fbdev: rivafb: fix divide error in nv3_arb()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fbdev: rivafb: fix divide error in nv3_arb() A userspace program can trigger the RIVA NV3 arbitration code by calling the FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO ioctl on /dev/fb*. When doing so, the driver recomputes FIFO arbitration parameters in nv3_arb(), using state->mclk_khz (derived from the PRAMDAC MCLK PLL) as a divisor without validating it first. In a normal setup, state->mclk_khz is provided by the real hardware and is non-zero. However, an attacker can construct a malicious or misconfigured device (e.g. a crafted/emulated PCI device) that exposes a bogus PLL configuration, causin

net: liquidio: Fix off-by-one error in PF setup_nic_devices() cleanup

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: liquidio: Fix off-by-one error in PF setup_nic_devices() cleanup In setup_nic_devices(), the initialization loop jumps to the label setup_nic_dev_free on failure. The current cleanup loop while(i--) skip the failing index i, causing a memory leak. Fix this by changing the loop to iterate from the current index i down to 0. Also, decrement i in the devlink_alloc failure path to point to the last successfully allocated index. Compile tested only. Issue found using code review.

net: add proper RCU protection to /proc/net/ptype

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: add proper RCU protection to /proc/net/ptype Yin Fengwei reported an RCU stall in ptype_seq_show() and provided a patch. Real issue is that ptype_seq_next() and ptype_seq_show() violate RCU rules. ptype_seq_show() runs under rcu_read_lock(), and reads pt->dev to get device name without any barrier. At the same time, concurrent writers can remove a packet_type structure (which is correctly freed after an RCU grace period) and clear pt->dev without an RCU grace period. Define ptype_iter_state to carry a dev pointer along seq_net_private: struct ptype_iter_state { s

btrfs: do not free data reservation in fallback from inline due to -ENOSPC

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: do not free data reservation in fallback from inline due to -ENOSPC If we fail to create an inline extent due to -ENOSPC, we will attempt to go through the normal COW path, reserve an extent, create an ordered extent, etc. However we were always freeing the reserved qgroup data, which is wrong since we will use data. Fix this by freeing the reserved qgroup data in __cow_file_range_inline() only if we are not doing the fallback (ret is <= 0).

btrfs: fix reservation leak in some error paths when inserting inline extent

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: fix reservation leak in some error paths when inserting inline extent If we fail to allocate a path or join a transaction, we return from __cow_file_range_inline() without freeing the reserved qgroup data, resulting in a leak. Fix this by ensuring we call btrfs_qgroup_free_data() in such cases.

media: dvb-core: fix wrong reinitialization of ringbuffer on reopen

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: dvb-core: fix wrong reinitialization of ringbuffer on reopen dvb_dvr_open() calls dvb_ringbuffer_init() when a new reader opens the DVR device. dvb_ringbuffer_init() calls init_waitqueue_head(), which reinitializes the waitqueue list head to empty. Since dmxdev->dvr_buffer.queue is a shared waitqueue (all opens of the same DVR device share it), this orphans any existing waitqueue entries from io_uring poll or epoll, leaving them with stale prev/next pointers while the list head is reset to {self, self}. The waitqueue and spinlock in dvr_buffer are already properly

    RDMA/umad: Reject negative data_len in ib_umad_write

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/umad: Reject negative data_len in ib_umad_write ib_umad_write computes data_len from user-controlled count and the MAD header sizes. With a mismatched user MAD header size and RMPP header length, data_len can become negative and reach ib_create_send_mad(). This can make the padding calculation exceed the segment size and trigger an out-of-bounds memset in alloc_send_rmpp_list(). Add an explicit check to reject negative data_len before creating the send buffer. KASAN splat: [ 211.363464] BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in ib_create_send_mad+0xa01/0x11b0 [ 211.364077]

fs: ntfs3: fix infinite loop triggered by zero-sized ATTR_LIST

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs: ntfs3: fix infinite loop triggered by zero-sized ATTR_LIST We found an infinite loop bug in the ntfs3 file system that can lead to a Denial-of-Service (DoS) condition. A malformed NTFS image can cause an infinite loop when an ATTR_LIST attribute indicates a zero data size while the driver allocates memory for it. When ntfs_load_attr_list() processes a resident ATTR_LIST with data_size set to zero, it still allocates memory because of al_aligned(0). This creates an inconsistent state where ni->attr_list.size is zero, but ni->attr_list.le is non-null. This causes ni_enu

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs: ntfs3: check return value of indx_find to avoid infinite loop We found an infinite loop bug in the ntfs3 file system that can lead to a Denial-of-Service (DoS) condition. A malformed dentry in the ntfs3 filesystem can cause the kernel to hang during the lookup operations. By setting the HAS_SUB_NODE flag in an INDEX_ENTRY within a directory's INDEX_ALLOCATION block and manipulating the VCN pointer, an attacker can cause the indx_find() function to repeatedly read the same block, allocating 4 KB of memory each time. The kernel lacks VCN loop detection and depth limits,

fs: ntfs3: fix infinite loop in attr_load_runs_range on inconsistent metadata

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs: ntfs3: fix infinite loop in attr_load_runs_range on inconsistent metadata We found an infinite loop bug in the ntfs3 file system that can lead to a Denial-of-Service (DoS) condition. A malformed NTFS image can cause an infinite loop when an attribute header indicates an empty run list, while directory entries reference it as containing actual data. In NTFS, setting evcn=-1 with svcn=0 is a valid way to represent an empty run list, and run_unpack() correctly handles this by checking if evcn + 1 equals svcn and returning early without parsing any run data. However, this

    Nfs-utils: rpc.mountd in the nfs-utils privilege escalation

A vulnerability was recently discovered in the rpc.mountd daemon in the nfs-utils package for Linux, that allows a NFSv3 client to escalate the privileges assigned to it in the /etc/exports file at mount time. In particular, it allows the client to access any subdirectory or subtree of an exported directory, regardless of the set file permissions, and regardless of any 'root_squash' or 'all_squash' attributes that would normally be expected to apply to that client.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: romfs: check sb_set_blocksize() return value romfs_fill_super() ignores the return value of sb_set_blocksize(), which can fail if the requested block size is incompatible with the block device's configuration. This can be triggered by setting a loop device's block size larger than PAGE_SIZE using ioctl(LOOP_SET_BLOCK_SIZE, 32768), then mounting a romfs filesystem on that device. When sb_set_blocksize(sb, ROMBSIZE) is called with ROMBSIZE=4096 but the device has logical_block_size=32768, bdev_validate_blocksize() fails because the requested size is smaller than the device'

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/x86: classmate-laptop: Add missing NULL pointer checks In a few places in the Classmate laptop driver, code using the accel object may run before that object's address is stored in the driver data of the input device using it. For example, cmpc_accel_sensitivity_store_v4() is the "show" method of cmpc_accel_sensitivity_attr_v4 which is added in cmpc_accel_add_v4(), before calling dev_set_drvdata() for inputdev->dev. If the sysfs attribute is accessed prematurely, the dev_get_drvdata(&inputdev->dev) call in in cmpc_accel_sensitivity_store_v4() returns NULL which l

fbdev: smscufx: properly copy ioctl memory to kernelspace

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fbdev: smscufx: properly copy ioctl memory to kernelspace The UFX_IOCTL_REPORT_DAMAGE ioctl does not properly copy data from userspace to kernelspace, and instead directly references the memory, which can cause problems if invalid data is passed from userspace. Fix this all up by correctly copying the memory before accessing it within the kernel.
