D-Tale allows Remote Code Execution through the Query input on Chart Builder
D-Tale is a visualizer for Pandas data structures. Users hosting D-Tale publicly can be vulnerable to remote code execution allowing attackers to run malicious code on the server. Users should upgrade to version 3.14.1 where the "Custom Filter" input is turned off by default.
Apache Airflow: Authenticated DAG authors could execute code on scheduler nodes
Apache Airflow versions before 2.10.1 have a vulnerability that allows DAG authors to add local settings to the DAG folder and get it executed by the scheduler, where the scheduler is not supposed to execute code submitted by the DAG author.
Users are advised to upgrade to version 2.10.1 or later, which has fixed the vulnerability.
Apache Airflow: Command Injection in an example DAG
Example DAG: example_inlet_event_extra.py shipped with Apache Airflow version 2.10.0 has a vulnerability that allows an authenticated attacker with only DAG trigger permission to execute arbitrary commands. If you used that example as the base of your DAGs - please review if you have not copied the dangerous example; see https://github.com/apache/airflow/pull/41873 for more information. We recommend against exposing the example DAGs in your deployment. If you must expose the example DAGs, upgrade Airflow to version 2.10.1 or later.
HTML injection in JupyterLite leading to DOM Clobbering
### Impact
The vulnerability depends on user interaction by opening a malicious notebook with Markdown cells, or Markdown file using JupyterLab preview feature.
A malicious user can access any data accessible from JupyterLite and perform arbitrary actions in JupyterLite environment.
### Patches
JupyterLite 0.4.1 was patched.
### Workarounds
There is no workaround for the underlying DOM Clobbering susceptibility. However, select plugins can be disabled on deployments which cannot update in a timely fashion to minimise the risk. These are:
- `@jupyterlab/mathjax-extension:plugin` - users will loose ability to preview mathematical equation
H2O.ai H2O through 3.46.0.4 allows attackers to arbitrarily set the JDBC URL, leading to deserialization attacks, file reads, and command execution. Exploitation can occur when an attacker has access to post to the ImportSQLTable URI with a JSON document containing a connection_url property with any typical JDBC Connection URL attack payload such as one that uses queryInterceptors.

MindsDB Vulnerable to Bypass of SSRF Protection with DNS Rebinding
MindsDB is a platform for building artificial intelligence from enterprise data. Prior to version 23.12.4.2, a threat actor can bypass the server-side request forgery protection on the whole website with DNS Rebinding. The vulnerability can also lead to denial of service. Version 23.12.4.2 contains a patch.
Indico has a Cross-Site-Scripting during account creation
Indico is an event management system that uses Flask-Multipass, a multi-backend authentication system for Flask. In Indico prior to version 3.3.4, corresponding to Flask-Multipass prior to version 0.5.5, there is a Cross-Site-Scripting vulnerability during account creation when redirecting to the `next` URL. Exploitation requires initiating the account creation process with a maliciously crafted link, and then finalizing the signup process. Because of this, it can only target newly created (and thus unprivileged) Indico users. Indico 3.3.4 upgrades the dependency on Flask-Multipass to version 0.5.5, which fixes the issue. Those who build the
Flask-AppBuilder login form allows browser to cache sensitive fields
Flask-AppBuilder is an application development framework. Prior to version 4.5.1, the auth DB login form default cache directives allows browser to locally store sensitive data. This can be an issue on environments using shared computer resources. Version 4.5.1 contains a patch for this issue. If upgrading is not possible, configure one's web server to send the specific HTTP headers for `/login` per the directions provided in the GitHub Security Advisory.
Remote Code Execution Vulnerability via SSTI in Fides Webserver Jinja Email Templating Engine
Fides is an open-source privacy engineering platform. Starting in version 2.19.0 and prior to version 2.44.0, the Email Templating feature uses Jinja2 without proper input sanitization or rendering environment restrictions, allowing for Server-Side Template Injection that grants Remote Code Execution to privileged users. A privileged user refers to an Admin UI user with the default `Owner` or `Contributor` role, who can escalate their access and execute code on the underlying Fides Webserver container where the Jinja template rendering function is executed. The vulnerability has been patched in Fides version `2.44.0`. Users are advised to upg
Fides is an open-source privacy engineering platform. Prior to version 2.44.0, a timing-based username enumeration vulnerability exists in Fides Webserver authentication. This vulnerability allows an unauthenticated attacker to determine the existence of valid usernames by analyzing the time it takes for the server to respond to login requests. The discrepancy in response times between valid and invalid usernames can be leveraged to enumerate users on the system. This vulnerability enables a timing-based username enumeration attack. An attacker can systematically guess and verify which usernames are valid by measuring the server's response ti
pyca/cryptography has a vulnerable OpenSSL included in cryptography wheels
pyca/cryptography's wheels include a statically linked copy of OpenSSL. The versions of OpenSSL included in cryptography 37.0.0-43.0.0 are vulnerable to a security issue. More details about the vulnerability itself can be found in https://openssl-library.org/news/secadv/20240903.txt.
If you are building cryptography source ("sdist") then you are responsible for upgrading your copy of OpenSSL. Only users installing from wheels built by the cryptography project (i.e., those distributed on PyPI) need to update their cryptography versions.
