net/sched: netem: account for backlog updates from child qdisc

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: netem: account for backlog updates from child qdisc In general, 'qlen' of any classful qdisc should keep track of the number of packets that the qdisc itself and all of its children holds. In case of netem, 'qlen' only accounts for the packets in its internal tfifo. When netem is used with a child qdisc, the child qdisc can use 'qdisc_tree_reduce_backlog' to inform its parent, netem, about created or dropped SKBs. This function updates 'qlen' and the backlog statistics of netem, but netem does not account for changes made by a child qdisc. 'qlen' then indicates t

    media: dvb-frontends: dib3000mb: fix uninit-value in dib3000_write_reg

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: dvb-frontends: dib3000mb: fix uninit-value in dib3000_write_reg Syzbot reports [1] an uninitialized value issue found by KMSAN in dib3000_read_reg(). Local u8 rb[2] is used in i2c_transfer() as a read buffer; in case that call fails, the buffer may end up with some undefined values. Since no elaborate error handling is expected in dib3000_write_reg(), simply zero out rb buffer to mitigate the problem. btrfs: fix use-after-free when COWing tree bock and tracing is enabled

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: fix use-after-free when COWing tree bock and tracing is enabled When a COWing a tree block, at btrfs_cow_block(), and we have the tracepoint trace_btrfs_cow_block() enabled and preemption is also enabled (CONFIG_PREEMPT=y), we can trigger a use-after-free in the COWed extent buffer while inside the tracepoint code. This is because in some paths that call btrfs_cow_block(), such as btrfs_search_slot(), we are holding the last reference on the extent buffer @buf so btrfs_force_cow_block() drops the last reference on the @buf extent buffer when it calls free_extent_buff

rtc: check if __rtc_read_time was successful in rtc_timer_do_work()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rtc: check if __rtc_read_time was successful in rtc_timer_do_work() If the __rtc_read_time call fails,, the struct rtc_time tm; may contain uninitialized data, or an illegal date/time read from the RTC hardware. When calling rtc_tm_to_ktime later, the result may be a very large value (possibly KTIME_MAX). If there are periodic timers in rtc->timerqueue, they will continually expire, may causing kernel softlockup.

media: wl128x: Fix atomicity violation in fmc_send_cmd()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: wl128x: Fix atomicity violation in fmc_send_cmd() Atomicity violation occurs when the fmc_send_cmd() function is executed simultaneously with the modification of the fmdev->resp_skb value. Consider a scenario where, after passing the validity check within the function, a non-null fmdev->resp_skb variable is assigned a null value. This results in an invalid fmdev->resp_skb variable passing the validity check. As seen in the later part of the function, skb = fmdev->resp_skb; when the invalid fmdev->resp_skb passes the check, a null pointer dereference error may occur a

net: defer final 'struct net' free in netns dismantle

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: defer final 'struct net' free in netns dismantle Ilya reported a slab-use-after-free in dst_destroy [1] Issue is in xfrm6_net_init() and xfrm4_net_init() : They copy xfrm[46]_dst_ops_template into net->xfrm.xfrm[46]_dst_ops. But net structure might be freed before all the dst callbacks are called. So when dst_destroy() calls later : if (dst->ops->destroy) dst->ops->destroy(dst); dst->ops points to the old net->xfrm.xfrm[46]_dst_ops, which has been freed. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/ipv6: release expired exception dst cached in socket Dst objects get leaked in ip6_negative_advice() when this function is executed for an expired IPv6 route located in the exception table. There are several conditions that must be fulfilled for the leak to occur: * an ICMPv6 packet indicating a change of the MTU for the path is received, resulting in an exception dst being created * a TCP connection that uses the exception dst for routing packets must start timing out so that TCP begins retransmissions * after the exception dst expires, the FIB6 garbage collector m

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nilfs2: fix potential out-of-bounds memory access in nilfs_find_entry() Syzbot reported that when searching for records in a directory where the inode's i_size is corrupted and has a large value, memory access outside the folio/page range may occur, or a use-after-free bug may be detected if KASAN is enabled. This is because nilfs_last_byte(), which is called by nilfs_find_entry() and others to calculate the number of valid bytes of directory data in a page from i_size and the page index, loses the upper 32 bits of the 64-bit size information due to an inappropriate type o

mm/mempolicy: fix migrate_to_node() assuming there is at least one VMA in a MM

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/mempolicy: fix migrate_to_node() assuming there is at least one VMA in a MM We currently assume that there is at least one VMA in a MM, which isn't true. So we might end up having find_vma() return NULL, to then de-reference NULL. So properly handle find_vma() returning NULL. Bluetooth: L2CAP: do not leave dangling sk pointer on error in l2cap_sock_create()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: L2CAP: do not leave dangling sk pointer on error in l2cap_sock_create() bt_sock_alloc() allocates the sk object and attaches it to the provided sock object. On error l2cap_sock_alloc() frees the sk object, but the dangling pointer is still attached to the sock object, which may create use-after-free in other code.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: RFCOMM: avoid leaving dangling sk pointer in rfcomm_sock_alloc() bt_sock_alloc() attaches allocated sk object to the provided sock object. If rfcomm_dlc_alloc() fails, we release the sk object, but leave the dangling pointer in the sock object, which may cause use-after-free. Fix this by swapping calls to bt_sock_alloc() and rfcomm_dlc_alloc().
