  1. CVE-2026-114110

    High · CVSS 8.7EPSS 0.27%Fix available

Astral uv before 0.11.6 Arbitrary File Deletion via Wheel RECORD Entries

Astral uv before 0.11.6 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows attackers to delete arbitrary files by supplying wheels with relative traversal paths in RECORD entries. Attackers can craft a malicious wheel whose RECORD references files outside the installation prefix, causing uv to delete those files when the user uninstalls the package.

uv before 0.11.15 Arbitrary File Write via Entry Point Names

uv before 0.11.15 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows malicious wheels to write files outside the scripts directory via crafted console_scripts or gui_scripts entry point names. Attackers who induce users to install a malicious wheel can place executables in PATH directories, shadowing or overwriting existing binaries for code execution.

uv's bundled CA store trusts an emSign root whose intermediate CA keys are compromised

By default, uv verifies TLS connections against a vendored copy of the `webpki-root-certs` bundle. Versions before 0.13.4 include the `emSign ECC Root CA - G3` root. Eight eMudhra intermediate CA certificates that chain to that root have compromised private keys, and the CA has revoked them. An attacker with one of the compromised keys can issue certificates that uv accepts for any hostname, and can be used to issue certificates to enable MITM attacks. uv 0.13.4 removes the root from its vendored bundle, following `webpki-root-certs` 1.0.10. Upgrade to 0.13.4 or later.

uv: Path traversal on Windows through wheel extraction

uv is a Python package and project manager written in Rust. From 0.12.7 until 0.12.18, uv wheel extraction on Windows can process a malicious wheel in a way that writes a file outside the installation prefix, including an executable in a directory already present on the user's PATH. Non-Windows hosts are not affected. This issue is fixed in version 0.12.18.

Uv: uv: specially crafted zip archives lead to arbitrary code execution due to parsing differentials

A flaw was found in uv. This vulnerability allows an attacker to execute malicious code during package resolution or installation via specially crafted ZIP (Zipped Information Package) archives that exploit parsing differentials, requiring user interaction to install an attacker-controlled package.

uv has differential in tar extraction with PAX headers

    ### Impact In versions 0.9.4 and earlier of uv, tar archives containing PAX headers with file size overrides were not handled properly. As a result, an attacker could contrive a source distribution (as a tar archive) that would extract differently when installed via uv versus other Python package installers. The underlying parsing differential here originates with astral-tokio-tar, which disclosed this vulnerability as CVE-2025-62518. In practice, the impact of this vulnerability is **low**: only source distributions can be formatted as tar archives, and source distributions execute arbitrary code at build/installation time by definition.

uv is vulnerable to ZIP payload obfuscation through parsing differentials

uv is a Python package and project manager written in Rust. In versions 0.8.5 and earlier, remote ZIP archives were handled in a streamwise fashion, and file entries were not reconciled against the archive's central directory. An attacker could contrive a ZIP archive that would extract with legitimate contents on some package installers, and malicious contents on others due to multiple local file entries. An attacker could also contrive a "stacked" ZIP input with multiple internal ZIPs, which would be handled differently by different package installers. The attacker could choose which installer to target in both scenarios. This issue is fixe
