    protobufjs: Overlong UTF-8 decoding

protobufjs compiles protobuf definitions into JavaScript (JS) functions. Prior to 7.5.6 and 8.0.2, protobufjs includes a minimal UTF-8 decoder that accepted overlong UTF-8 byte sequences and decoded them to their canonical characters instead of replacing them. An attacker who can provide protobuf binary data decoded through the affected UTF-8 path may be able to bypass application-level checks that inspect raw bytes before protobuf string decoding. For example, bytes that do not contain certain ASCII characters could decode to strings containing those characters. This vulnerability is fixed in 7.5.6 and 8.0.2.

basic-ftp allows a malicious FTP server to cause client-side denial of service via unbounded multiline control response buffering

basic-ftp is an FTP client for Node.js. Prior to 5.3.1, basic-ftp is vulnerable to client-side denial of service when parsing FTP control-channel multiline responses. A malicious or compromised FTP server can send an unterminated multiline response during the initial FTP banner phase, before authentication. The client keeps appending attacker-controlled data into FtpContext._partialResponse and repeatedly reparses the accumulated buffer without enforcing a maximum control response size. As a result, an application using basic-ftp can remain stuck in connect() while memory and CPU usage grow under attacker-controlled input. This can lead to pr

sse-channel: SSE Injection via unsanitized event fields

sse-channel is an SSE-implementation which can be used to any node.js http request/response stream. Prior to 4.0.1, implementations that allow user-provided values to be passed to event, retry or id fields are susceptible to event spoofing, where an attacker could inject arbitrary messages into the stream. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.0.1.

    ip-address: XSS in Address6 HTML-emitting methods

ip-address is a library for parsing and manipulating IPv4 and IPv6 addresses in JavaScript. Prior to 10.1.1, Address6.group() and Address6.link() do not HTML-escape attacker-controlled content before embedding it in the HTML strings they return, and AddressError.parseMessage (emitted by the Address6 constructor for invalid input) can contain unescaped attacker-controlled content in one branch. An application that (1) passes untrusted input to Address6 and (2) renders the output of these methods, or the thrown error's parseMessage, as HTML (e.g. via innerHTML) is vulnerable to cross-site scripting. This vulnerability is fixed in 10.1.1.

ssrfcheck: Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) and Incomplete List of Disallowed Inputs

ssrfcheck is a library that checks if a string contains a potential SSRF attack. In 1.3.0 and earlier, ssrfcheck fails to block Server-Side Request Forgery attacks when the target private IP address is encoded as an IPv4-mapped IPv6 address (e.g. http://[::ffff:127.0.0.1]/). The WHATWG URL parser built into Node.js silently normalizes the IPv4 notation inside the brackets to compressed hex form ([::ffff:7f00:1]) before the library's private-IP regex ever runs. The regex was written to match dot-notation only and therefore never matches any real input — all seven IANA private IPv4 ranges, including the AWS/GCP/Azure metadata address 169.254.16

LobeHub: Cross-Site Scripting(XSS) escalate to Remote Code Execution(RCE)

LobeHub is a work-and-lifestyle space to find, build, and collaborate with agent teammates that grow with you. Prior to 2.1.48, when LobeChat processes custom tags in the Render process of src/features/Portal/Artifacts/Body/Renderer/index.tsx, if no type match is found, it will choose to call the default method, HTMLRenderer, for HTML rendering. If an attacker can induce the LLM to output content containing malicious tags, an XSS vulnerability can be created on the client side. Additionally, Lobechat's Electron main process exposes an IPC interface called runCommand, used to invoke system commands. This interface allows arbitrary command exec

Open-WebSearch: SSRF in `fetchWebContent` MCP tool: bracketed IPv6 literals and non-resolving hostname check bypass `isPrivateOrLocalHostname`

Open-WebSearch is a multi-engine MCP server, CLI, and local daemon for agent web search and content retrieval. Prior to 2.1.7, isPublicHttpUrl / assertPublicHttpUrl in src/utils/urlSafety.ts do not recognize bracketed IPv6 literals and do not resolve DNS, which combine to allow non-blind SSRF with the response body returned to the caller. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.1.7.

Parse Server: MFA SMS one-time password accepted twice under concurrent login

Parse Server is an open source backend that can be deployed to any infrastructure that can run Node.js. Prior to 8.6.76 and 9.9.0-alpha.2, a race condition in the MFA SMS one-time password (OTP) login path allows two concurrent /login requests carrying the same OTP to both succeed and both receive valid session tokens, breaking the single-use property of the OTP. The vulnerability requires the attacker to already possess the victim's password and intercept the active SMS OTP (e.g. via SIM swap, network mirror, or phishing relay) and to race the legitimate login request, so the practical attack surface is narrow. sealed-env: TOTP secret embedded in unseal token payload (enterprise mode)

sealed-env is a cross-stack, zero-trust secret management library for Node.js and Java/Spring Boot. In sealed-env enterprise mode, versions 0.1.0-alpha.1 through 0.1.0-alpha.3 embedded the operator's literal TOTP secret in the JWS payload of every minted unseal token. JWS payload is base64-encoded JSON, NOT encrypted. Any party who could observe a minted token (CI build logs, container env dumps, kubectl describe pod, Sentry/Rollbar stack traces, log aggregators) could decode the payload and extract the TOTP secret in plaintext. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.1.0-alpha.4.

multiparty vulnerable to Denial of Service via Uncaught Exception in filename* parameter parsing

[email protected] and lower versions are vulnerable to denial of service via uncaught exception. By sending a multipart/form-data request with a Content-Disposition header whose filename* parameter contains a malformed percent-encoding, the parser invokes decodeURI on the value without try/catch. The resulting URIError propagates as an uncaught exception and crashes the process. Impact: any service accepting multipart uploads via multiparty is affected. Workarounds: none. Upgrade to [email protected] or higher.

multiparty vulnerable to Denial of Service via Prototype Pollution leading to Uncaught Exception

[email protected] and lower versions are vulnerable to denial of service via uncaught exception. By sending a multipart/form-data request with a field name that collides with an inherited Object.prototype property such as __proto__, constructor, or toString, the parser invokes .push() on the inherited prototype value rather than an array, throwing a TypeError that propagates as an uncaught exception and crashes the process. Impact: any service accepting multipart uploads via multiparty is affected. Workarounds: none. Upgrade to [email protected] or higher.

multiparty vulnerable to ReDoS via filename parsing

[email protected] and lower versions are vulnerable to denial of service via regular expression backtracking in the Content-Disposition filename parameter parser. A crafted multipart upload with a long header value can cause regex matching to take seconds, blocking the event loop. Impact: any service accepting multipart uploads via multiparty is affected. Workarounds: limiting upload sizes at the proxy or gateway layer reduces but does not eliminate the attack surface, since a small header of around 8 KB is sufficient to trigger the vulnerable backtracking. Upgrade to [email protected] or higher.

webpack-dev-server vulnerable to cross-origin source code exposure on non-HTTPS origins

webpack-dev-server versions up to and including 5.2.3 are vulnerable to cross-origin source code exposure when serving over a non-potentially trustworthy origin such as plain HTTP. The previous fix relied on the Sec-Fetch-Mode and Sec-Fetch-Site request headers, which browsers omit for non-trustworthy origins, allowing a malicious site to load the bundled source as a script and read it across origins. Impact: an attacker controlling a website visited by a developer running webpack-dev-server can recover the application source code when the dev server runs over HTTP at a guessable host and port. Chromium based browsers from Chrome 142 onward a

Malware in 42 @tanstack/* packages exfiltrates cloud credentials, GitHub tokens, and SSH keys

On 2026-05-11, between approximately 19:20 and 19:26 UTC, 84 malicious versions across 42 @tanstack/* packages were published to the npm registry. The publishes were authenticated via the legitimate GitHub Actions OIDC trusted-publisher binding for TanStack/router, but the publish workflow itself was not modified. The attacker chained three known vulnerability classes — a pull_request_target "Pwn Request" misconfiguration, GitHub Actions cache poisoning across the fork↔base trust boundary, and runtime memory extraction of the OIDC token from the Actions runner process — to publish credential-stealing malware under a trusted identity. Link Preview JS: vunerable to IPv6 and internal loopback attacks

Link Preview JS extracts web links information. Prior to 4.0.1, the library did not check for IPv6 loopback attacks. There was also a DNS attack, where an address could be resolved into an internal IP. This could cause internal data leaks. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.0.1.

exiftool-vendored: Argument injection via newline characters in tag names

exiftool-vendored provides cross-platform Node.js access to ExifTool. Prior to 35.19.0, exiftool-vendored starts ExifTool in -stay_open True -@ - mode, where arguments are read from stdin one per line. In affected versions, several caller-supplied strings were interpolated into ExifTool arguments without rejecting line delimiters. A newline or carriage return inside one of those strings could split a single intended argument into multiple ExifTool arguments, allowing argument injection. The fix also rejects NUL bytes as unsafe control characters. Applications that pass attacker-controlled strings to affected APIs may allow an attacker to make

@workos/authkit-session: Open Redirect via state-derived redirect target

@workos/authkit-session is a toolkit for building WorkOS AuthKit framework integrations. Prior to 0.5.1, an open redirect vulnerability exists in AuthService.handleCallback due to insufficient validation of the returnPathname value derived from the OAuth state parameter. The state parameter is round-tripped through the identity provider (IdP) and can be influenced by an attacker. The handleCallback function decodes and returns returnPathname without enforcing restrictions on origin or scheme. As a result, attacker-controlled values may be returned to the application. If this value is used directly in a redirect, it may cause the user to be re

Summarize Insecure Daemon Configuration File Permissions

Summarize versions through 0.14.1, fixed in commit 0cfb0fb, creates the daemon configuration directory and file with default filesystem permissions that may be world-readable on Unix-like systems, allowing local attackers to read bearer tokens and API credentials stored in ~/.summarize/daemon.json. A local attacker can exploit these permissive permissions to read the daemon bearer token and persisted provider credentials, enabling unauthorized access to the daemon or recovery of sensitive API keys.
