    Medium · CVSS 6.5EPSS 0.36%No fix published

    Gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: out-of-bounds write in gst_h266_parser_parse_dci() due to off-by-one array bound check

A flaw was found in GStreamer's H.266 codec parser library (libgstcodecparsers). An out-of-bounds write vulnerability exists in the DCI parsing function, where a reserved field value is incorrectly accepted, causing the parser to write beyond the bounds of an internal structure. An attacker could exploit this by providing a specially crafted H.266 bitstream to a third-party application that uses this library API, potentially causing a crash or memory corruption. No standard GStreamer pipeline element currently invokes the affected code path.

Gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: heap out-of-bounds write in asfmux due to incorrect utf-16 size calculation for non-bmp characters

A flaw was found in the GStreamer multimedia framework's ASF muxer plugin (asfmux). When writing string metadata tags containing Unicode characters outside the Basic Multilingual Plane (such as emoji) to an ASF container, the plugin incorrectly calculates the buffer size needed for the UTF-16LE representation. The size calculation assumes each Unicode code point requires 2 bytes, but non-BMP characters require 4 bytes (surrogate pairs). This leads to a heap out-of-bounds write when the actual UTF-16LE conversion is written into the undersized buffer. An attacker could exploit this by providing media with crafted metadata tags to an applicatio

Gstreamer: gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: gstreamer: heap out-of-bounds write in adpcmdec ima/dvi adpcm decoder

A heap out-of-bounds write vulnerability was found in the GStreamer gst-plugins-bad adpcmdec element when decoding IMA/DVI ADPCM audio. Insufficient validation of the per-block sample count for multi-channel streams allows a crafted WAV file to cause writes beyond the allocated output buffer. This can lead to application crash, denial of service, memory corruption, or potentially arbitrary code execution when untrusted media is processed.

Gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: gstreamer: dtls certificate subject dn stack buffer overflow in openssl_verify_callback

A stack buffer overflow vulnerability was found in GStreamer's DTLS plugin. During a DTLS handshake, the peer certificate Subject Distinguished Name is printed into a fixed-size 2048-byte stack buffer without bounds checking. A remote unauthenticated attacker can send a certificate with an oversized Subject DN that exceeds the buffer, causing a stack buffer overflow and process crash, resulting in denial of service.

    High · CVSS 7.1EPSS 0.33%No fix published

Gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: gstreamer: rfbsrc/librfb hextile heap out-of-bounds write with 16bpp framebuffer

A heap buffer overflow vulnerability was found in GStreamer's rfbsrc plugin. When a client connects to a malicious RFB/VNC server that advertises a 16bpp framebuffer and sends Hextile-encoded updates, the Hextile background fill path writes 32-bit pixel values into a buffer allocated for 16-bit pixels. This type mismatch causes an out-of-bounds heap write that can lead to denial of service (process crash) and potential memory corruption.

    Low · CVSS 3.7EPSS 0.23%No fix published

Gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: gstreamer: webrtcbin accepts remote sdp without a=fingerprint due to inverted presence check

A logic vulnerability was found in GStreamer's webrtcbin component. The _check_sdp_crypto() function contains an inverted boolean condition that causes it to accept remote SDP offers or answers that lack the required a=fingerprint attribute, while incorrectly rejecting those that include it. An attacker with the ability to intercept and modify WebRTC signaling messages could exploit this to bypass the SDP-level DTLS certificate fingerprint binding, weakening defenses against man-in-the-middle attacks on media streams.

    Medium · CVSS 4.4EPSS 0.16%Fix available

    Gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: gstreamer1-plugins-bad: 1-byte heap out-of-bounds read in h.264 nal extension slice parser

A flaw was found in GStreamer's gst-plugins-bad package. When processing a specially crafted H.264 video file containing malformed MVC or SVC extension slice NAL units, a 1-byte heap out-of-bounds read can occur during parsing. This happens when the parser attempts to check slice boundary information without first verifying that the NAL unit contains enough data beyond the extension header. An attacker could exploit this by tricking a user into opening a malicious H.264 video file, potentially causing the application to crash or leak a single byte of heap memory.

Gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: gstreamer1-plugins-bad: global buffer overflow (oob read) in h.266/vvc vui parameter parser

A flaw was found in the GStreamer gst-plugins-bad package. When processing a malformed H.266/VVC video stream with a crafted aspect ratio indicator value, the H.266 parser performs an out-of-bounds read of up to 8 bytes from adjacent memory. This flaw allows an attacker to craft a malicious H.266 video file or stream that, when processed by a GStreamer-based application, could leak limited memory contents through video metadata, potentially exposing sensitive information from the application's address space.

Gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: gstreamer: denial of service via av1 tile_list_obu parser byte/bit confusion

A denial of service vulnerability was found in GStreamer's AV1 codec parser in gst-plugins-bad. The gst_av1_parser_parse_tile_list_obu() function passes a byte count to a bit-reader API that expects a bit count, causing parser desynchronization. A remote attacker could trick a user into opening a specially crafted AV1 media file, triggering an assertion abort and causing the application to crash.

Gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: gstreamer: heap buffer overflow via crafted vnc server rectangle in librfb

A heap buffer overflow vulnerability was found in GStreamer's librfb (RFB/VNC client). The rectangle bounds check incorrectly validates area rather than individual dimensions, allowing a malicious VNC server to send a rectangle that extends beyond the framebuffer. A remote attacker could set up a malicious VNC server and trick a user into connecting, resulting in an out-of-bounds heap write that could lead to code execution or a crash.

    Medium · CVSS 6.5EPSS 0.4%No fix published

Gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: gstreamer: stack buffer overflow in h.265 buffering period sei parser

A stack buffer overflow flaw was found in the GStreamer H.265 codec parser library (gst-plugins-bad). When parsing a buffering period SEI message, the parser uses an incorrect loop bound derived from cpb_cnt_minus1[i] (the loop index) instead of the sub-layer 0 CPB count cpb_cnt_minus1[0] from the referenced Sequence Parameter Set. A crafted H.265 video file or stream can cause the parser to write beyond the bounds of stack-allocated CPB delay arrays, resulting in a crash or potential stack memory corruption.

Gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: gstreamer: out-of-bounds write in h.266/vvc pps picture partition parser

An out-of-bounds write vulnerability was found in GStreamer's H.266/VVC PPS picture partition parser in gst-plugins-bad. In the multi-slice-in-tile processing of gst_h266_parser_parse_picture_partition() (gsth266parser.c), the loop iterates without checking that the slice index stays within bounds, writing past three fixed-size arrays (slice_height_in_ctus, slice_top_left_ctu_x, slice_top_left_ctu_y) in the GstH266PPS structure. While the initial proof-of-concept demonstrated a 4-byte out-of-bounds write, the code permits larger writes across multiple iterations. A crafted H.266/VVC media file can trigger this vulnerability.
