Zope AccessControl: Information disclosure through Python string `format` and `format_map` functions

Zope AccessControl provides a general security framework for use in Zope. Prior to 7.4, applications that allow untrusted users to create and execute AccessControl-controlled Python code do not safely guard str.format and str.format_map when those methods are reached through a str subclass. In both ImplPython.py and cAccessControl.c, Python formatting can recursively access attributes and subscriptions using unrestricted getattr and getitem behavior instead of the policy-restricted getattr and getitem operations. A controlled format string can therefore disclose objects reachable from values available to the formatting operation. This issue i

RestrictedPython: Sandbox escape via string.Formatter field resolution

RestrictedPython is a tool that helps define a subset of the Python language for accepting program input in a trusted environment. Prior to 8.4, RestrictedPython could allow a sandbox escape when a custom import policy or globals exposed the standard library string module, the string.Formatter class, a Formatter instance, or a Formatter subclass to restricted code. The string.Formatter methods format, get_field, get_value, and vformat performed attribute and item traversal internally without passing through RestrictedPython's safer_getattr protections. Restricted code could use those live object references to reach function globals, builtins,

Client mass-assignment of arbitrary view attributes via the default dj-model update_model handler

djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance. Prior to version 1.0.7, `djust.mixins.model_binding.ModelBindingMixin` provides a default `update_model` event handler and is part of the LiveView base MRO, so every LiveView exposes it. It `setattr`s a view attribute whose name is client-supplied (`field`), gated only by: reject `_`-prefixed names; reject a 14-entry denylist of framework internals (`FORBIDDEN_MODEL_FIELDS`); optional `allowed_model_fields` which defaults to None = allow all; and `hasattr` existence. As a result, a client can set any public, existing view attribute —

djust's observability endpoints are network-exposed: the localhost gate is an opt-in middleware the docs omit, and the views enforce only DEBUG

djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance. Prior to version 1.0.7, djust's observability endpoints expose live view/session state and a remote method-invocation surface (`eval_handler`). The localhost restriction was an opt-in middleware that the documented setup omits; the views themselves enforced only `DEBUG`. In the misconfigured-but-documented scenario (DEBUG on, middleware not installed) a non-localhost client could read live application state and invoke handlers remotely. This issue is fixed in djust 1.0.7. The localhost restriction is enforced in-view on every observa

Apache Airflow Apache Kafka provider: Connection-editor remote code execution on the Scheduler via Kafka connection callback configuration

Apache Airflow Apache Kafka provider versions 1.15.0 before 2.0.0 resolve dotted-path strings found in a Kafka connection's `extra` field into Python callables via `import_string`, with no allowlist, and hand them to the confluent-kafka client which invokes them. Deployments that have enabled the Kafka event producer — `dag_run_events_enabled` or `task_instance_events_enabled`, both disabled by default — build that client inside the scheduler process, so a user whose only privilege is editing Airflow connections gains arbitrary code execution in the control plane; the Airflow security model limits connection-configuration users to code execut

DIRAC: Pilot code downloaded over unverified HTTPS connection

DIRAC is an interware, meaning a software framework for distributed computing. Prior to versions 8.0.79, 9.0.22, and 9.1.10, WorkloadManagementSystem/Utilities/PilotWrapper.py pilotWrapperScript uses ssl._create_unverified_context to download the second-stage pilot.tar archive without TLS certificate verification and downloads the reference checksum through the same unvalidated channel. An attacker able to redirect or intercept a grid site's network traffic through DNS or routing manipulation can substitute both the executable pilot code and its checksum, causing arbitrary code to run in the pilot context with access to pilot proxy credential

Prior to versions 8.0.79, 9.0.22, and 9.1.10, DataManagementSystem/Service/FileCatalogHandler.py checkDataset forwards an authenticated caller-controlled datasets value to DatasetManager.py __checkDataset, where datasetName is interpolated into an FC_MetaDatasets SQL query without parameterization. Bugsink: DOS using large numbers of event tags

Bugsink is a self-hosted error tracking tool. Prior to version 2.2.2, Bugsink stores every set of custom tags supplied with an incoming event, allowing a caller with a valid project DSN to submit an unusually large tag set and force excessive tag-row writes. Because Bugsink uses a single-writer database architecture, the expensive write transaction delays digestion of other events and causes a temporary ingestion denial of service. Version 2.2.2 applies the configurable MAX_EVENT_TAGS limit before storage. The impact is limited to availability for an instance accepting the event and does not expose stored data, modify existing events, or allo

Meta Ads MCP: X-Pipeboard-Token Header Auth Bypass Reuses Operator Meta Token

Meta Ads MCP is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that lets AI assistants run Meta Ads. Prior to version 1.0.115, AuthInjectionMiddleware in meta_ads_mcp/core/http_auth_integration.py rejects HTTP MCP requests only when both auth_token and pipeboard_token are absent, while extract_token_from_headers() does not recognize X-Pipeboard-Token as a primary credential. A network caller using the streamable-http transport can therefore send any X-Pipeboard-Token value, pass the guard without establishing authentication context, and cause get_auth_token() to fall back to the server operator's META_ACCESS_TOKEN. Prior to 1.0.2, the python_sandbox_server in mcp-servers/python/python_sandbox_server/src/python_sandbox_server/server_fastmcp.py exposes raw getattr through safe_builtins, omits a required _getattr_ guard, and relies on validate_code checks for literal dangerous dunder strings. plone.app.textfield: Stored XSS by spoofing mime type

plone.app.textfield provides a zope.schema-style field type called RichText for storing a value with a related MIME type. Prior to 2.0.2, 3.0.2, and 4.0.1, depending on the release line, RichTextValue.output returns an unsanitized stored RichText value when mimeType equals outputMimeType, including values that claim the text/x-html-safe output type. This equality shortcut bypasses the safe_html transform even though the transform itself correctly removes event-handler attributes and unsafe URI schemes. Equal types can result from a RichText field configured with the same mimeType and outputMimeType or from REST API input that supplies text/x-

Kiwi TCMS: Stored XSS via javascript: URI in extra_link field (TestPlan & TestCase)

Kiwi TCMS is an open source test management system. Prior to 16.1, TestCase.extra_link and TestPlan.extra_link accepted unsanitized user input and rendered stored values verbatim, creating an opportunity for cross-site scripting. Official Docker images and unmodified Kiwi TCMS middleware send a Content-Security-Policy header that blocks inline JavaScript, making exploitation difficult in default deployments, while customized deployments that weaken those security settings may remain vulnerable. Version 16.1 properly sanitizes both fields and resets existing database records that do not validate to null. This issue is fixed in version 16.1.

Kiwi TCMS is an open source test management system. Prior to 16.1, the account confirmation endpoint accepted an unvalidated next parameter, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to create a URL on a trusted Kiwi TCMS hostname that redirects a victim to an arbitrary external domain. The trusted origin can support credential-harvesting pages, bypass email security filters and link-reputation checks that allowlist the organization's domain, or deliver malware through a convincing account-confirmation lure.
