slip: reject VJ receive packets on instances with no rstate array

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: slip: reject VJ receive packets on instances with no rstate array slhc_init() accepts rslots == 0 as a valid configuration, with the documented meaning of 'no receive compression'. In that case the allocation loop in slhc_init() is skipped, so comp->rstate stays NULL and comp->rslot_limit stays 0 (from the kzalloc of struct slcompress). The receive helpers do not defend against that configuration. slhc_uncompress() dereferences comp->rstate[x] when the VJ header carries an explicit connection ID, and slhc_remember() later assigns cs = &comp->rstate[...] after only comparin

    netfilter: nfnetlink_osf: fix divide-by-zero in OSF_WSS_MODULO

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nfnetlink_osf: fix divide-by-zero in OSF_WSS_MODULO nf_osf_match_one() computes ctx->window % f->wss.val in the OSF_WSS_MODULO branch with no guard for f->wss.val == 0. A CAP_NET_ADMIN user can add such a fingerprint via nfnetlink; a subsequent matching TCP SYN divides by zero and panics the kernel. Reject the bogus fingerprint in nfnl_osf_add_callback() above the per-option for-loop. f->wss is per-fingerprint, not per-option, so the check must run regardless of f->opt_num (including 0). Also reject wss.wc >= OSF_WSS_MAX; nf_osf_match_one() already treats that a

openvswitch: cap upcall PID array size and pre-size vport replies

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: openvswitch: cap upcall PID array size and pre-size vport replies The vport netlink reply helpers allocate a fixed-size skb with nlmsg_new(NLMSG_DEFAULT_SIZE, ...) but serialize the full upcall PID array via ovs_vport_get_upcall_portids(). Since ovs_vport_set_upcall_portids() accepts any non-zero multiple of sizeof(u32) with no upper bound, a CAP_NET_ADMIN user can install a PID array large enough to overflow the reply buffer, causing nla_put() to fail with -EMSGSIZE and hitting BUG_ON(err < 0). On systems with unprivileged user namespaces enabled (e.g., Ubuntu default),

bpf: reject negative CO-RE accessor indices in bpf_core_parse_spec()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: reject negative CO-RE accessor indices in bpf_core_parse_spec() CO-RE accessor strings are colon-separated indices that describe a path from a root BTF type to a target field, e.g. "0:1:2" walks through nested struct members. bpf_core_parse_spec() parses each component with sscanf("%d"), so negative values like -1 are silently accepted. The subsequent bounds checks (access_idx >= btf_vlen(t)) only guard the upper bound and always pass for negative values because C integer promotion converts the __u16 btf_vlen result to int, making the comparison (int)(-1) >= (int)(N)

bpf: fix end-of-list detection in cgroup_storage_get_next_key()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: fix end-of-list detection in cgroup_storage_get_next_key() list_next_entry() never returns NULL -- when the current element is the last entry it wraps to the list head via container_of(). The subsequent NULL check is therefore dead code and get_next_key() never returns -ENOENT for the last element, instead reading storage->key from a bogus pointer that aliases internal map fields and copying the result to userspace. Replace it with list_entry_is_head() so the function correctly returns -ENOENT when there are no more entries.

net: skbuff: preserve shared-frag marker during coalescing

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: skbuff: preserve shared-frag marker during coalescing skb_try_coalesce() can attach paged frags from @from to @to. If @from has SKBFL_SHARED_FRAG set, the resulting @to skb can contain the same externally-owned or page-cache-backed frags, but the shared-frag marker is currently lost. That breaks the invariant relied on by later in-place writers. In particular, ESP input checks skb_has_shared_frag() before deciding whether an uncloned nonlinear skb can skip skb_cow_data(). If TCP receive coalescing has moved shared frags into an unmarked skb, ESP can see skb_has_sha

net: skbuff: propagate shared-frag marker through frag-transfer helpers

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: skbuff: propagate shared-frag marker through frag-transfer helpers Two frag-transfer helpers (__pskb_copy_fclone() and skb_shift()) fail to propagate the SKBFL_SHARED_FRAG bit in skb_shinfo()->flags when moving frags from source to destination. __pskb_copy_fclone() defers the rest of the shinfo metadata to skb_copy_header() after copying frag descriptors, but that helper only carries over gso_{size,segs, type} and never touches skb_shinfo()->flags; skb_shift() moves frag descriptors directly and leaves flags untouched. As a result, the destination skb keeps a referen

net/rds: handle zerocopy send cleanup before the message is queued

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/rds: handle zerocopy send cleanup before the message is queued A zerocopy send can fail after user pages have been pinned but before the message is attached to the sending socket. The purge path currently infers zerocopy state from rm->m_rs, so an unqueued message can be cleaned up as if it owned normal payload pages. However, zerocopy ownership is really determined by the presence of op_mmp_znotifier, regardless of whether the message has reached the socket queue. Capture op_mmp_znotifier up front in rds_message_purge() and use it as the cleanup discriminator. If the

ipv6: rpl: reserve mac_len headroom when recompressed SRH grows

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: rpl: reserve mac_len headroom when recompressed SRH grows ipv6_rpl_srh_rcv() decompresses an RFC 6554 Source Routing Header, swaps the next segment into ipv6_hdr->daddr, recompresses, then pulls the old header and pushes the new one plus the IPv6 header back. The recompressed header can be larger than the received one when the swap reduces the common-prefix length the segments share with daddr (CmprI=0, CmprE>0, seg[0][0] != daddr[0] gives the maximum +8 bytes). pskb_expand_head() was gated on segments_left == 0, so on earlier segments the push consumed unchecked he

rtmutex: Use waiter::task instead of current in remove_waiter()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rtmutex: Use waiter::task instead of current in remove_waiter() remove_waiter() is used by the slowlock paths, but it is also used for proxy-lock rollback in rt_mutex_start_proxy_lock() when invoked from futex_requeue(). In the latter case waiter::task is not current, but remove_waiter() operates on current for the dequeue operation. That results in several problems: 1) the rbtree dequeue happens without waiter::task::pi_lock being held 2) the waiter task's pi_blocked_on state is not cleared, which leaves a dangling pointer primed for UAF around. 3) rt_mutex_

fbdev: udlfb: add vm_ops to dlfb_ops_mmap to prevent use-after-free

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fbdev: udlfb: add vm_ops to dlfb_ops_mmap to prevent use-after-free dlfb_ops_mmap() uses remap_pfn_range() to map vmalloc framebuffer pages to userspace but sets no vm_ops on the VMA. This means the kernel cannot track active mmaps. When dlfb_realloc_framebuffer() replaces the backing buffer via FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO, existing mmap PTEs are not invalidated. On USB disconnect, dlfb_ops_destroy() calls vfree() on the old pages while userspace PTEs still reference them, resulting in a use-after-free: the process retains read/write access to freed kernel pages. net/sched: sch_red: Replace direct dequeue call with peek and qdisc_dequeue_peeked

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: sch_red: Replace direct dequeue call with peek and qdisc_dequeue_peeked When red qdisc has children (eg qfq qdisc) whose peek() callback is qdisc_peek_dequeued(), we could get a kernel panic. When the parent of such qdiscs (eg illustrated in patch #3 as tbf) wants to retrieve an skb from its child (red in this case), it will do the following: 1a. do a peek() - and when sensing there's an skb the child can offer, then - the child in this case(red) calls its child's (qfq) peek. qfq does the right thing and will return the gso_skb queue packet.

net/rds: reset op_nents when zerocopy page pin fails

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/rds: reset op_nents when zerocopy page pin fails When iov_iter_get_pages2() fails in rds_message_zcopy_from_user(), the pinned pages are released with put_page(), and rm->data.op_mmp_znotifier is cleared. But we fail to properly clear rm->data.op_nents. Later when rds_message_purge() is called from rds_sendmsg() the cleanup loop iterates over the incorrectly non zero number of op_nents and frees them again. Fix this by properly resetting op_nents when it should be in rds_message_zcopy_from_user().

lib/crypto: mpi: Fix integer underflow in mpi_read_raw_from_sgl()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: lib/crypto: mpi: Fix integer underflow in mpi_read_raw_from_sgl() Yiming reports an integer underflow in mpi_read_raw_from_sgl() when subtracting "lzeros" from the unsigned "nbytes". For this to happen, the scatterlist "sgl" needs to occupy more bytes than the "nbytes" parameter and the first "nbytes + 1" bytes of the scatterlist must be zero. Under these conditions, the while loop iterating over the scatterlist will count more zeroes than "nbytes", subtract the number of zeroes from "nbytes" and cause the underflow. When commit 2d4d1eea540b ("lib/mpi: Add mpi sgl helper

net: qrtr: ns: Limit the maximum server registration per node

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: qrtr: ns: Limit the maximum server registration per node Current code does no bound checking on the number of servers added per node. A malicious client can flood NEW_SERVER messages and exhaust memory. Fix this issue by limiting the maximum number of server registrations to 256 per node. If the NEW_SERVER message is received for an old port, then don't restrict it as it will get replaced. While at it, also rate limit the error messages in the failure path of qrtr_ns_worker(). Note that the limit of 256 is chosen based on the current platform requirements. If require

    ptrace: slightly saner 'get_dumpable()' logic

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ptrace: slightly saner 'get_dumpable()' logic The 'dumpability' of a task is fundamentally about the memory image of the task - the concept comes from whether it can core dump or not - and makes no sense when you don't have an associated mm. And almost all users do in fact use it only for the case where the task has a mm pointer. But we have one odd special case: ptrace_may_access() uses 'dumpable' to check various other things entirely independently of the MM (typically explicitly using flags like PTRACE_MODE_READ_FSCREDS). Including for threads that no longer have a VM
