    idpf: fix memory leaks and crashes while performing a soft reset

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: idpf: fix memory leaks and crashes while performing a soft reset The second tagged commit introduced a UAF, as it removed restoring q_vector->vport pointers after reinitializating the structures. This is due to that all queue allocation functions are performed here with the new temporary vport structure and those functions rewrite the backpointers to the vport. Then, this new struct is freed and the pointers start leading to nowhere. But generally speaking, the current logic is very fragile. It claims to be more reliable when the system is low on memory, but in fact, it co

    serial: sc16is7xx: fix TX fifo corruption

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: serial: sc16is7xx: fix TX fifo corruption Sometimes, when a packet is received on channel A at almost the same time as a packet is about to be transmitted on channel B, we observe with a logic analyzer that the received packet on channel A is transmitted on channel B. In other words, the Tx buffer data on channel B is corrupted with data from channel A. The problem appeared since commit 4409df5866b7 ("serial: sc16is7xx: change EFR lock to operate on each channels"), which changed the EFR locking to operate on each channel instead of chip-wise. This commit has introduced a

    idpf: fix UAFs when destroying the queues

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: idpf: fix UAFs when destroying the queues The second tagged commit started sometimes (very rarely, but possible) throwing WARNs from net/core/page_pool.c:page_pool_disable_direct_recycling(). Turned out idpf frees interrupt vectors with embedded NAPIs *before* freeing the queues making page_pools' NAPI pointers lead to freed memory before these pools are destroyed by libeth. It's not clear whether there are other accesses to the freed vectors when destroying the queues, but anyway, we usually free queue/interrupt vectors only when the queues are destroyed and the NAPIs are

    bpf: Fix crash due to out of bounds access into reg2btf_ids.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix crash due to out of bounds access into reg2btf_ids. When commit e6ac2450d6de ("bpf: Support bpf program calling kernel function") added kfunc support, it defined reg2btf_ids as a cheap way to translate the verifier reg type to the appropriate btf_vmlinux BTF ID, however commit c25b2ae13603 ("bpf: Replace PTR_TO_XXX_OR_NULL with PTR_TO_XXX | PTR_MAYBE_NULL") moved the __BPF_REG_TYPE_MAX from the last member of bpf_reg_type enum to after the base register types, and defined other variants using type flag composition. However, now, the direct usage of reg->type to ind

    RDMA/hns: Fix soft lockup under heavy CEQE load

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/hns: Fix soft lockup under heavy CEQE load CEQEs are handled in interrupt handler currently. This may cause the CPU core staying in interrupt context too long and lead to soft lockup under heavy load. Handle CEQEs in BH workqueue and set an upper limit for the number of CEQE handled by a single call of work handler.

    ice: Fix improper extts handling

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ice: Fix improper extts handling Extts events are disabled and enabled by the application ts2phc. However, in case where the driver is removed when the application is running, a specific extts event remains enabled and can cause a kernel crash. As a side effect, when the driver is reloaded and application is started again, remaining extts event for the channel from a previous run will keep firing and the message "extts on unexpected channel" might be printed to the user. To avoid that, extts events shall be disabled when PTP is released.

    ice: Don't process extts if PTP is disabled

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ice: Don't process extts if PTP is disabled The ice_ptp_extts_event() function can race with ice_ptp_release() and result in a NULL pointer dereference which leads to a kernel panic. Panic occurs because the ice_ptp_extts_event() function calls ptp_clock_event() with a NULL pointer. The ice driver has already released the PTP clock by the time the interrupt for the next external timestamp event occurs. To fix this, modify the ice_ptp_extts_event() function to check the PTP state and bail early if PTP is not ready.

    block: release rq qos structures for queue without disk

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block: release rq qos structures for queue without disk blkcg_init_queue() may add rq qos structures to request queue, previously blk_cleanup_queue() calls rq_qos_exit() to release them, but commit 8e141f9eb803 ("block: drain file system I/O on del_gendisk") moves rq_qos_exit() into del_gendisk(), so memory leak is caused because queues may not have disk, such as un-present scsi luns, nvme admin queue, ... Fixes the issue by adding rq_qos_exit() to blk_cleanup_queue() back. BTW, v5.18 won't need this patch any more since we move blkcg_init_queue()/blkcg_exit_queue() into

    drm/amdgpu: change vm->task_info handling

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: change vm->task_info handling This patch changes the handling and lifecycle of vm->task_info object. The major changes are: - vm->task_info is a dynamically allocated ptr now, and its uasge is reference counted. - introducing two new helper funcs for task_info lifecycle management - amdgpu_vm_get_task_info: reference counts up task_info before returning this info - amdgpu_vm_put_task_info: reference counts down task_info - last put to task_info() frees task_info from the vm. This patch also does logistical changes required for existing usage of

Change directory to the tracefs directory 2. Create a kprobe event (doesn't matter what one) 3. Open bash file descriptor 5 on the enable file of the kprobe event 4. Delete the kprobe event (removes the files too) 5. Close the bash file descriptor 5 The above causes a crash! BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address

    bcachefs: Check for journal entries overruning end of sb clean section

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bcachefs: Check for journal entries overruning end of sb clean section Fix a missing bounds check in superblock validation. Note that we don't yet have repair code for this case - repair code for individual items is generally low priority, since the whole superblock is checksummed, validated prior to write, and we have backups.

    bpf, sockmap: Prevent lock inversion deadlock in map delete elem

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf, sockmap: Prevent lock inversion deadlock in map delete elem syzkaller started using corpuses where a BPF tracing program deletes elements from a sockmap/sockhash map. Because BPF tracing programs can be invoked from any interrupt context, locks taken during a map_delete_elem operation must be hardirq-safe. Otherwise a deadlock due to lock inversion is possible, as reported by lockdep: CPU0 CPU1 ---- ---- lock(&htab->buckets[i].lock); local_irq_disable();
