    net/sched: stop qdisc_tree_reduce_backlog on TC_H_ROOT

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: stop qdisc_tree_reduce_backlog on TC_H_ROOT In qdisc_tree_reduce_backlog, Qdiscs with major handle ffff: are assumed to be either root or ingress. This assumption is bogus since it's valid to create egress qdiscs with major handle ffff: Budimir Markovic found that for qdiscs like DRR that maintain an active class list, it will cause a UAF with a dangling class pointer. In 066a3b5b2346, the concern was to avoid iterating over the ingress qdisc since its parent is itself. The proper fix is to stop when parent TC_H_ROOT is reached because the only way to retrieve i

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv4: ip_tunnel: Fix suspicious RCU usage warning in ip_tunnel_find() The per-netns IP tunnel hash table is protected by the RTNL mutex and ip_tunnel_find() is only called from the control path where the mutex is taken. Add a lockdep expression to hlist_for_each_entry_rcu() in ip_tunnel_find() in order to validate that the mutex is held and to silence the suspicious RCU usage warning [1]. HID: core: zero-initialize the report buffer

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: core: zero-initialize the report buffer Since the report buffer is used by all kinds of drivers in various ways, let's zero-initialize it during allocation to make sure that it can't be ever used to leak kernel memory via specially-crafted report.

media: v4l2-tpg: prevent the risk of a division by zero

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: v4l2-tpg: prevent the risk of a division by zero As reported by Coverity, the logic at tpg_precalculate_line() blindly rescales the buffer even when scaled_witdh is equal to zero. If this ever happens, this will cause a division by zero. Instead, add a WARN_ON_ONCE() to trigger such cases and return without doing any precalculation.

dm cache: fix potential out-of-bounds access on the first resume

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dm cache: fix potential out-of-bounds access on the first resume Out-of-bounds access occurs if the fast device is expanded unexpectedly before the first-time resume of the cache table. This happens because expanding the fast device requires reloading the cache table for cache_create to allocate new in-core data structures that fit the new size, and the check in cache_preresume is not performed during the first resume, leading to the issue. Reproduce steps: 1. prepare component devices: dmsetup create cmeta --table "0 8192 linear /dev/sdc 0" dmsetup create cdata --table

Kernel: ksmbd: transform header out-of-bounds read information disclosure vulnerability

A flaw was found within the parsing of SMB2 requests that have a transform header in the kernel ksmbd module. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a read past the end of an allocated buffer. An attacker can leverage this to disclose sensitive information on affected installations of Linux. Only systems with ksmbd enabled are vulnerable to this CVE.

wifi: iwlegacy: Clear stale interrupts before resuming device

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlegacy: Clear stale interrupts before resuming device iwl4965 fails upon resume from hibernation on my laptop. The reason seems to be a stale interrupt which isn't being cleared out before interrupts are enabled. We end up with a race beween the resume trying to bring things back up, and the restart work (queued form the interrupt handler) trying to bring things down. Eventually the whole thing blows up. Fix the problem by clearing out any stale interrupts before interrupts get enabled during resume. Here's a debug log of the indicent: [ 12.042589] ieee80211 phy

staging: iio: frequency: ad9832: fix division by zero in ad9832_calc_freqreg()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: iio: frequency: ad9832: fix division by zero in ad9832_calc_freqreg() In the ad9832_write_frequency() function, clk_get_rate() might return 0. This can lead to a division by zero when calling ad9832_calc_freqreg(). The check if (fout > (clk_get_rate(st->mclk) / 2)) does not protect against the case when fout is 0. The ad9832_write_frequency() function is called from ad9832_write(), and fout is derived from a text buffer, which can contain any value.
