  1. CVE-2024-38476

    Critical · CVSS 9.8EPSS 41.61%Fix available

Apache HTTP Server may use exploitable/malicious backend application output to run local handlers via internal redirect

Vulnerability in core of Apache HTTP Server 2.4.59 and earlier are vulnerably to information disclosure, SSRF or local script execution via backend applications whose response headers are malicious or exploitable. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.4.60, which fixes this issue.

  2. CVE-2024-38475

Critical · CVSS 9.1EPSS 99.96%In KEVPublic exploitFix available

Apache HTTP Server weakness in mod_rewrite when first segment of substitution matches filesystem path.

Improper escaping of output in mod_rewrite in Apache HTTP Server 2.4.59 and earlier allows an attacker to map URLs to filesystem locations that are permitted to be served by the server but are not intentionally/directly reachable by any URL, resulting in code execution or source code disclosure. Substitutions in server context that use a backreferences or variables as the first segment of the substitution are affected.  Some unsafe RewiteRules will be broken by this change and the rewrite flag "UnsafePrefixStat" can be used to opt back in once ensuring the substitution is appropriately constrained.

  3. CVE-2024-38474

    High · CVSS 8.1EPSS 2.46%Fix available

Apache HTTP Server weakness with encoded question marks in backreferences

Substitution encoding issue in mod_rewrite in Apache HTTP Server 2.4.59 and earlier allows attacker to execute scripts in directories permitted by the configuration but not directly reachable by any URL or source disclosure of scripts meant to only to be executed as CGI. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.4.60, which fixes this issue. Some RewriteRules that capture and substitute unsafely will now fail unless rewrite flag "UnsafeAllow3F" is specified.

  4. CVE-2024-38473

    High · CVSS 8.1EPSS 25.88%Public exploitFix available

Apache HTTP Server proxy encoding problem

Encoding problem in mod_proxy in Apache HTTP Server 2.4.59 and earlier allows request URLs with incorrect encoding to be sent to backend services, potentially bypassing authentication via crafted requests. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.4.60, which fixes this issue.

  5. CVE-2024-27316

    High · CVSS 7.5EPSS 91.33%Fix available

Apache HTTP Server: HTTP/2 DoS by memory exhaustion on endless continuation frames

HTTP/2 incoming headers exceeding the limit are temporarily buffered in nghttp2 in order to generate an informative HTTP 413 response. If a client does not stop sending headers, this leads to memory exhaustion.

  6. CVE-2024-24795

    Medium · CVSS 6.3EPSS 2.87%Fix available

Apache HTTP Server: HTTP Response Splitting in multiple modules

HTTP Response splitting in multiple modules in Apache HTTP Server allows an attacker that can inject malicious response headers into backend applications to cause an HTTP desynchronization attack. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.4.59, which fixes this issue.

  7. CVE-2023-43622

    High · CVSS 7.5EPSS 68.82%Fix available

Apache HTTP Server: DoS in HTTP/2 with initial windows size 0

An attacker, opening a HTTP/2 connection with an initial window size of 0, was able to block handling of that connection indefinitely in Apache HTTP Server. This could be used to exhaust worker resources in the server, similar to the well known "slow loris" attack pattern. This has been fixed in version 2.4.58, so that such connection are terminated properly after the configured connection timeout. This issue affects Apache HTTP Server: from 2.4.55 through 2.4.57. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.4.58, which fixes the issue.

  8. CVE-2023-45802

    Medium · CVSS 5.9EPSS 3.17%Fix available

Apache HTTP Server: HTTP/2 stream memory not reclaimed right away on RST

When a HTTP/2 stream was reset (RST frame) by a client, there was a time window were the request's memory resources were not reclaimed immediately. Instead, de-allocation was deferred to connection close. A client could send new requests and resets, keeping the connection busy and open and causing the memory footprint to keep on growing. On connection close, all resources were reclaimed, but the process might run out of memory before that. This was found by the reporter during testing of CVE-2023-44487 (HTTP/2 Rapid Reset Exploit) with their own test client. During "normal" HTTP/2 use, the probability to hit this bug is very low. The kept me

    High · CVSS 7.5EPSS 2.13%Fix available

Apache HTTP Server: mod_proxy_uwsgi HTTP response splitting

HTTP Response Smuggling vulnerability in Apache HTTP Server via mod_proxy_uwsgi. This issue affects Apache HTTP Server: from 2.4.30 through 2.4.55. Special characters in the origin response header can truncate/split the response forwarded to the client.

  10. CVE-2023-25690

    Critical · CVSS 9.8EPSS 84.51%Public exploitFix available

Apache HTTP Server: HTTP request splitting with mod_rewrite and mod_proxy

Some mod_proxy configurations on Apache HTTP Server versions 2.4.0 through 2.4.55 allow a HTTP Request Smuggling attack. Configurations are affected when mod_proxy is enabled along with some form of RewriteRule or ProxyPassMatch in which a non-specific pattern matches some portion of the user-supplied request-target (URL) data and is then re-inserted into the proxied request-target using variable substitution. For example, something like: RewriteEngine on RewriteRule "^/here/(.*)" "http://example.com:8080/elsewhere?$1"; [P] ProxyPassReverse /here/ http://example.com:8080/ Request splitting/smuggling could result in bypass of acc

  11. CVE-2022-37436

    Medium · CVSS 5.3EPSS 55.91%Fix available

Apache HTTP Server: mod_proxy prior to 2.4.55 allows a backend to trigger HTTP response splitting

Prior to Apache HTTP Server 2.4.55, a malicious backend can cause the response headers to be truncated early, resulting in some headers being incorporated into the response body. If the later headers have any security purpose, they will not be interpreted by the client.

Apache HTTP Server: mod_proxy_ajp Possible request smuggling

Inconsistent Interpretation of HTTP Requests ('HTTP Request Smuggling') vulnerability in mod_proxy_ajp of Apache HTTP Server allows an attacker to smuggle requests to the AJP server it forwards requests to. This issue affects Apache HTTP Server Apache HTTP Server 2.4 version 2.4.54 and prior versions.

    High · CVSS 7.5EPSS 3.55%Fix available

Apache HTTP Server: mod_dav out of bounds read, or write of zero byte

A carefully crafted If: request header can cause a memory read, or write of a single zero byte, in a pool (heap) memory location beyond the header value sent. This could cause the process to crash. This issue affects Apache HTTP Server 2.4.54 and earlier.

    mod_proxy X-Forwarded-For dropped by hop-by-hop mechanism

Apache HTTP Server 2.4.53 and earlier may not send the X-Forwarded-* headers to the origin server based on client side Connection header hop-by-hop mechanism. This may be used to bypass IP based authentication on the origin server/application.
