  1. CVE-2026-112214

    Medium · CVSS 6.5EPSS 0.21%No fix published

Gstreamer1-plugins-ugly-free: gstreamer1-plugins-ugly-free: unbounded memory allocation in asfdemux simple index parser

A flaw was found in the GStreamer ASF demuxer in gst-plugins-ugly. When parsing a Simple Index object, an attacker-controlled entry count is used to size a heap allocation without being limited to the payload available in the object. Processing a crafted ASF, WMV, or WMA file can cause a very large memory allocation request and lead to denial of service if the allocation fails or the process is memory-constrained.

Gstreamer: gstreamer1-plugins-ugly-free: gstreamer: integer overflow/underflow in asfdemux bounds checks leading to out-of-bounds read

Multiple integer overflow and underflow vulnerabilities were found in the GStreamer gst-plugins-ugly ASF demuxer (asfdemux) when parsing header objects from crafted ASF, WMV, or WMA files. Insufficient validation of attacker-controlled length and size values can bypass bounds checks and cause out-of-bounds heap reads. This can result in application crash, denial of service, or limited information disclosure when untrusted media is processed.

  3. CVE-2026-53704

    High · CVSS 7.1EPSS 0.46%No fix published

Gstreamer1-plugins-ugly-free: gstreamer: out-of-bounds read in realmedia demuxer fileinfo metadata parser

A flaw was found in GStreamer's RealMedia demuxer in the gst-plugins-ugly package. When processing a RealMedia file containing a specially crafted FILEINFO metadata section, the demuxer parses variable-name and variable-value pairs using re_skip_pascal_string() without validating that offsets remain within the mapped buffer. Additionally, the element count controlling the parsing loop is read from attacker-controlled data without validation, which can cause an infinite loop. A crafted RealMedia file can cause the application to crash, hang, or potentially read limited adjacent memory contents.

    High · CVSS 7.1EPSS 0.46%No fix published

Gstreamer1-plugins-ugly-free: gstreamer: out-of-bounds read in realmedia demuxer audio stream header parser

A vulnerability was found in the GStreamer RealMedia demuxer (gst-plugins-ugly). When processing a RealMedia (.rm) file, the demuxer parses MDPR (media properties) chunks to configure audio streams. For audio stream header versions 4 and 5, the parser reads fields such as codec type, packet size, sample rate, channel count, and extra codec data length from fixed offsets within the chunk without first checking that the chunk contains enough data. If a malicious file provides an MDPR chunk that is too small to contain a complete audio stream header, the parser reads beyond the end of the buffer. This can cause the application to crash. GStreamer RealMedia Demuxer Out-Of-Bounds Write Remote Code Execution Vulnerability

GStreamer RealMedia Demuxer Out-Of-Bounds Write Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of GStreamer. Interaction with this library is required to exploit this vulnerability but attack vectors may vary depending on the implementation. The specific flaw exists within the processing of video packets. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a write past the end of an allocated buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-28845

GStreamer ASF Demuxer Heap-based Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability

GStreamer ASF Demuxer Heap-based Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of GStreamer. Interaction with this library is required to exploit this vulnerability but attack vectors may vary depending on the implementation. The specific flaw exists within the processing of stream headers within ASF files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a fixed-length heap-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current pr

GStreamer RealMedia File Parsing Integer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability

GStreamer RealMedia File Parsing Integer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of GStreamer. Interaction with this library is required to exploit this vulnerability but attack vectors may vary depending on the implementation. The specific flaw exists within the parsing of MDPR chunks. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in an integer overflow before allocating a buffer. CVE-2017-5846

The gst_asf_demux_process_ext_stream_props function in gst/asfdemux/gstasfdemux.c in gst-plugins-ugly in GStreamer before 1.10.3 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (invalid memory read and crash) via vectors related to the number of languages in a video file.
