tty: n_gsm: fix race condition in status line change on dead connections

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tty: n_gsm: fix race condition in status line change on dead connections gsm_cleanup_mux() cleans up the gsm by closing all DLCIs, stopping all timers, removing the virtual tty devices and clearing the data queues. This procedure, however, may cause subsequent changes of the virtual modem status lines of a DLCI. More data is being added the outgoing data queue and the deleted kick timer is restarted to handle this. At this point many resources have already been removed by the cleanup procedure. Thus, a kernel panic occurs. Fix this by proving in gsm_modem_update() that the

soc: qcom: llcc: Handle a second device without data corruption

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: soc: qcom: llcc: Handle a second device without data corruption Usually there is only one llcc device. But if there were a second, even a failed probe call would modify the global drv_data pointer. So check if drv_data is valid before overwriting it.

platform/x86: wmi: Fix opening of char device

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/x86: wmi: Fix opening of char device Since commit fa1f68db6ca7 ("drivers: misc: pass miscdevice pointer via file private data"), the miscdevice stores a pointer to itself inside filp->private_data, which means that private_data will not be NULL when wmi_char_open() is called. This might cause memory corruption should wmi_char_open() be unable to find its driver, something which can happen when the associated WMI device is deleted in wmi_free_devices(). Fix the problem by using the miscdevice pointer to retrieve the WMI device data associated with a char device usi

hwmon: (axi-fan-control) Fix possible NULL pointer dereference

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hwmon: (axi-fan-control) Fix possible NULL pointer dereference axi_fan_control_irq_handler(), dependent on the private axi_fan_control_data structure, might be called before the hwmon device is registered. That will cause an "Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference" error.

perf: hisi: Fix use-after-free when register pmu fails

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf: hisi: Fix use-after-free when register pmu fails When we fail to register the uncore pmu, the pmu context may not been allocated. The error handing will call cpuhp_state_remove_instance() to call uncore pmu offline callback, which migrate the pmu context. Since that's liable to lead to some kind of use-after-free. Use cpuhp_state_remove_instance_nocalls() instead of cpuhp_state_remove_instance() so that the notifiers don't execute after the PMU device has been failed to register.

drm/bridge: lt8912b: Fix crash on bridge detach

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/bridge: lt8912b: Fix crash on bridge detach The lt8912b driver, in its bridge detach function, calls drm_connector_unregister() and drm_connector_cleanup(). drm_connector_unregister() should be called only for connectors explicitly registered with drm_connector_register(), which is not the case in lt8912b. The driver's drm_connector_funcs.destroy hook is set to drm_connector_cleanup(). Thus the driver should not call either drm_connector_unregister() nor drm_connector_cleanup() in its lt8912_bridge_detach(), as they cause a crash on bridge detach: Unable to handle k

padata: Fix refcnt handling in padata_free_shell()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: padata: Fix refcnt handling in padata_free_shell() In a high-load arm64 environment, the pcrypt_aead01 test in LTP can lead to system UAF (Use-After-Free) issues. Due to the lengthy analysis of the pcrypt_aead01 function call, I'll describe the problem scenario using a simplified model: Suppose there's a user of padata named `user_function` that adheres to the padata requirement of calling `padata_free_shell` after `serial()` has been invoked, as demonstrated in the following code: ```c struct request { struct padata_priv padata; struct completion *done; }; void

hid: cp2112: Fix duplicate workqueue initialization

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hid: cp2112: Fix duplicate workqueue initialization Previously the cp2112 driver called INIT_DELAYED_WORK within cp2112_gpio_irq_startup, resulting in duplicate initilizations of the workqueue on subsequent IRQ startups following an initial request. This resulted in a warning in set_work_data in workqueue.c, as well as a rare NULL dereference within process_one_work in workqueue.c. Initialize the workqueue within _probe instead.

media: bttv: fix use after free error due to btv->timeout timer

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: bttv: fix use after free error due to btv->timeout timer There may be some a race condition between timer function bttv_irq_timeout and bttv_remove. The timer is setup in probe and there is no timer_delete operation in remove function. When it hit kfree btv, the function might still be invoked, which will cause use after free bug. This bug is found by static analysis, it may be false positive. Fix it by adding del_timer_sync invoking to the remove function. cpu0 cpu1 bttv_probe ->timer_setup

hsr: Prevent use after free in prp_create_tagged_frame()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hsr: Prevent use after free in prp_create_tagged_frame() The prp_fill_rct() function can fail. In that situation, it frees the skb and returns NULL. Meanwhile on the success path, it returns the original skb. So it's straight forward to fix bug by using the returned value.
