    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: class: cdc-wdm: Fix CPU lockup caused by excessive log messages The syzbot fuzzer found that the interrupt-URB completion callback in the cdc-wdm driver was taking too long, and the driver's immediate resubmission of interrupt URBs with -EPROTO status combined with the dummy-hcd emulation to cause a CPU lockup: cdc_wdm 1-1:1.0: nonzero urb status received: -71 cdc_wdm 1-1:1.0: wdm_int_callback - 0 bytes watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 26s! jfs: xattr: fix buffer overflow for invalid xattr

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: jfs: xattr: fix buffer overflow for invalid xattr When an xattr size is not what is expected, it is printed out to the kernel log in hex format as a form of debugging. But when that xattr size is bigger than the expected size, printing it out can cause an access off the end of the buffer. Fix this all up by properly restricting the size of the debug hex dump in the kernel log.

    scsi: mpt3sas: Avoid test/set_bit() operating in non-allocated memory

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: mpt3sas: Avoid test/set_bit() operating in non-allocated memory There is a potential out-of-bounds access when using test_bit() on a single word. The test_bit() and set_bit() functions operate on long values, and when testing or setting a single word, they can exceed the word boundary. KASAN detects this issue and produces a dump: BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in _scsih_add_device.constprop.0 (./arch/x86/include/asm/bitops.h:60 ./include/asm-generic/bitops/instrumented-atomic.h:29 drivers/scsi/mpt3sas/mpt3sas_scsih.c:7331) mpt3sas Write of size 8 at addr ffff88

    HID: core: remove unnecessary WARN_ON() in implement()

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: core: remove unnecessary WARN_ON() in implement() Syzkaller hit a warning [1] in a call to implement() when trying to write a value into a field of smaller size in an output report. Since implement() already has a warn message printed out with the help of hid_warn() and value in question gets trimmed with: ... value &= m; ... WARN_ON may be considered superfluous. Remove it to suppress future syzkaller triggers. To fix the problem, when link status change, need to check whether the roce registered, and when uninit, need to wait link update finish.

    netfilter: ipset: Fix race between namespace cleanup and gc in the list:set type

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: ipset: Fix race between namespace cleanup and gc in the list:set type Lion Ackermann reported that there is a race condition between namespace cleanup in ipset and the garbage collection of the list:set type. The namespace cleanup can destroy the list:set type of sets while the gc of the set type is waiting to run in rcu cleanup. The latter uses data from the destroyed set which thus leads use after free. The patch contains the following parts: - When destroying all sets, first remove the garbage collectors, then wait if needed and then destroy the sets. - Fix

    ionic: fix use after netif_napi_del()

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ionic: fix use after netif_napi_del() When queues are started, netif_napi_add() and napi_enable() are called. If there are 4 queues and only 3 queues are used for the current configuration, only 3 queues' napi should be registered and enabled. The ionic_qcq_enable() checks whether the .poll pointer is not NULL for enabling only the using queue' napi. Unused queues' napi will not be registered by netif_napi_add(), so the .poll pointer indicates NULL. But it couldn't distinguish whether the napi was unregistered or not because netif_napi_del() doesn't reset the .poll pointer

    sock_map: avoid race between sock_map_close and sk_psock_put

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sock_map: avoid race between sock_map_close and sk_psock_put sk_psock_get will return NULL if the refcount of psock has gone to 0, which will happen when the last call of sk_psock_put is done. However, sk_psock_drop may not have finished yet, so the close callback will still point to sock_map_close despite psock being NULL. This can be reproduced with a thread deleting an element from the sock map, while the second one creates a socket, adds it to the map and closes it. That will trigger the WARN_ON_ONCE: ------------[ cut here ]------------ WARNING: CPU: 1 PID: 7220 at

    vmci: prevent speculation leaks by sanitizing event in event_deliver()

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vmci: prevent speculation leaks by sanitizing event in event_deliver() Coverity spotted that event_msg is controlled by user-space, event_msg->event_data.event is passed to event_deliver() and used as an index without sanitization. This change ensures that the event index is sanitized to mitigate any possibility of speculative information leaks. This bug was discovered and resolved using Coverity Static Analysis Security Testing (SAST) by Synopsys, Inc. Only compile tested, no access to HW.

    btrfs: zoned: fix use-after-free due to race with dev replace

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: zoned: fix use-after-free due to race with dev replace While loading a zone's info during creation of a block group, we can race with a device replace operation and then trigger a use-after-free on the device that was just replaced (source device of the replace operation). This happens because at btrfs_load_zone_info() we extract a device from the chunk map into a local variable and then use the device while not under the protection of the device replace rwsem. So if there's a device replace operation happening when we extract the device and that device is the sourc

Here is the relevant code. if (!queue_work(system_long_wq, &intf->mode_switch_work)) { ... } If we call gb_interface_release to make cleanup, there may be an unfinished work. Furthermore it's still possible that the caller has not yet called wait_for_completion, resulting in another potential UAF. ipv6: sr: fix missing sk_buff release in seg6_input_core

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: sr: fix missing sk_buff release in seg6_input_core The seg6_input() function is responsible for adding the SRH into a packet, delegating the operation to the seg6_input_core(). This function uses the skb_cow_head() to ensure that there is sufficient headroom in the sk_buff for accommodating the link-layer header. In the event that the skb_cow_header() function fails, the seg6_input_core() catches the error but it does not release the sk_buff, which will result in a memory leak. This issue was introduced in commit af3b5158b89d ("ipv6: sr: fix BUG due to headroom too s

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: arm64: asm-bug: Add .align 2 to the end of __BUG_ENTRY When CONFIG_DEBUG_BUGVERBOSE=n, we fail to add necessary padding bytes to bug_table entries, and as a result the last entry in a bug table will be ignored, potentially leading to an unexpected panic(). All prior entries in the table will be handled correctly. The arm64 ABI requires that struct fields of up to 8 bytes are naturally-aligned, with padding added within a struct such that struct are suitably aligned within arrays. When CONFIG_DEBUG_BUGVERPOSE=y, the layout of a bug_entry is: struct bug_entry { signed i
