Budibase: Potential SSRF DNS rebinding bypass in outbound fetch validation

Budibase is an open-source low-code platform. Prior to 3.39.9, authenticated users with automation permissions can bypass Budibase's SSRF blacklist through DNS rebinding. The outbound fetch flow validates a hostname against the blacklist before the request is sent, but the actual socket connection later performs a separate DNS lookup through node-fetch. Since the validated IPs are never pinned to the connection, an attacker-controlled hostname can return a public IP during validation and a private/internal IP during the real connection. This results in a non-blind SSRF primitive against internal services reachable from the Budibase host, incl

Budibase: Unanchored Regex in `matchers.ts` Allows CSRF Bypass via Query String Injection in Budibase Worker

Budibase is an open-source low-code platform. Prior to 3.35.4, the buildMatcherRegex() / matches() functions in packages/backend-core/src/middleware/matchers.ts route patterns are compiled into unanchored regular expressions and tested against ctx.request.url, which includes the full query string. The CSRF middleware in the Budibase Worker uses this matching system to decide whether to skip CSRF token validation. An unauthenticated attacker can forge state-changing cross-origin requests against any Worker API endpoint by injecting a public route pattern into the query string, causing the CSRF middleware to skip token validation entirely. Budibase: Missing Cache Invalidation on Public API Role Unassignment Allows Revoked Users to Retain Privileges for Up to 1 Hour

Budibase is an open-source low-code platform. Prior to 3.38.2, the public API role unassignment endpoint (POST /api/public/v1/roles/unassign) updates user documents in CouchDB but does not invalidate the corresponding Redis user cache entries. Because the authentication middleware resolves user identity and permissions from this cache (TTL: 3600 seconds), a user whose admin, builder, or app-level roles have been revoked via the public API retains those privileges for up to 1 hour. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.38.2.

Budibase auth session cookies are set with httpOnly:false — any XSS can lead to full account takeover

Budibase is an open-source low-code platform. Prior to version 3.35.10, the budibase:auth cookie containing the JWT session token is set with httpOnly: false at packages/backend-core/src/utils/utils.ts:218. JavaScript can read this cookie via document.cookie. This means every XSS becomes a full account takeover — the attacker steals the JWT and has persistent access to the victim's account. The cookie also lacks secure: true (sent over plaintext HTTP) and sameSite attribute. This issue has been patched in version 3.35.10.

    Critical · CVSS 9.1EPSS 0.45%No fix published

Budibase: Authentication Bypass via Unanchored Regex in Public Endpoint Matcher — Unauthenticated Access to Protected Endpoints

Budibase is an open-source low-code platform. Prior to 3.35.4, the authenticated middleware uses unanchored regular expressions to match public (no-auth) endpoint patterns against ctx.request.url. Since ctx.request.url in Koa includes the query string, an attacker can access any protected endpoint by appending a public endpoint path as a query parameter. For example, POST /api/global/users/search?x=/api/system/status bypasses all authentication because the regex /api/system/status/ matches in the query string portion of the URL. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.35.4.

    Critical · CVSS 9.6EPSS 0.38%Fix available

Budibase: Server-Side Request Forgery via REST Connector with Empty Default Blacklist

Budibase is an open-source low-code platform. Prior to version 3.33.4, a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability exists in Budibase's REST datasource connector. The platform's SSRF protection mechanism (IP blacklist) is rendered completely ineffective because the BLACKLIST_IPS environment variable is not set by default in any of the official deployment configurations. When this variable is empty, the blacklist function unconditionally returns false, allowing all requests through without restriction. This issue has been patched in version 3.33.4.
