wifi: cfg80211: Fix use after free for wext

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: cfg80211: Fix use after free for wext Key information in wext.connect is not reset on (re)connect and can hold data from a previous connection. Reset key data to avoid that drivers or mac80211 incorrectly detect a WEP connection request and access the freed or already reused memory. Additionally optimize cfg80211_sme_connect() and avoid an useless schedule of conn_work.

md/raid10: prevent soft lockup while flush writes

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: md/raid10: prevent soft lockup while flush writes Currently, there is no limit for raid1/raid10 plugged bio. While flushing writes, raid1 has cond_resched() while raid10 doesn't, and too many writes can cause soft lockup. Follow up soft lockup can be triggered easily with writeback test for raid10 with ramdisks: watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#10 stuck for 27s! ext4: avoid deadlock in fs reclaim with page writeback

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: avoid deadlock in fs reclaim with page writeback Ext4 has a filesystem wide lock protecting ext4_writepages() calls to avoid races with switching of journalled data flag or inode format. This lock can however cause a deadlock like: CPU0 CPU1 ext4_writepages() percpu_down_read(sbi->s_writepages_rwsem); ext4_change_inode_journal_flag() percpu_down_write(sbi->s_writepages_rwsem); - blocks, all readers block from now on ext4_do_writepages(

igb: Fix igb_down hung on surprise removal

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: igb: Fix igb_down hung on surprise removal In a setup where a Thunderbolt hub connects to Ethernet and a display through USB Type-C, users may experience a hung task timeout when they remove the cable between the PC and the Thunderbolt hub. This is because the igb_down function is called multiple times when the Thunderbolt hub is unplugged. For example, the igb_io_error_detected triggers the first call, and the igb_remove triggers the second call. The second call to igb_down will block at napi_synchronize. Here's the call trace: __schedule+0x3b0/0xddb ? __mod_timer+

xfrm: add NULL check in xfrm_update_ae_params

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: add NULL check in xfrm_update_ae_params Normally, x->replay_esn and x->preplay_esn should be allocated at xfrm_alloc_replay_state_esn(...) in xfrm_state_construct(...), hence the xfrm_update_ae_params(...) is okay to update them. However, the current implementation of xfrm_new_ae(...) allows a malicious user to directly dereference a NULL pointer and crash the kernel like below. BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000000 PGD 8253067 P4D 8253067 PUD 8e0e067 PMD 0 Oops: 0002 [#1] PREEMPT SMP KASAN NOPTI CPU: 0 PID: 98 Comm: poc.npd Not tainted 6.4.

drm/msm: Make .remove and .shutdown HW shutdown consistent

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm: Make .remove and .shutdown HW shutdown consistent Drivers' .remove and .shutdown callbacks are executed on different code paths. The former is called when a device is removed from the bus, while the latter is called at system shutdown time to quiesce the device. This means that some overlap exists between the two, because both have to take care of properly shutting down the hardware. But currently the logic used in these two callbacks isn't consistent in msm drivers, which could lead to kernel panic. For example, on .remove the component is deleted and its .unbin

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: brcmfmac: Fix potential stack-out-of-bounds in brcmf_c_preinit_dcmds() This patch fixes a stack-out-of-bounds read in brcmfmac that occurs when 'buf' that is not null-terminated is passed as an argument of strsep() in brcmf_c_preinit_dcmds(). This buffer is filled with a firmware version string by memcpy() in brcmf_fil_iovar_data_get(). The patch ensures buf is null-terminated. Found by a modified version of syzkaller. drm/meson: remove drm bridges at aggregate driver unbind time

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/meson: remove drm bridges at aggregate driver unbind time drm bridges added by meson_encoder_hdmi_init and meson_encoder_cvbs_init were not manually removed at module unload time, which caused dangling references to freed memory to remain linked in the global bridge_list. When loading the driver modules back in, the same functions would again call drm_bridge_add, and when traversing the global bridge_list, would end up peeking into freed memory. Once again KASAN revealed the problem: [ +0.000095] ============================================================= [ +0.00

usb: dwc3: Remove WARN_ON for device endpoint command timeouts

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: dwc3: Remove WARN_ON for device endpoint command timeouts This commit addresses a rarely observed endpoint command timeout which causes kernel panic due to warn when 'panic_on_warn' is enabled and unnecessary call trace prints when 'panic_on_warn' is disabled. It is seen during fast software-controlled connect/disconnect testcases. The following is one such endpoint command timeout that we observed: 1. xfrm: Duplicate SPI Handling

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: Duplicate SPI Handling The issue originates when Strongswan initiates an XFRM_MSG_ALLOCSPI Netlink message, which triggers the kernel function xfrm_alloc_spi(). This function is expected to ensure uniqueness of the Security Parameter Index (SPI) for inbound Security Associations (SAs). However, it can return success even when the requested SPI is already in use, leading to duplicate SPIs assigned to multiple inbound SAs, differentiated only by their destination addresses. This behavior causes inconsistencies during SPI lookups for inbound packets. Since the lookup ma

soc: qcom: mdt_loader: Ensure we don't read past the ELF header

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: soc: qcom: mdt_loader: Ensure we don't read past the ELF header When the MDT loader is used in remoteproc, the ELF header is sanitized beforehand, but that's not necessary the case for other clients. Validate the size of the firmware buffer to ensure that we don't read past the end as we iterate over the header. e_phentsize and e_shentsize are validated as well, to ensure that the assumptions about step size in the traversal are valid.

    jbd2: prevent softlockup in jbd2_log_do_checkpoint()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: jbd2: prevent softlockup in jbd2_log_do_checkpoint() Both jbd2_log_do_checkpoint() and jbd2_journal_shrink_checkpoint_list() periodically release j_list_lock after processing a batch of buffers to avoid long hold times on the j_list_lock. However, since both functions contend for j_list_lock, the combined time spent waiting and processing can be significant. jbd2_journal_shrink_checkpoint_list() explicitly calls cond_resched() when need_resched() is true to avoid softlockups during prolonged operations. But jbd2_log_do_checkpoint() only exits its loop when need_resched() i

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: bridge: fix soft lockup in br_multicast_query_expired() When set multicast_query_interval to a large value, the local variable 'time' in br_multicast_send_query() may overflow. If the time is smaller than jiffies, the timer will expire immediately, and then call mod_timer() again, which creates a loop and may trigger the following soft lockup issue. watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#1 stuck for 221s!
