OpenSIPS: Denial of Service in SDP bandwidth parsing via QoS SDP cloning

OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. Versions prior to 3.6.6 and 4.0.0-rc1 contain a denial of service vulnerability in the SDP bandwidth-line parsing logic. A SIP request with Content-Type: application/sdp and a malformed session-level SDP bandwidth line missing the required colon delimiter can corrupt parsed SDP bandwidth metadata. When a route or module subsequently clones the corrupted SDP state, as occurs with dialog and QoS processing, the OpenSIPS worker process crashes. An unauthenticated remote attacker can therefore trigger a crash in any configuration whose routing script parses attacker-controlled

OpenSIPS: Denial of Service in watcherinfo XML generation from oversized watcher URI

OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. Versions prior to 3.6.6 and 4.0.0-rc1 contain a denial of service vulnerability in the watcherinfo generation functionality. An attacker can create an oversized watcher entry by sending a SUBSCRIBE Event: presence request with a long From URI, and then trigger presence.winfo watcherinfo XML generation for the same presentity. OpenSIPS copies the stored watcher URI into a fixed-size stack buffer, overflowing it and crashing the process. A remote attacker can crash an OpenSIPS worker in deployments that expose handle_subscribe() and allow watcherinfo (presence.winfo) generat

OpenSIPS: OOB Read in Multipart Body Boundary Parsing

OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. In versions prior to 3.6.6 and 4.0.0-rc1, the find_line_delimiter() function in the multipart body parser performs an out-of-bounds read via strncmp() when searching for MIME boundary delimiters. After finding a -- pattern near the end of the body, the function compares delimiter.len bytes (typically 20-70) starting from a position at or past the logical end of the body buffer, reading past the body boundary. The bug triggers when a SIP message has Content-Type: multipart/mixed with a boundary parameter and its body contains -- within two to three bytes of the body's end w

OpenSIPS: Global Buffer Overflow in construct_uri

OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. In versions prior to 3.6.6 and 4.0.0-rc1, the construct_uri() function concatenates multiple URI components (protocol, username, domain, port, params) into a fixed 1024-byte global BSS buffer without any bounds checking. When a routing script calls construct_uri() with an attacker-controlled username, a combined component length exceeding 1024 bytes overflows the buffer, corrupting adjacent global data with attacker-controlled content. The overflow reaches disable_503_translation, a global flag controlling SIP 503 response handling, allowing an attacker to deterministicall

OpenSIPS: SIP Message Smuggling via TCP Content-Length Integer Overflow

OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. In versions prior to 3.6.6 and 4.0.0-rc1, the TCP message framing layer parses the Content-Length header using unsigned int arithmetic with no overflow check. When an attacker sends a Content-Length value that overflows unsigned int (e.g., 4294967296), the framing layer computes a wrapped-around value (e.g., 0) and splits the TCP stream at the wrong boundary, causing the body of the first SIP message to be processed as a separate message and enabling SIP message smuggling. Because Content-Length is parsed in the transport layer before authentication, an unauthenticated, ne

OpenSIPS: Buffer Overflow in Base64 Encode Transformation

OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. Versions 3.4.0-beta through 3.6.5 and 4.0.0-beta contain a buffer overflow in the {s.b64encode} string transformation. The size check for {s.b64encode} only verifies that the input fits within the 64 KB transformation buffer, but base64 encoding expands the data by roughly a third, so an input between about 49,153 and 65,535 bytes produces more output than the buffer can hold and overflows it by up to 21,844 bytes. Because these transformation buffers sit next to each other in memory and are reused for chained transformations, the overflow writes attacker-controlled data i

OpenSIPS: Denial of service in presence.handle_publish() from unchecked Content-Type state

OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. Versions 3.4.0 through 3.6.5 contain a denial of service vulnerability in the presence module. When the presence module's handle_publish() function processes a SIP PUBLISH request with an Event: presence header and a message body while the configuration option enable_sphere_check=1 is set, it invokes the get_content_type() macro without first calling parse_content_type_hdr(), causing it to dereference uninitialized or NULL Content-Type parsing state and crash. If a Content-Type header is present but unparsed, msg->content_type->parsed is NULL and is dereferenced as a conte

OpenSIPS: Stack Buffer Overflow in sip_to_json() Header Name Copy

OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. In versions 4.0.0 and prior, processing a SIP message with a header name longer than 255 bytes causes a stack buffer overflow when sip_to_json() is called in the routing script. Function sip_to_json() (modules/sipmsgops/sipmsgops.c) copies SIP header names into a fixed 255-byte stack buffer without bounds checking, performing a memcpy of the full header-name length even though the SIP parser imposes no such limit (a header name can be roughly 65000 bytes). As a result, when a routing script calls sip_to_json(), a SIP message with a header name longer than 255 bytes trigger

OpenSIPS 3.1 <= 3.6.4 auth_jwt SQL Injection Enables JWT Authentication Bypass

OpenSIPS versions 3.1 before 3.6.4 containing the auth_jwt module (prior to commit 3822d33) contain a SQL injection vulnerability in the jwt_db_authorize() function in modules/auth_jwt/authorize.c when db_mode is enabled and a SQL database backend is used. The function extracts the tag claim from a JWT without prior signature verification and incorporates the unescaped value directly into a SQL query. An attacker can supply a crafted JWT with a malicious tag claim to manipulate the query result and bypass JWT authentication, allowing impersonation of arbitrary identities.

OpenSIPS has vulnerability in the ds_is_in_list() function

OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. Prior to versions 3.1.9 and 3.2.6, if `ds_is_in_list()` is used with an invalid IP address string (`NULL` is illegal input), OpenSIPS will attempt to print a string from a random address (stack garbage), which could lead to a crash. All users of `ds_is_in_list()` without the `$si` variable as 1st parameter could be affected by this vulnerability to a larger, lesser or no extent at all, depending if the data passed to the function is a valid IPv4 or IPv6 address string or not. Fixes will are available starting with the 3.1.9 and 3.2.6 minor releases. There are no known wor

OpenSIPS has vulnerability in the Digest Authentication Parser

OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. Prior to versions 3.1.7 and 3.2.4, a specially crafted Authorization header causes OpenSIPS to crash or behave in an unexpected way due to a bug in the function `parse_param_name()` . This issue was discovered while performing coverage guided fuzzing of the function parse_msg. The AddressSanitizer identified that the issue occurred in the function `q_memchr()` which is being called by the function `parse_param_name()`. This issue may cause erratic program behaviour or a server crash. It affects configurations containing functions that make use of the affected code, such as

OpenSIPS has vulnerability in the Content-Length Parser

OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. Prior to versions 3.1.9 and 3.2.6, a malformed SIP message containing a large _Content-Length_ value and a specially crafted Request-URI causes a segmentation fault in OpenSIPS. This issue occurs when a large amount of shared memory using the `-m` flag was allocated to OpenSIPS, such as 10 GB of RAM. On the test system, this issue occurred when shared memory was set to `2362` or higher. This issue is fixed in versions 3.1.9 and 3.2.6. The only workaround is to guarantee that the Content-Length value of input messages is never larger than `2147483647`.

OpenSIPS has memory leak in cJSON lib

OpenSIPS, a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation, has a memory leak starting in the 2.3 branch and priot to versions 3.1.8 and 3.2.5. The memory leak was detected in the function `parse_mi_request` while performing coverage-guided fuzzing. This issue can be reproduced by sending multiple requests of the form `{"jsonrpc": "2.0","method": "log_le`. This malformed message was tested against an instance of OpenSIPS via FIFO transport layer and was found to increase the memory consumption over time. To abuse this memory leak, attackers need to reach the management interface (MI) which typically should only be exposed on trusted

OpenSIPS has vulnerability in the building the local negative replies

OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. Versions prior to 3.1.7 and 3.2.4 have a potential issue in `msg_translator.c:2628` which might lead to a server crash. This issue was found while fuzzing the function `build_res_buf_from_sip_req` but could not be reproduced against a running instance of OpenSIPS. This issue could not be exploited against a running instance of OpenSIPS since no public function was found to make use of this vulnerable code. Even in the case of exploitation through unknown vectors, it is highly unlikely that this issue would lead to anything other than Denial of Service. This issue has been

OpenSIPS has vulnerability in the codec_delete_XX() functions

OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. Prior to versions 3.1.7 and 3.2.4, OpenSIPS crashes when a malformed SDP body is received and is processed by the `delete_sdp_line` function in the sipmsgops module. This issue can be reproduced by calling the function with an SDP body that does not terminate by a line feed (i.e. `\n`). The vulnerability was found while performing black-box fuzzing against an OpenSIPS server running a configuration that made use of the functions `codec_delete_except_re` and `codec_delete_re`. The same issue was also discovered while performing coverage guided fuzzing on the function `code

OpenSIPS has vulnerability in the parse_to_param() function

OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. Prior to versions 3.1.7 and 3.2.4, when the function `append_hf` handles a SIP message with a malformed To header, a call to the function `abort()` is performed, resulting in a crash. This is due to the following check in `data_lump.c:399` in the function `anchor_lump`. An attacker abusing this vulnerability will crash OpenSIPS leading to Denial of Service. It affects configurations containing functions that make use of the affected code, such as the function `append_hf`. This issue has been fixed in versions 3.1.7 and 3.2.4.

OpenSIPS has vulnerability in the parse_via() function

OpenSIPS is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server implementation. Prior to versions 3.1.7 and 3.2.4, sending a malformed `Via` header to OpenSIPS triggers a segmentation fault when the function `calc_tag_suffix` is called. A specially crafted `Via` header, which is deemed correct by the parser, will pass uninitialized strings to the function `MD5StringArray` which leads to the crash. Abuse of this vulnerability leads to Denial of Service due to a crash. Since the uninitialized string points to memory location `0x0`, no further exploitation appears to be possible. No special network privileges are required to perform this attack, as long
