to be skipped. Note that access points should not explicitly report an advertised TTLM with a default mapping as that is the implied mapping if the element is not included, this is even the case when switching back to the default mapping. However, mac80211 would incorrectly parse the frame and would also read one byte beyond the end of the element.

iommu/sva: invalidate stale IOTLB entries for kernel address space

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/sva: invalidate stale IOTLB entries for kernel address space Introduce a new IOMMU interface to flush IOTLB paging cache entries for the CPU kernel address space. This interface is invoked from the x86 architecture code that manages combined user and kernel page tables, specifically before any kernel page table page is freed and reused. This addresses the main issue with vfree() which is a common occurrence and can be triggered by unprivileged users. While this resolves the primary problem, it doesn't address some extremely rare case related to memory unplug of mem

    ipv6: fix a BUG in rt6_get_pcpu_route() under PREEMPT_RT

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: fix a BUG in rt6_get_pcpu_route() under PREEMPT_RT On PREEMPT_RT kernels, after rt6_get_pcpu_route() returns NULL, the current task can be preempted. Another task running on the same CPU may then execute rt6_make_pcpu_route() and successfully install a pcpu_rt entry. When the first task resumes execution, its cmpxchg() in rt6_make_pcpu_route() will fail because rt6i_pcpu is no longer NULL, triggering the BUG_ON(prev). It's easy to reproduce it by adding mdelay() after rt6_get_pcpu_route(). Using preempt_disable/enable is not appropriate here because ip6_rt_pcpu_alloc

    functionfs: fix the open/removal races

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: functionfs: fix the open/removal races ffs_epfile_open() can race with removal, ending up with file->private_data pointing to freed object. There is a total count of opened files on functionfs (both ep0 and dynamic ones) and when it hits zero, dynamic files get removed. Unfortunately, that removal can happen while another thread is in ffs_epfile_open(), but has not incremented the count yet. In that case open will succeed, leaving us with UAF on any subsequent read() or write(). The root cause is that ffs->opened is misused; atomic_dec_and_test() vs. atomic_add_return() i

Input: lkkbd - disable pending work before freeing device

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: lkkbd - disable pending work before freeing device lkkbd_interrupt() schedules lk->tq via schedule_work(), and the work handler lkkbd_reinit() dereferences the lkkbd structure and its serio/input_dev fields. lkkbd_disconnect() and error paths in lkkbd_connect() free the lkkbd structure without preventing the reinit work from being queued again until serio_close() returns. This can allow the work handler to run after the structure has been freed, leading to a potential use-after-free. Use disable_work_sync() instead of cancel_work_sync() to ensure the reinit work ca

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: alps - fix use-after-free bugs caused by dev3_register_work The dev3_register_work delayed work item is initialized within alps_reconnect() and scheduled upon receipt of the first bare PS/2 packet from an external PS/2 device connected to the ALPS touchpad. During device detachment, the original implementation calls flush_workqueue() in psmouse_disconnect() to ensure completion of dev3_register_work. However, the flush_workqueue() in psmouse_disconnect() only blocks and waits for work items that were already queued to the workqueue prior to its invocation. Any work i

usb: phy: fsl-usb: Fix use-after-free in delayed work during device removal

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: phy: fsl-usb: Fix use-after-free in delayed work during device removal The delayed work item otg_event is initialized in fsl_otg_conf() and scheduled under two conditions: 1. When a host controller binds to the OTG controller. 2. When the USB ID pin state changes (cable insertion/removal). A race condition occurs when the device is removed via fsl_otg_remove(): the fsl_otg instance may be freed while the delayed work is still pending or executing. This leads to use-after-free when the work function fsl_otg_event() accesses the already freed memory. The problematic sc
