pinctrl: nomadik: Add missing of_node_put() in nmk_pinctrl_probe

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pinctrl: nomadik: Add missing of_node_put() in nmk_pinctrl_probe This node pointer is returned by of_parse_phandle() with refcount incremented in this function. Calling of_node_put() to avoid the refcount leak.

PM: core: keep irq flags in device_pm_check_callbacks()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: PM: core: keep irq flags in device_pm_check_callbacks() The function device_pm_check_callbacks() can be called under the spin lock (in the reported case it happens from genpd_add_device() -> dev_pm_domain_set(), when the genpd uses spinlocks rather than mutexes. However this function uncoditionally uses spin_lock_irq() / spin_unlock_irq(), thus not preserving the CPU flags. Use the irqsave/irqrestore instead. The backtrace for the reference: [ 2.752010] ------------[ cut here ]------------ [ 2.756769] raw_local_irq_restore() called with IRQs enabled [ 2.762596] W

ext4: don't BUG if someone dirty pages without asking ext4 first

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: don't BUG if someone dirty pages without asking ext4 first [un]pin_user_pages_remote is dirtying pages without properly warning the file system in advance. A related race was noted by Jan Kara in 2018[1]; however, more recently instead of it being a very hard-to-hit race, it could be reliably triggered by process_vm_writev(2) which was discovered by Syzbot[2]. This is technically a bug in mm/gup.c, but arguably ext4 is fragile in that if some other kernel subsystem dirty pages without properly notifying the file system using page_mkwrite(), ext4 will BUG, while othe

drbd: Fix five use after free bugs in get_initial_state

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drbd: Fix five use after free bugs in get_initial_state In get_initial_state, it calls notify_initial_state_done(skb,..) if cb->args[5]==1. If genlmsg_put() failed in notify_initial_state_done(), the skb will be freed by nlmsg_free(skb). Then get_initial_state will goto out and the freed skb will be used by return value skb->len, which is a uaf bug. What's worse, the same problem goes even further: skb can also be freed in the notify_*_state_change -> notify_*_state calls below. Thus 4 additional uaf bugs happened. My patch lets the problem callee functions: notify_initia

    mm/mempolicy: fix mpol_new leak in shared_policy_replace

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/mempolicy: fix mpol_new leak in shared_policy_replace If mpol_new is allocated but not used in restart loop, mpol_new will be freed via mpol_put before returning to the caller. But refcnt is not initialized yet, so mpol_put could not do the right things and might leak the unused mpol_new. This would happen if mempolicy was updated on the shared shmem file while the sp->lock has been dropped during the memory allocation. This issue could be triggered easily with the below code snippet if there are many processes doing the below work at the same time: shmid = shmget(

    mmmremap.c: avoid pointless invalidate_range_start/end on mremap(old_size=0)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mmmremap.c: avoid pointless invalidate_range_start/end on mremap(old_size=0) If an mremap() syscall with old_size=0 ends up in move_page_tables(), it will call invalidate_range_start()/invalidate_range_end() unnecessarily, i.e. with an empty range. This causes a WARN in KVM's mmu_notifier. In the past, empty ranges have been diagnosed to be off-by-one bugs, hence the WARNing. Given the low (so far) number of unique reports, the benefits of detecting more buggy callers seem to outweigh the cost of having to fix cases such as this one, where userspace is doing something s

btrfs: fix qgroup reserve overflow the qgroup limit

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: fix qgroup reserve overflow the qgroup limit We use extent_changeset->bytes_changed in qgroup_reserve_data() to record how many bytes we set for EXTENT_QGROUP_RESERVED state. Currently the bytes_changed is set as "unsigned int", and it will overflow if we try to fallocate a range larger than 4GiB. The result is we reserve less bytes and eventually break the qgroup limit. Unlike regular buffered/direct write, which we use one changeset for each ordered extent, which can never be larger than 256M. For fallocate, we use one changeset for the whole range, thus it no lo

veth: Ensure eth header is in skb's linear part

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: veth: Ensure eth header is in skb's linear part After feeding a decapsulated packet to a veth device with act_mirred, skb_headlen() may be 0. But veth_xmit() calls __dev_forward_skb(), which expects at least ETH_HLEN byte of linear data (as __dev_forward_skb2() calls eth_type_trans(), which pulls ETH_HLEN bytes unconditionally). In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfc: nci: add flush_workqueue to prevent uaf Our detector found a concurrent use-after-free bug when detaching an NCI device. The main reason for this bug is the unexpected scheduling between the used delayed mechanism (timer and workqueue).
