motionEye: Arbitrary File Read via Path Traversal in Picture/Movie Preview Endpoint

motionEye (mEye) is an online interface for motion software, which is a video surveillance program with motion detection. Versions prior to 0.44.0 are vulnerable to path traversal in the picture and movie API endpoints, suhc as /picture/{id}/preview/{filename}. Neither the API handlers, nor the mediafiles.py functions such as get_media_preview() check for .. sequences in the filename parameter, except for get_media_content(). This allows an authenticated user with normal (non-admin) privileges to read arbitrary files from the filesystem as the motionEye process user, such as: /etc/passwd, /etc/shadow, motionEye config files containing passwo

    py7zr: Arbitrary File Write Vulnerability

py7zr is a Python-based library and utility to support 7zip archive compression, decompression, encryption and decryption. Versions 1.1.2 and below contain an an arbitrary file write vulnerability, which allows symbolic links to be recreated outside the destination directory via crafted malicious symbolic link chains. When using extractall to extract an archive, the library restores these symbolic links, linking them to arbitrary directories on the host file system. During extraction, the program only checks the link arcname within the destination directory, but ignores the combined symlink path resolution. Attackers can exploit this vulnerab

Docling: Unsafe Zip Extraction in EasyOCR Model Download

Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem. Prior to 2.91.0, the EasyOCR model download functionality extracted ZIP archives without validating member paths, enabling Zip Slip attacks. If an attacker could compromise the model download source (via supply chain attack, DNS spoofing, or MITM), they could write arbitrary files to any location writable by the process, potentially achieving remote code execution by overwriting Python files or system binaries, persistent backdoors by modifying startup scripts or SSH keys, and data corruption or system compromise. Docling: Potential Path Traversal via LaTeX \includegraphics and \input Commands

Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem. From 2.73.0 until 2.91.0, he LaTeX backend's handling of \includegraphics, \input, and \include commands lacked path containment validation. Attackers could craft malicious LaTeX documents with path traversal sequences to read arbitrary files from the file system accessible to the process, include sensitive files in the converted document output, or potentially access configuration files, credentials, or other sensitive data This vulnerability is fixed in 2.91.0.

Docling: Unsafe XML Entity Expansion in USPTO Patent Backend

Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem. From 2.13.0 until 2.74.0, the USPTO patent XML parser used the standard xml.sax.parseString() without protection against XML External Entity (XXE) attacks. An attacker could craft malicious USPTO patent XML files with external entity references that could read arbitrary files from the server filesystem, perform Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) attacks, or cause denial of service through entity expansion (Billion Laughs attack). The vulnerability affects three USPTO patent format parsers: ICE (v4.x), Grant v2.5, and

    Docling: Unsafe Playwright-based HTML Rendering

Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem. FIn versions >= 2.82.0, < 2.91.0, if the HTML backend was explicitly configured for rendering (rendering option by default deactivated), then the Playwright-based rendering feature could allow JavaScript execution and unrestricted network access when processing untrusted HTML documents. An attacker could craft malicious HTML that executes arbitrary JavaScript in the rendering context or makes unauthorized network requests to internal services, potentially leading to SSRF attacks, data exfiltration, or remote code exec

Mistune: Potential DoS via quadratic-time parsing in parse_link_text

Mistune is a Python Markdown parser with renderers and plugins. Prior to 3.3.0, Mistune is vulnerable to a CPU exhaustion DoS due to superlinear (approximately O(n²)) behavior in parse_link_text. When parsing Markdown containing many consecutive [ characters, parse_link_text repeatedly scans the input using a regex search inside a loop. Each iteration re-scans a large portion of the remaining string, resulting in quadratic-time behavior. An attacker-controlled Markdown input can therefore trigger excessive CPU usage with a very small payload. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.3.0.

motionEye's Absolute Path Traversal in Media File Handlers Allows Arbitrary File Read

motionEye (mEye) is an online interface for a piece of software called "motion," which is a video surveillance program with motion detection. Versions prior to 0.44.0 contain an absolute path traversal vulnerability in multiple media file handlers that allows an attacker to read arbitrary files from the filesystem. The affected handlers accept a user-controlled filename parameter and construct filesystem paths using `os.path.join()`. When an absolute path is supplied, Python discards the configured media directory and returns the attacker-supplied path directly. The application then bypasses Tornado's built-in path validation by overriding th

    Malicious code in ensmallen (PyPI)

Part of the "Hades" wave of the Shai-Hulud supply-chain campaign. On 2026-06-08, malicious phantom releases of ensmallen were published to PyPI using stolen credentials. The package executes a bundled JavaScript payload (via the Bun runtime) on import that harvests and exfiltrates credentials and attempts self-propagation. This entry is a summary; behavior may not be fully characterized here. See the linked references for detailed analysis and indicators of compromise.

Flask-Security has an Open Redirect issue

    # Open Redirect in Flask-Security ## Summary `flask_security.utils.validate_redirect_url()` can allow an attacker-controlled redirect URL when subdomain redirects are enabled. The bypass uses a backslash inside the URL authority/host: ```text http://evil.com\.whitelist.com http://evil.com%5C.whitelist.com ``` Python's `urlsplit()` parses the full authority as `evil.com\.whitelist.com` or `evil.com%5C.whitelist.com`. Because the value ends with `.whitelist.com`, `validate_redirect_url()` accepts it as an allowed subdomain of `whitelist.com`. This is similar in class to the previous Flask-Security-Too open redirect advisory CVE-2023-49438

Foreman-mcp-server: mcp server: insecure sensitive http header sanitization

A flaw was found in foreman-mcp-server. This component utilizes two distinct logging mechanisms that can expose sensitive session and authentication data. One mechanism logs session identifiers, which are treated as authentication credentials, at an informational level. The other, when debug logging is enabled, incompletely sanitizes HTTP request headers, leading to the cleartext logging of sensitive information such as authorization tokens and API keys. This vulnerability can result in a confidentiality breach, as sensitive authentication data is persisted in plain text within container logs, increasing the risk if logs are forwarded to a ce

motionEye Partial Authentication Bypass: Unauthenticated Admin Credential Theft via Path Traversal

    # Partial Authentication Bypass: Unauthenticated Admin Credential Theft via Path Traversal ### Summary Myself and others have reported several RCE vulnerabilities to this project. However, due to the nature of the app, these are largely not of all that much value, as there is built-in functionality to run commands upon certain actions — i.e. RCE is by design. With that in mind, I endeavored to find some sort of auth bypass, and was slightly successful. When the admin password is set but the normal (surveillance) user password is left empty (the default), an unauthenticated attacker can exploit a path traversal vulnerability to read the mo

motionEye: LFI → pass‑the‑hash admin → unsafe restore → unauth action exec (RCE)

    ## Summary A multi‑stage chain in motionEye leads to remote code execution. The chain combines: 1. **Arbitrary file read (LFI)** via the picture download endpoint for **local motion cameras** using absolute paths. 2. **Pass‑the‑hash admin auth** due to accepting request signatures computed with password hashes. 3. **Unsafe config restore** that extracts attacker‑controlled tarballs into `CONF_PATH`. 4. **Unauthenticated action execution** via `/action/<id>/<action>`. If the **normal user password is unset**, the chain becomes **unauthenticated RCE**. If a normal password exists, a **normal user** can still achieve **admin escalation and RCE

Crawl4AI: AST Sandbox Escape via gi_frame.f_back Chain - Pre-Auth RCE in Docker API

Crawl4AI is an open-source LLM friendly web crawler & scraper. Prior to 0.8.7, the _safe_eval_expression() function in the computed fields feature uses an AST validator that only blocks attributes starting with underscore. Python generator and frame object attributes (gi_frame, f_back, f_builtins) do NOT start with underscore, enabling a complete sandbox escape to achieve arbitrary code execution. The attack requires no authentication (JWT disabled by default) and is triggered via POST /crawl with a crafted extraction schema. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.8.7.

    Crawl4AI: SSRF filter bypass in Docker server via IPv6 transition forms (NAT64 / 6to4 / unspecified / v4-mapped)

Crawl4AI is an open-source LLM friendly web crawler & scraper. Prior to 0.8.8, the Docker API server's SSRF protection (validate_webhook_url / validate_url_destination in deploy/docker/utils.py) used an explicit IPv4/IPv6 CIDR blocklist that missed several address families. An attacker could reach internal services and cloud metadata endpoints (e.g. 169.254.169.254) despite the filter by encoding an internal IPv4 address inside an IPv6 transition form, or by using the IPv6 unspecified address. Because the Docker API is unauthenticated by default (jwt_enabled: false), no credentials are required. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.8.8.

Crawl4AI: SSRF via proxy settings in the Docker server bypasses the crawl-URL SSRF check

Crawl4AI is an open-source LLM friendly web crawler & scraper. Prior to 0.8.9, the Docker API server applied its SSRF destination check to the crawl target URL only, not to the proxy address. An unauthenticated request could supply a proxy pointing at an internal IP and route the browser through it, reaching internal services and cloud-metadata endpoints, while using a perfectly valid crawl URL. The Docker API is unauthenticated by default. /crawl, /crawl/stream, and /crawl/job accept a browser_config (and crawler_config). The following all feed Chromium's egress and were unchecked: browser_config.proxy_config.server, browser_config.proxy (de
