    drm/gem: Acquire references on GEM handles for framebuffers

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/gem: Acquire references on GEM handles for framebuffers A GEM handle can be released while the GEM buffer object is attached to a DRM framebuffer. This leads to the release of the dma-buf backing the buffer object, if any. [1] Trying to use the framebuffer in further mode-setting operations leads to a segmentation fault. Most easily happens with driver that use shadow planes for vmap-ing the dma-buf during a page flip. An example is shown below. usb: gadget: u_serial: Fix race condition in TTY wakeup

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: gadget: u_serial: Fix race condition in TTY wakeup A race condition occurs when gs_start_io() calls either gs_start_rx() or gs_start_tx(), as those functions briefly drop the port_lock for usb_ep_queue(). This allows gs_close() and gserial_disconnect() to clear port.tty and port_usb, respectively. Use the null-safe TTY Port helper function to wake up TTY. Example CPU1: CPU2: gserial_connect() // lock gs_close() // await lock gs_start_rx() // unlock usb_ep_queue() gs_close() // lock, reset port.tty and unlock gs_start_rx()

    drm/scheduler: signal scheduled fence when kill job

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/scheduler: signal scheduled fence when kill job When an entity from application B is killed, drm_sched_entity_kill() removes all jobs belonging to that entity through drm_sched_entity_kill_jobs_work(). If application A's job depends on a scheduled fence from application B's job, and that fence is not properly signaled during the killing process, application A's dependency cannot be cleared. This leads to application A hanging indefinitely while waiting for a dependency that will never be resolved. Fix this issue by ensuring that scheduled fences are properly signaled w

    Input: ims-pcu - check record size in ims_pcu_flash_firmware()

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: ims-pcu - check record size in ims_pcu_flash_firmware() The "len" variable comes from the firmware and we generally do trust firmware, but it's always better to double check. If the "len" is too large it could result in memory corruption when we do "memcpy(fragment->data, rec->data, len);"

    perf: Fix sample vs do_exit()

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf: Fix sample vs do_exit() Baisheng Gao reported an ARM64 crash, which Mark decoded as being a synchronous external abort -- most likely due to trying to access MMIO in bad ways. The crash further shows perf trying to do a user stack sample while in exit_mmap()'s tlb_finish_mmu() -- i.e. while tearing down the address space it is trying to access. It turns out that we stop perf after we tear down the userspace mm; a receipie for disaster, since perf likes to access userspace for various reasons. Flip this order by moving up where we stop perf in do_exit(). Additional

    wifi: carl9170: do not ping device which has failed to load firmware

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: carl9170: do not ping device which has failed to load firmware Syzkaller reports [1, 2] crashes caused by an attempts to ping the device which has failed to load firmware. Since such a device doesn't pass 'ieee80211_register_hw()', an internal workqueue managed by 'ieee80211_queue_work()' is not yet created and an attempt to queue work on it causes null-ptr-deref. NFC: nci: uart: Set tty->disc_data only in success path

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFC: nci: uart: Set tty->disc_data only in success path Setting tty->disc_data before opening the NCI device means we need to clean it up on error paths. This also opens some short window if device starts sending data, even before NCIUARTSETDRIVER IOCTL succeeded (broken hardware?). Close the window by exposing tty->disc_data only on the success path, when opening of the NCI device and try_module_get() succeeds. The code differs in error path in one aspect: tty->disc_data won't be ever assigned thus NULL-ified. This however should not be relevant difference, because of

    Squashfs: check return result of sb_min_blocksize

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Squashfs: check return result of sb_min_blocksize Syzkaller reports an "UBSAN: shift-out-of-bounds in squashfs_bio_read" bug. Syzkaller forks multiple processes which after mounting the Squashfs filesystem, issues an ioctl("/dev/loop0", LOOP_SET_BLOCK_SIZE, 0x8000). Now if this ioctl occurs at the same time another process is in the process of mounting a Squashfs filesystem on /dev/loop0, the failure occurs. When this happens the following code in squashfs_fill_super() fails. ---- msblk->devblksize = sb_min_blocksize(sb, SQUASHFS_DEVBLK_SIZE); msblk->devblksize_log2 = f

    drm/msm: Fix a fence leak in submit error path

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm: Fix a fence leak in submit error path In error paths, we could unref the submit without calling drm_sched_entity_push_job(), so msm_job_free() will never get called. Since drm_sched_job_cleanup() will NULL out the s_fence, we can use that to detect this case. Patchwork: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/653584/

Additionally, this is one of the top syzbot reports now. Just print a message, and as an added bonus, print the sizes too.

    mtk-sd: Prevent memory corruption from DMA map failure

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mtk-sd: Prevent memory corruption from DMA map failure If msdc_prepare_data() fails to map the DMA region, the request is not prepared for data receiving, but msdc_start_data() proceeds the DMA with previous setting. Since this will lead a memory corruption, we have to stop the request operation soon after the msdc_prepare_data() fails to prepare it.

    ACPICA: Refuse to evaluate a method if arguments are missing

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ACPICA: Refuse to evaluate a method if arguments are missing As reported in [1], a platform firmware update that increased the number of method parameters and forgot to update a least one of its callers, caused ACPICA to crash due to use-after-free. Since this a result of a clear AML issue that arguably cannot be fixed up by the interpreter (it cannot produce missing data out of thin air), address it by making ACPICA refuse to evaluate a method if the caller attempts to pass fewer arguments than expected to it.

    rose: fix dangling neighbour pointers in rose_rt_device_down()

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rose: fix dangling neighbour pointers in rose_rt_device_down() There are two bugs in rose_rt_device_down() that can cause use-after-free: 1. The loop bound `t->count` is modified within the loop, which can cause the loop to terminate early and miss some entries. 2. When removing an entry from the neighbour array, the subsequent entries are moved up to fill the gap, but the loop index `i` is still incremented, causing the next entry to be skipped. For example, if a node has three neighbours (A, A, B) with count=3 and A is being removed, the second A is not checke

    posix-cpu-timers: fix race between handle_posix_cpu_timers() and posix_cpu_timer_del()

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: posix-cpu-timers: fix race between handle_posix_cpu_timers() and posix_cpu_timer_del() If an exiting non-autoreaping task has already passed exit_notify() and calls handle_posix_cpu_timers() from IRQ, it can be reaped by its parent or debugger right after unlock_task_sighand(). If a concurrent posix_cpu_timer_del() runs at that moment, it won't be able to detect timer->it.cpu.firing != 0: cpu_timer_task_rcu() and/or lock_task_sighand() will fail. Add the tsk->exit_state check into run_posix_cpu_timers() to fix this. This fix is not needed if CONFIG_POSIX_CPU_TIMERS_TASK_
