batman-adv: Avoid double-rtnl_lock ELP metric worker

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: batman-adv: Avoid double-rtnl_lock ELP metric worker batadv_v_elp_get_throughput() might be called when the RTNL lock is already held. This could be problematic when the work queue item is cancelled via cancel_delayed_work_sync() in batadv_v_elp_iface_disable(). In this case, an rtnl_lock() would cause a deadlock. To avoid this, rtnl_trylock() was used in this function to skip the retrieval of the ethtool information in case the RTNL lock was already held. But for cfg80211 interfaces, batadv_get_real_netdev() was called - which also uses rtnl_lock(). The approach for __et

net: ncsi: fix skb leak in error paths

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ncsi: fix skb leak in error paths Early return paths in NCSI RX and AEN handlers fail to release the received skb, resulting in a memory leak. Specifically, ncsi_aen_handler() returns on invalid AEN packets without consuming the skb. Similarly, ncsi_rcv_rsp() exits early when failing to resolve the NCSI device, response handler, or request, leaving the skb unfreed.

x86/apic: Disable x2apic on resume if the kernel expects so

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/apic: Disable x2apic on resume if the kernel expects so When resuming from s2ram, firmware may re-enable x2apic mode, which may have been disabled by the kernel during boot either because it doesn't support IRQ remapping or for other reasons. This causes the kernel to continue using the xapic interface, while the hardware is in x2apic mode, which causes hangs. This happens on defconfig + bare metal + s2ram. Fix this in lapic_resume() by disabling x2apic if the kernel expects it to be disabled, i.e. when x2apic_mode = 0. The ACPI v6.6 spec, Section 16.3 [1] says firmwa

smb: client: fix in-place encryption corruption in SMB2_write()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix in-place encryption corruption in SMB2_write() SMB2_write() places write payload in iov[1..n] as part of rq_iov. smb3_init_transform_rq() pointer-shares rq_iov, so crypt_message() encrypts iov[1] in-place, replacing the original plaintext with ciphertext. On a replayable error, the retry sends the same iov[1] which now contains ciphertext instead of the original data, resulting in corruption. The corruption is most likely to be observed when connections are unstable, as reconnects trigger write retries that re-send the already-encrypted data. This affects

btrfs: fix transaction abort when snapshotting received subvolumes

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: fix transaction abort when snapshotting received subvolumes Currently a user can trigger a transaction abort by snapshotting a previously received snapshot a bunch of times until we reach a BTRFS_UUID_KEY_RECEIVED_SUBVOL item overflow (the maximum item size we can store in a leaf). This is very likely not common in practice, but if it happens, it turns the filesystem into RO mode. The snapshot, send and set_received_subvol and subvol_setflags (used by receive) don't require CAP_SYS_ADMIN, just inode_owner_or_capable(). A malicious user could use this to turn a filesy

btrfs: fix transaction abort on set received ioctl due to item overflow

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: fix transaction abort on set received ioctl due to item overflow If the set received ioctl fails due to an item overflow when attempting to add the BTRFS_UUID_KEY_RECEIVED_SUBVOL we have to abort the transaction since we did some metadata updates before. This means that if a user calls this ioctl with the same received UUID field for a lot of subvolumes, we will hit the overflow, trigger the transaction abort and turn the filesystem into RO mode. A malicious user could exploit this, and this ioctl does not even requires that a user has admin privileges (CAP_SYS_ADMI

iio: gyro: mpu3050-core: fix pm_runtime error handling

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: gyro: mpu3050-core: fix pm_runtime error handling The return value of pm_runtime_get_sync() is not checked, allowing the driver to access hardware that may fail to resume. The device usage count is also unconditionally incremented. Use pm_runtime_resume_and_get() which propagates errors and avoids incrementing the usage count on failure. In preenable, add pm_runtime_put_autosuspend() on set_8khz_samplerate() failure since postdisable does not run when preenable fails.

smb: client: require a full NFS mode SID before reading mode bits

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: require a full NFS mode SID before reading mode bits parse_dacl() treats an ACE SID matching sid_unix_NFS_mode as an NFS mode SID and reads sid.sub_auth[2] to recover the mode bits. That assumes the ACE carries three subauthorities, but compare_sids() only compares min(a, b) subauthorities. A malicious server can return an ACE with num_subauth = 2 and sub_auth[] = {88, 3}, which still matches sid_unix_NFS_mode and then drives the sub_auth[2] read four bytes past the end of the ACE. Require num_subauth >= 3 before treating the ACE as an NFS mode SID. This kee

This prevents the configuration of attributes via configfs after unlinking the function. Decrement the reference count in geth_free() to ensure proper cleanup.

comedi: Reinit dev->spinlock between attachments to low-level drivers

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: comedi: Reinit dev->spinlock between attachments to low-level drivers `struct comedi_device` is the main controlling structure for a COMEDI device created by the COMEDI subsystem. It contains a member `spinlock` containing a spin-lock that is initialized by the COMEDI subsystem, but is reserved for use by a low-level driver attached to the COMEDI device (at least since commit 25436dc9d84f ("Staging: comedi: remove RT code")). btrfs: reserve enough transaction items for qgroup ioctls

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: reserve enough transaction items for qgroup ioctls Currently our qgroup ioctls don't reserve any space, they just do a transaction join, which does not reserve any space, neither for the quota tree updates nor for the delayed refs generated when updating the quota tree. The quota root uses the global block reserve, which is fine most of the time since we don't expect a lot of updates to the quota root, or to be too close to -ENOSPC such that other critical metadata updates need to resort to the global reserve. However this is not optimal, as not reserving proper spa

lib/crypto: chacha: Zeroize permuted_state before it leaves scope

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: lib/crypto: chacha: Zeroize permuted_state before it leaves scope Since the ChaCha permutation is invertible, the local variable 'permuted_state' is sufficient to compute the original 'state', and thus the key, even after the permutation has been done. While the kernel is quite inconsistent about zeroizing secrets on the stack (and some prominent userspace crypto libraries don't bother at all since it's not guaranteed to work anyway), the kernel does try to do it as a best practice, especially in cases involving the RNG. Thus, explicitly zeroize 'permuted_state' before it

Bluetooth: SMP: force responder MITM requirements before building the pairing response

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: SMP: force responder MITM requirements before building the pairing response smp_cmd_pairing_req() currently builds the pairing response from the initiator auth_req before enforcing the local BT_SECURITY_HIGH requirement. If the initiator omits SMP_AUTH_MITM, the response can also omit it even though the local side still requires MITM. tk_request() then sees an auth value without SMP_AUTH_MITM and may select JUST_CFM, making method selection inconsistent with the pairing policy the responder already enforces. When the local side requires HIGH security, first ver

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cpufreq: governor: fix double free in cpufreq_dbs_governor_init() error path When kobject_init_and_add() fails, cpufreq_dbs_governor_init() calls kobject_put(&dbs_data->attr_set.kobj). The kobject release callback cpufreq_dbs_data_release() calls gov->exit(dbs_data) and kfree(dbs_data), but the current error path then calls gov->exit(dbs_data) and kfree(dbs_data) again, causing a double free. Keep the direct kfree(dbs_data) for the gov->init() failure path, but after kobject_init_and_add() has been called, let kobject_put() handle the cleanup through cpufreq_dbs_data_rele
