    Bluetooth: Fix use-after-free in l2cap_sock_cleanup_listen()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: Fix use-after-free in l2cap_sock_cleanup_listen() syzbot reported the splat below without a repro. In the splat, a single thread calling bt_accept_dequeue() freed sk and touched it after that. The root cause would be the racy l2cap_sock_cleanup_listen() call added by the cited commit. bt_accept_dequeue() is called under lock_sock() except for l2cap_sock_release(). Two threads could see the same socket during the list iteration in bt_accept_dequeue(): CPU1 CPU2 (close()) ---- ---- sock_hold(sk)

i40e: Fix potential invalid access when MAC list is empty

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i40e: Fix potential invalid access when MAC list is empty list_first_entry() never returns NULL - if the list is empty, it still returns a pointer to an invalid object, leading to potential invalid memory access when dereferenced. Fix this by using list_first_entry_or_null instead of list_first_entry.

ax25: properly unshare skbs in ax25_kiss_rcv()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ax25: properly unshare skbs in ax25_kiss_rcv() Bernard Pidoux reported a regression apparently caused by commit c353e8983e0d ("net: introduce per netns packet chains"). skb->dev becomes NULL and we crash in __netif_receive_skb_core(). Before above commit, different kind of bugs or corruptions could happen without a major crash. But the root cause is that ax25_kiss_rcv() can queue/mangle input skb without checking if this skb is shared or not. Many thanks to Bernard Pidoux for his help, diagnosis and tests. We had a similar issue years ago fixed with commit 7aaed57c5c28

ppp: fix memory leak in pad_compress_skb

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ppp: fix memory leak in pad_compress_skb If alloc_skb() fails in pad_compress_skb(), it returns NULL without releasing the old skb. The caller does: skb = pad_compress_skb(ppp, skb); if (!skb) goto drop; drop: kfree_skb(skb); When pad_compress_skb() returns NULL, the reference to the old skb is lost and kfree_skb(skb) ends up doing nothing, leading to a memory leak. Align pad_compress_skb() semantics with realloc(): only free the old skb if allocation and compression succeed. At the call site, use the new_skb variable so the original skb is not lost

pcmcia: Fix a NULL pointer dereference in __iodyn_find_io_region()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pcmcia: Fix a NULL pointer dereference in __iodyn_find_io_region() In __iodyn_find_io_region(), pcmcia_make_resource() is assigned to res and used in pci_bus_alloc_resource(). There is a dereference of res in pci_bus_alloc_resource(), which could lead to a NULL pointer dereference on failure of pcmcia_make_resource(). Fix this bug by adding a check of res.

scsi: lpfc: Fix buffer free/clear order in deferred receive path

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: lpfc: Fix buffer free/clear order in deferred receive path Fix a use-after-free window by correcting the buffer release sequence in the deferred receive path. The code freed the RQ buffer first and only then cleared the context pointer under the lock. Concurrent paths (e.g., ABTS and the repost path) also inspect and release the same pointer under the lock, so the old order could lead to double-free/UAF. Note that the repost path already uses the correct pattern: detach the pointer under the lock, then free it after dropping the lock. The deferred path should do the

    batman-adv: fix OOB read/write in network-coding decode

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: batman-adv: fix OOB read/write in network-coding decode batadv_nc_skb_decode_packet() trusts coded_len and checks only against skb->len. XOR starts at sizeof(struct batadv_unicast_packet), reducing payload headroom, and the source skb length is not verified, allowing an out-of-bounds read and a small out-of-bounds write. Validate that coded_len fits within the payload area of both destination and source sk_buffs before XORing.

x86/MCE: Always save CS register on AMD Zen IF Poison errors

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/MCE: Always save CS register on AMD Zen IF Poison errors The Instruction Fetch (IF) units on current AMD Zen-based systems do not guarantee a synchronous #MC is delivered for poison consumption errors. Therefore, MCG_STATUS[EIPV|RIPV] will not be set. However, the microarchitecture does guarantee that the exception is delivered within the same context. In other words, the exact rIP is not known, but the context is known to not have changed. There is no architecturally-defined method to determine this behavior. The Code Segment (CS) register is always valid on such IF

btrfs: don't check PageError in __extent_writepage

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: don't check PageError in __extent_writepage __extent_writepage currenly sets PageError whenever any error happens, and the also checks for PageError to decide if to call error handling. This leads to very unclear responsibility for cleaning up on errors. In the VM and generic writeback helpers the basic idea is that once I/O is fired off all error handling responsibility is delegated to the end I/O handler. But if that end I/O handler sets the PageError bit, and the submitter checks it, the bit could in some cases leak into the submission context for fast enough I/O

drm/panfrost: Fix GEM handle creation ref-counting

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/panfrost: Fix GEM handle creation ref-counting panfrost_gem_create_with_handle() previously returned a BO but with the only reference being from the handle, which user space could in theory guess and release, causing a use-after-free. Additionally if the call to panfrost_gem_mapping_get() in panfrost_ioctl_create_bo() failed then a(nother) reference on the BO was dropped. The _create_with_handle() is a problematic pattern, so ditch it and instead create the handle in panfrost_ioctl_create_bo(). If the call to panfrost_gem_mapping_get() fails then this means that user s

drm: bridge: adv7511: unregister cec i2c device after cec adapter

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm: bridge: adv7511: unregister cec i2c device after cec adapter cec_unregister_adapter() assumes that the underlying adapter ops are callable. For example, if the CEC adapter currently has a valid physical address, then the unregistration procedure will invalidate the physical address by setting it to f.f.f.f. Whence the following kernel oops observed after removing the adv7511 module: Unable to handle kernel execution of user memory at virtual address 0000000000000000 Internal error: Oops: 86000004 [#1] PREEMPT_RT SMP Call trace: 0x0 adv7511_cec_ad

NFSD: Protect against send buffer overflow in NFSv2 READ

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSD: Protect against send buffer overflow in NFSv2 READ Since before the git era, NFSD has conserved the number of pages held by each nfsd thread by combining the RPC receive and send buffers into a single array of pages. This works because there are no cases where an operation needs a large RPC Call message and a large RPC Reply at the same time. Once an RPC Call has been received, svc_process() updates svc_rqst::rq_res to describe the part of rq_pages that can be used for constructing the Reply. This means that the send buffer (rq_res) shrinks when the received RPC reco

USB: dwc3: fix memory leak with using debugfs_lookup()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: dwc3: fix memory leak with using debugfs_lookup() When calling debugfs_lookup() the result must have dput() called on it, otherwise the memory will leak over time. To make things simpler, just call debugfs_lookup_and_remove() instead which handles all of the logic at once. Note, the root dentry for the debugfs directory for the device needs to be saved so we don't have to keep looking it up, which required a bit more refactoring to properly create and remove it when needed.
