wifi: ath9k: hif_usb: fix memory leak of urbs in ath9k_hif_usb_dealloc_tx_urbs()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath9k: hif_usb: fix memory leak of urbs in ath9k_hif_usb_dealloc_tx_urbs() Syzkaller reports a long-known leak of urbs in ath9k_hif_usb_dealloc_tx_urbs(). The cause of the leak is that usb_get_urb() is called but usb_free_urb() (or usb_put_urb()) is not called inside usb_kill_urb() as urb->dev or urb->ep fields have not been initialized and usb_kill_urb() returns immediately. The patch removes trying to kill urbs located in hif_dev->tx.tx_buf because hif_dev->tx.tx_buf is not supposed to contain urbs which are in pending state (the pending urbs are stored in hif_dev

btrfs: fix race when deleting free space root from the dirty cow roots list

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: fix race when deleting free space root from the dirty cow roots list When deleting the free space tree we are deleting the free space root from the list fs_info->dirty_cowonly_roots without taking the lock that protects it, which is struct btrfs_fs_info::trans_lock. This unsynchronized list manipulation may cause chaos if there's another concurrent manipulation of this list, such as when adding a root to it with ctree.c:add_root_to_dirty_list(). This can result in all sorts of weird failures caused by a race, such as the following crash: [337571.278245] general p

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/amd: Add a length limitation for the ivrs_acpihid command-line parameter The 'acpiid' buffer in the parse_ivrs_acpihid function may overflow, because the string specifier in the format string sscanf() has no width limitation. Found by InfoTeCS on behalf of Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ubifs: Fix memleak when insert_old_idx() failed Following process will cause a memleak for copied up znode: dirty_cow_znode zn = copy_znode(c, znode); err = insert_old_idx(c, zbr->lnum, zbr->offs); if (unlikely(err)) return ERR_PTR(err); // No one refers to zn. Fetch a reproducer in [Link]. Function copy_znode() is split into 2 parts: resource allocation and znode replacement, insert_old_idx() is split in similar way, so resource cleanup could be done in error handling path without corrupting metadata(mem & disk). RDMA/bnxt_re: Prevent handling any completions after qp destroy

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/bnxt_re: Prevent handling any completions after qp destroy HW may generate completions that indicates QP is destroyed. Driver should not be scheduling any more completion handlers for this QP, after the QP is destroyed. Since CQs are active during the QP destroy, driver may still schedule completion handlers. This can cause a race where the destroy_cq and poll_cq running simultaneously. Snippet of kernel panic while doing bnxt_re driver load unload in loop. This indicates a poll after the CQ is freed.  [77786.481636] Call Trace: [77786.481640]  <TASK> [77786.481644]

drm/rockchip: dw_hdmi: cleanup drm encoder during unbind

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/rockchip: dw_hdmi: cleanup drm encoder during unbind This fixes a use-after-free crash during rmmod. The DRM encoder is embedded inside the larger rockchip_hdmi, which is allocated with the component. The component memory gets freed before the main drm device is destroyed. Fix it by running encoder cleanup before tearing down its container. [moved encoder cleanup above clk_disable, similar to bind-error-path]

usb: idmouse: fix an uninit-value in idmouse_open

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: idmouse: fix an uninit-value in idmouse_open In idmouse_create_image, if any ftip_command fails, it will go to the reset label. However, this leads to the data in bulk_in_buffer[HEADER..IMGSIZE] uninitialized. And the check for valid image incurs an uninitialized dereference. Fix this by moving the check before reset label since this check only be valid if the data after bulk_in_buffer[HEADER] has concrete data. Note that this is found by KMSAN, so only kernel compilation is tested.

s390/lcs: Fix return type of lcs_start_xmit()

If they are not identical, there is a failure at run time, which manifests as either a kernel panic or thread getting killed. A proposed warning in clang aims to catch these at compile time, which reveals: drivers/s390/net/lcs.c:2090:21: error: incompatible function pointer types initializing 'netdev_tx_t (*)

    x86/apic: Don't disable x2APIC if locked

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/apic: Don't disable x2APIC if locked The APIC supports two modes, legacy APIC (or xAPIC), and Extended APIC (or x2APIC). X2APIC mode is mostly compatible with legacy APIC, but it disables the memory-mapped APIC interface in favor of one that uses MSRs. The APIC mode is controlled by the EXT bit in the APIC MSR. The MMIO/xAPIC interface has some problems, most notably the APIC LEAK [1]. This bug allows an attacker to use the APIC MMIO interface to extract data from the SGX enclave. Introduce support for a new feature that will allow the BIOS to lock the APIC in x2AP

ima: Handle error code returned by ima_filter_rule_match()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ima: Handle error code returned by ima_filter_rule_match() In ima_match_rules(), if ima_filter_rule_match() returns -ENOENT due to the rule being NULL, the function incorrectly skips the 'if (!rc)' check and sets 'result = true'. The LSM rule is considered a match, causing extra files to be measured by IMA. This issue can be reproduced in the following scenario: After unloading the SELinux policy module via 'semodule -d', if an IMA measurement is triggered before ima_lsm_rules is updated, in ima_match_rules(), the first call to ima_filter_rule_match() returns -ESTALE.
