mcp-from-openapi: Bypass of OpenAPI external $ref SSRF fix in latest FrontMCP and mcp-from-openapi

FrontMCP is a TypeScript-first framework for the Model Context Protocol (MCP). From mcp-from-openapi 2.3.0 until 2.5.0 and from frontmcp and @frontmcp/adapters 1.2.1 until 1.5.0, libs/adapters/src/openapi/openapi.adapter.ts loadOpenAPISpec() forwards untrusted OpenAPI url and spec inputs and loadOptions.refResolution to OpenAPIToolGenerator.fromURL() and OpenAPIToolGenerator.fromJSON(). The external $ref guard checks parsed hostname strings without resolving addresses, pinning validated addresses, revalidating redirect targets, or normalizing IPv4-mapped IPv6. An authenticated user who can import or configure an OpenAPI specification in a hos

FrontMCP: Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) in the OpenAPI adapter spec-change poller

    ## Summary The OpenAPI adapter's spec-change **poller** (`OpenApiSpecPoller`) re-fetched the configured spec `url` on a timer using a raw global `fetch()`, bypassing the SSRF guard (`safeFetch` / `assertUrlSafe`) that `OpenAPIToolGenerator.fromURL()` applies to the initial spec load. As a result, the pinning/DNS-resolution hardening delivered via `mcp-from-openapi >= 2.5.0` (advisory GHSA-65h7-9wrw-629c) protected the initial load but **not** the recurring poll of the same URL. When polling is enabled against an untrusted or attacker-influenceable spec URL, this is an unguarded SSRF vector. ## Details The initial spec load is guarded. `Ope

FrontMCP Affected by SSRF via $ref Dereferencing in Untrusted OpenAPI Specifications

FrontMCP is a TypeScript-first framework for the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Prior to 2.3.0, the mcp-from-openapi library uses @apidevtools/json-schema-ref-parser to dereference $ref pointers in OpenAPI specifications without configuring any URL restrictions or custom resolvers. A malicious OpenAPI specification containing $ref values pointing to internal network addresses, cloud metadata endpoints, or local files will cause the library to fetch those resources during the initialize() call. This enables Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) and local file read attacks when processing untrusted OpenAPI specifications. This vulnerability is fixe
