In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: strict bound check before memcmp in ocfs2_xattr_find_entry() xattr in ocfs2 maybe 'non-indexed', which saved with additional space requested. It's better to check if the memory is out of bound before memcmp, although this possibility mainly comes from crafted poisonous images.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: add bounds checking to ocfs2_check_dir_entry() This adds sanity checks for ocfs2_dir_entry to make sure all members of ocfs2_dir_entry don't stray beyond valid memory region.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: add bounds checking to xlog_recover_process_data There is a lack of verification of the space occupied by fixed members of xlog_op_header in the xlog_recover_process_data. We can create a crafted image to trigger an out of bounds read by following these steps: 1) Mount an image of xfs, and do some file operations to leave records 2) Before umounting, copy the image for subsequent steps to simulate abnormal exit. Because umount will ensure that tail_blk and head_blk are the same, which will result in the inability to enter xlog_recover_proc
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: don't walk off the end of a directory data block This adds sanity checks for xfs_dir2_data_unused and xfs_dir2_data_entry to make sure don't stray beyond valid memory region. Before patching, the loop simply checks that the start offset of the dup and dep is within the range. So in a crafted image, if last entry is xfs_dir2_data_unused, we can change dup->length to dup->length-1 and leave 1 byte of space. In the next traversal, this space will be considered as dup or dep. We may encounter an out of bound read when accessing the fixed members. In the patch, we make sur
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: filelock: Remove locks reliably when fcntl/close race is detected When fcntl_setlk() races with close(), it removes the created lock with do_lock_file_wait(). However, LSMs can allow the first do_lock_file_wait() that created the lock while denying the second do_lock_file_wait() that tries to remove the lock. Separately, posix_lock_file() could also fail to remove a lock due to GFP_KERNEL allocation failure (when splitting a range in the middle). After the bug has been triggered, use-after-free reads will occur in lock_get_status() when userspace reads /proc/locks. This ca
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mISDN: Fix memory leak in dsp_pipeline_build() dsp_pipeline_build() allocates dup pointer by kstrdup(cfg), but then it updates dup variable by strsep(&dup, "|"). As a result when it calls kfree(dup), the dup variable contains NULL. Found by Linux Driver Verification project (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ethernet: Fix error handling in xemaclite_of_probe This node pointer is returned by of_parse_phandle() with refcount incremented in this function. Calling of_node_put() to avoid the refcount leak. As the remove function do.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFC: port100: fix use-after-free in port100_send_complete Syzbot reported UAF in port100_send_complete(). The root case is in missing usb_kill_urb() calls on error handling path of ->probe function. port100_send_complete() accesses devm allocated memory which will be freed on probe failure. We should kill this urbs before returning an error from probe function to prevent reported use-after-free Fail log: BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in port100_send_complete+0x16e/0x1a0 drivers/nfc/port100.c:935 Read of size 1 at addr ffff88801bb59540 by task ksoftirqd/2/26 ... In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: swiotlb: fix info leak with DMA_FROM_DEVICE The problem I'm addressing was discovered by the LTP test covering cve-2018-1000204. A short description of what happens follows: 1) The test case issues a command code 00 (TEST UNIT READY) via the SG_IO interface with: dxfer_len == 524288, dxdfer_dir == SG_DXFER_FROM_DEV and a corresponding dxferp. The peculiar thing about this is that TUR is not reading from the device. 2) In sg_start_req() the invocation of blk_rq_map_user() effectively bounces the user-space buffer. As if the device was to transfer into it. Sin
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: gdm724x: fix use after free in gdm_lte_rx() The netif_rx_ni() function frees the skb so we can't dereference it to save the skb->len.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/packet: fix slab-out-of-bounds access in packet_recvmsg() syzbot found that when an AF_PACKET socket is using PACKET_COPY_THRESH and mmap operations, tpacket_rcv() is queueing skbs with garbage in skb->cb[], triggering a too big copy [1] Presumably, users of af_packet using mmap() already gets correct metadata from the mapped buffer, we can simply make sure to clear 12 bytes that might be copied to user space later. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: aiptek - properly check endpoint type Syzbot reported warning in usb_submit_urb() which is caused by wrong endpoint type. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSD: Fix NFSv3 SETATTR/CREATE's handling of large file sizes iattr::ia_size is a loff_t, so these NFSv3 procedures must be careful to deal with incoming client size values that are larger than s64_max without corrupting the value. Silently capping the value results in storing a different value than the client passed in which is unexpected behavior, so remove the min_t() check in decode_sattr3(). Note that RFC 1813 permits only the WRITE procedure to return NFS3ERR_FBIG. We believe that NFSv3 reference implementations also return NFS3ERR_FBIG when ia_size is too large.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSD: Fix ia_size underflow iattr::ia_size is a loff_t, which is a signed 64-bit type. NFSv3 and NFSv4 both define file size as an unsigned 64-bit type. Thus there is a range of valid file size values an NFS client can send that is already larger than Linux can handle. Currently decode_fattr4() dumps a full u64 value into ia_size. If that value happens to be larger than S64_MAX, then ia_size underflows. I'm about to fix up the NFSv3 behavior as well, so let's catch the underflow in the common code path: nfsd_setattr().
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSD: Fix the behavior of READ near OFFSET_MAX Dan Aloni reports: > Due to commit 8cfb9015280d ("NFS: Always provide aligned buffers to > the RPC read layers") on the client, a read of 0xfff is aligned up > to server rsize of 0x1000. > > As a result, in a test where the server has a file of size > 0x7fffffffffffffff, and the client tries to read from the offset > 0x7ffffffffffff000, the read causes loff_t overflow in the server > and it returns an NFS code of EINVAL to the client. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: dsa: mv88e6xxx: don't use devres for mdiobus As explained in commits: 74b6d7d13307 ("net: dsa: realtek: register the MDIO bus under devres") 5135e96a3dd2 ("net: dsa: don't allocate the slave_mii_bus using devres") mdiobus_free() will panic when called from devm_mdiobus_free() <- devres_release_all() <- __device_release_driver(), and that mdiobus was not previously unregistered. The mv88e6xxx is an MDIO device, so the initial set of constraints that I thought would cause this (I2C or SPI buses which call ->remove on ->shutdown) do not apply. But there is one more whic
