watchdog: cpu5wdt.c: Fix use-after-free bug caused by cpu5wdt_trigger

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: watchdog: cpu5wdt.c: Fix use-after-free bug caused by cpu5wdt_trigger When the cpu5wdt module is removing, the origin code uses del_timer() to de-activate the timer. If the timer handler is running, del_timer() could not stop it and will return directly. If the port region is released by release_region() and then the timer handler cpu5wdt_trigger() calls outb() to write into the region that is released, the use-after-free bug will happen. Change del_timer() to timer_shutdown_sync() in order that the timer handler could be finished before the port region is released.

media: stk1160: fix bounds checking in stk1160_copy_video()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: stk1160: fix bounds checking in stk1160_copy_video() The subtract in this condition is reversed. The ->length is the length of the buffer. The ->bytesused is how many bytes we have copied thus far. When the condition is reversed that means the result of the subtraction is always negative but since it's unsigned then the result is a very high positive value. That means the overflow check is never true. Additionally, the ->bytesused doesn't actually work for this purpose because we're not writing to "buf->mem + buf->bytesused". Instead, the math to calculate the

isdn: cpai: check ctr->cnr to avoid array index out of bound

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: isdn: cpai: check ctr->cnr to avoid array index out of bound The cmtp_add_connection() would add a cmtp session to a controller and run a kernel thread to process cmtp. __module_get(THIS_MODULE); session->task = kthread_run(cmtp_session, session, "kcmtpd_ctr_%d", session->num); During this process, the kernel thread would call detach_capi_ctr() to detach a register controller. if the controller was not attached yet, detach_capi_ctr() would trigger an array-index-out-bounds bug. efi: runtime: avoid EFIv2 runtime services on Apple x86 machines

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: efi: runtime: avoid EFIv2 runtime services on Apple x86 machines Aditya reports [0] that his recent MacbookPro crashes in the firmware when using the variable services at runtime. The culprit appears to be a call to QueryVariableInfo(), which we did not use to call on Apple x86 machines in the past as they only upgraded from EFI v1.10 to EFI v2.40 firmware fairly recently, and QueryVariableInfo() (along with UpdateCapsule() et al) was added in EFI v2.00. The only runtime service introduced in EFI v2.00 that we actually use in Linux is QueryVariableInfo(), as the capsule ba

USB: core: Fix hang in usb_kill_urb by adding memory barriers

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: core: Fix hang in usb_kill_urb by adding memory barriers The syzbot fuzzer has identified a bug in which processes hang waiting for usb_kill_urb() to return. It turns out the issue is not unlinking the URB; that works just fine. Rather, the problem arises when the wakeup notification that the URB has completed is not received. The reason is memory-access ordering on SMP systems. In outline form, usb_kill_urb() and __usb_hcd_giveback_urb() operating concurrently on different CPUs perform the following actions: CPU 0 CPU 1 ---------------------------- ---------

scsi: bnx2fc: Flush destroy_work queue before calling bnx2fc_interface_put()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: bnx2fc: Flush destroy_work queue before calling bnx2fc_interface_put() The bnx2fc_destroy() functions are removing the interface before calling destroy_work. This results multiple WARNings from sysfs_remove_group() as the controller rport device attributes are removed too early. Replace the fcoe_port's destroy_work queue. It's not needed. The problem is easily reproducible with the following steps. Example: $ dmesg -w & $ systemctl enable --now fcoe $ fipvlan -s -c ens2f1 $ fcoeadm -d ens2f1.802 [ 583.464488] host2: libfc: Link down on port (7500a1) [

net: fix information leakage in /proc/net/ptype

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: fix information leakage in /proc/net/ptype In one net namespace, after creating a packet socket without binding it to a device, users in other net namespaces can observe the new `packet_type` added by this packet socket by reading `/proc/net/ptype` file. This is minor information leakage as packet socket is namespace aware. Add a net pointer in `packet_type` to keep the net namespace of of corresponding packet socket. In `ptype_seq_show`, this net pointer must be checked when it is not NULL.

btrfs: fix use-after-free after failure to create a snapshot

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: fix use-after-free after failure to create a snapshot At ioctl.c:create_snapshot(), we allocate a pending snapshot structure and then attach it to the transaction's list of pending snapshots. After that we call btrfs_commit_transaction(), and if that returns an error we jump to 'fail' label, where we kfree() the pending snapshot structure. This can result in a later use-after-free of the pending snapshot: 1) We allocated the pending snapshot and added it to the transaction's list of pending snapshots; 2) We call btrfs_commit_transaction(), and it fails either at
