usb: typec: tcpci: fix of node refcount leak in tcpci_register_port()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: typec: tcpci: fix of node refcount leak in tcpci_register_port() I got the following report while doing device(mt6370-tcpc) load test with CONFIG_OF_UNITTEST and CONFIG_OF_DYNAMIC enabled: OF: ERROR: memory leak, expected refcount 1 instead of 2, of_node_get()/of_node_put() unbalanced - destroy cset entry: attach overlay node /i2c/pmic@34/tcpc/connector The 'fwnode' set in tcpci_parse_config() which is called in tcpci_register_port(), its node refcount is increased in device_get_named_child_node(). It needs be put while exiting, so call fwnode_handle_put() in t

rapidio: fix possible UAF when kfifo_alloc() fails

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rapidio: fix possible UAF when kfifo_alloc() fails If kfifo_alloc() fails in mport_cdev_open(), goto err_fifo and just free priv. But priv is still in the chdev->file_list, then list traversal may cause UAF. This fixes the following smatch warning: drivers/rapidio/devices/rio_mport_cdev.c:1930 mport_cdev_open() warn: '&priv->list' not removed from list

cxl: fix possible null-ptr-deref in cxl_pci_init_afu|adapter()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cxl: fix possible null-ptr-deref in cxl_pci_init_afu|adapter() If device_register() fails in cxl_pci_afu|adapter(), the device is not added, device_unregister() can not be called in the error path, otherwise it will cause a null-ptr-deref because of removing not added device. As comment of device_register() says, it should use put_device() to give up the reference in the error path. So split device_unregister() into device_del() and put_device(), then goes to put dev when register fails.

tls: separate no-async decryption request handling from async

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tls: separate no-async decryption request handling from async If we're not doing async, the handling is much simpler. There's no reference counting, we just need to wait for the completion to wake us up and return its result. We should preferably also use a separate crypto_wait. I'm not seeing a UAF as I did in the past, I think aec7961916f3 ("tls: fix race between async notify and socket close") took care of it. This will make the next fix easier.

tls: stop recv() if initial process_rx_list gave us non-DATA

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tls: stop recv() if initial process_rx_list gave us non-DATA If we have a non-DATA record on the rx_list and another record of the same type still on the queue, we will end up merging them: - process_rx_list copies the non-DATA record - we start the loop and process the first available record since it's of the same type - we break out of the loop since the record was not DATA Just check the record type and jump to the end in case process_rx_list did some work.

ksmbd: fix out of bounds read in smb2_sess_setup

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix out of bounds read in smb2_sess_setup ksmbd does not consider the case of that smb2 session setup is in compound request. If this is the second payload of the compound, OOB read issue occurs while processing the first payload in the smb2_sess_setup().

ksmbd: fix wrong next length validation of ea buffer in smb2_set_ea()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix wrong next length validation of ea buffer in smb2_set_ea() There are multiple smb2_ea_info buffers in FILE_FULL_EA_INFORMATION request from client. ksmbd find next smb2_ea_info using ->NextEntryOffset of current smb2_ea_info. ksmbd need to validate buffer length Before accessing the next ea. ksmbd should check buffer length using buf_len, not next variable. next is the start offset of current ea that got from previous ea.

ksmbd: validate session id and tree id in the compound request

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: validate session id and tree id in the compound request This patch validate session id and tree id in compound request. If first operation in the compound is SMB2 ECHO request, ksmbd bypass session and tree validation. So work->sess and work->tcon could be NULL. If secound request in the compound access work->sess or tcon, It cause NULL pointer dereferecing error.

ksmbd: fix out-of-bound read in smb2_write

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix out-of-bound read in smb2_write ksmbd_smb2_check_message doesn't validate hdr->NextCommand. If ->NextCommand is bigger than Offset + Length of smb2 write, It will allow oversized smb2 write length. It will cause OOB read in smb2_write.

Fix it by add check for request size of other commands.

    ksmbd: call rcu_barrier() in ksmbd_server_exit()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: call rcu_barrier() in ksmbd_server_exit() racy issue is triggered the bug by racing between closing a connection and rmmod. In ksmbd, rcu_barrier() is not called at module unload time, so nothing prevents ksmbd from getting unloaded while it still has RCU callbacks pending. It leads to trigger unintended execution of kernel code locally and use to defeat protections such as Kernel Lockdown

Kernel: memory leak via ksmbd session setup request with unknown ntlmssp message type

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's ksmbd component. A memory leak can occur if a client sends a session setup request with an unknown NTLMSSP message type, potentially leading to resource exhaustion.

Kernel: ksmbd brute force delay bypass via asynchronous requests

A vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel's ksmbd component (kernel SMB/CIFS server). A security control designed to prevent dictionary attacks, which introduces a 5-second delay during session setup, can be bypassed through the use of asynchronous requests. This bypass negates the intended anti-brute-force protection, potentially allowing attackers to conduct dictionary attacks more efficiently against user credentials or other authentication mechanisms.

Kernel: ksmbd memory exhaustion denial-of-service vulnerability

A flaw exists within the Linux kernel's handling of new TCP connections. The issue results from the lack of memory release after its effective lifetime. This vulnerability allows an unauthenticated attacker to create a denial of service condition on the system.

ext4: block range must be validated before use in ext4_mb_clear_bb()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: block range must be validated before use in ext4_mb_clear_bb() Block range to free is validated in ext4_free_blocks() using ext4_inode_block_valid() and then it's passed to ext4_mb_clear_bb(). However in some situations on bigalloc file system the range might be adjusted after the validation in ext4_free_blocks() which can lead to troubles on corrupted file systems such as one found by syzkaller that resulted in the following BUG kernel BUG at fs/ext4/ext4.h:3319! netfilter: nft_tproxy: restrict to prerouting hook

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nft_tproxy: restrict to prerouting hook TPROXY is only allowed from prerouting, but nft_tproxy doesn't check this. This fixes a crash (null dereference) when using tproxy from e.g. output.
