net: defer final 'struct net' free in netns dismantle

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: defer final 'struct net' free in netns dismantle Ilya reported a slab-use-after-free in dst_destroy [1] Issue is in xfrm6_net_init() and xfrm4_net_init() : They copy xfrm[46]_dst_ops_template into net->xfrm.xfrm[46]_dst_ops. But net structure might be freed before all the dst callbacks are called. So when dst_destroy() calls later : if (dst->ops->destroy) dst->ops->destroy(dst); dst->ops points to the old net->xfrm.xfrm[46]_dst_ops, which has been freed. See a relevant issue fixed in : ac888d58869b ("net: do not delay dst_entries_add() in dst_release()") A

net/ipv6: release expired exception dst cached in socket

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/ipv6: release expired exception dst cached in socket Dst objects get leaked in ip6_negative_advice() when this function is executed for an expired IPv6 route located in the exception table. There are several conditions that must be fulfilled for the leak to occur: * an ICMPv6 packet indicating a change of the MTU for the path is received, resulting in an exception dst being created * a TCP connection that uses the exception dst for routing packets must start timing out so that TCP begins retransmissions * after the exception dst expires, the FIB6 garbage collector m

tipc: Fix use-after-free of kernel socket in cleanup_bearer().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tipc: Fix use-after-free of kernel socket in cleanup_bearer(). syzkaller reported a use-after-free of UDP kernel socket in cleanup_bearer() without repro. [0][1] When bearer_disable() calls tipc_udp_disable(), cleanup of the UDP kernel socket is deferred by work calling cleanup_bearer(). tipc_exit_net() waits for such works to finish by checking tipc_net(net)->wq_count. However, the work decrements the count too early before releasing the kernel socket, unblocking cleanup_net() and resulting in use-after-free. Let's move the decrement after releasing the socket in clean

nilfs2: fix potential out-of-bounds memory access in nilfs_find_entry()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nilfs2: fix potential out-of-bounds memory access in nilfs_find_entry() Syzbot reported that when searching for records in a directory where the inode's i_size is corrupted and has a large value, memory access outside the folio/page range may occur, or a use-after-free bug may be detected if KASAN is enabled. This is because nilfs_last_byte(), which is called by nilfs_find_entry() and others to calculate the number of valid bytes of directory data in a page from i_size and the page index, loses the upper 32 bits of the 64-bit size information due to an inappropriate type o

drm/dp_mst: Fix MST sideband message body length check

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/dp_mst: Fix MST sideband message body length check Fix the MST sideband message body length check, which must be at least 1 byte accounting for the message body CRC (aka message data CRC) at the end of the message. This fixes a case where an MST branch device returns a header with a correct header CRC (indicating a correctly received body length), with the body length being incorrectly set to 0. This will later lead to a memory corruption in drm_dp_sideband_append_payload() and the following errors in dmesg: UBSAN: array-index-out-of-bounds in drivers/gpu/drm/displ

mm/mempolicy: fix migrate_to_node() assuming there is at least one VMA in a MM

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/mempolicy: fix migrate_to_node() assuming there is at least one VMA in a MM We currently assume that there is at least one VMA in a MM, which isn't true. So we might end up having find_vma() return NULL, to then de-reference NULL. So properly handle find_vma() returning NULL. af_packet: avoid erroring out after sock_init_data() in packet_create()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_packet: avoid erroring out after sock_init_data() in packet_create() After sock_init_data() the allocated sk object is attached to the provided sock object. On error, packet_create() frees the sk object leaving the dangling pointer in the sock object on return. Some other code may try to use this pointer and cause use-after-free.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: L2CAP: do not leave dangling sk pointer on error in l2cap_sock_create() bt_sock_alloc() allocates the sk object and attaches it to the provided sock object. On error l2cap_sock_alloc() frees the sk object, but the dangling pointer is still attached to the sock object, which may create use-after-free in other code.

Bluetooth: RFCOMM: avoid leaving dangling sk pointer in rfcomm_sock_alloc()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: RFCOMM: avoid leaving dangling sk pointer in rfcomm_sock_alloc() bt_sock_alloc() attaches allocated sk object to the provided sock object. If rfcomm_dlc_alloc() fails, we release the sk object, but leave the dangling pointer in the sock object, which may cause use-after-free. Fix this by swapping calls to bt_sock_alloc() and rfcomm_dlc_alloc().

net: af_can: do not leave a dangling sk pointer in can_create()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: af_can: do not leave a dangling sk pointer in can_create() On error can_create() frees the allocated sk object, but sock_init_data() has already attached it to the provided sock object. This will leave a dangling sk pointer in the sock object and may cause use-after-free later.
